Hello.Up early.
Lovely sunrise.
Enjoyed seeing all the April Fools.
Did a bit of work in my office.
Was supposed to get log burner cleaned this morning but they texted at 10.45am to say it would be afternoon ( so had an inward growl)
But nice chaps…when they came.Went to doctors with DD2 and had a mooch in charity shops beforehand. Got a wee lamp for caravan and a white shirt. And a wee felt Easter basket shaped like carrots 🥕
Home and had to quickly put together Tuesday Tea. Sausages, roast potatoes and parsnips with very yummy cauliflower cheese. A cream cake for pud.Chatter and laughter as usual.
Beautiful sunset.5 -
Pleasures for today (Tuesday)
1) Not a bad sleep.
2) Raced round doing a few chores.
3) My friend picked me up, we met another friend then we went to Aston Villa to see another friend who has just started working there!
4) Smaller son set his alarm for 9.30. 9.33, 9.36 etc but still managed to fall asleep after the last alarm (at 9.51) and I received an email from his course leader. I messaged my neighbour to break into our porch and ring the doorbell constantly but he woke again anyway at 10.10!
5) Came back from Aston Villa and felt quite discombobulated so had a cup of tea in M and S.
6) Made kebabs for tea then a fruit salad as I wanted to use things up.
7) Popped to Sainsburys with smaller son.5 -
1) another beautifully sunny day - enjoyed the journey into work
2) a lovely run / meeting with colleagues at lunch time - sun still out
3) a walking meeting with another colleague at 3:30 - sun still out
4) made a very nice curry for tea with the remains of the chicken - yum
5) and very nice colleague and wife dropped off biryani and rice pudding as an Eid gift - she is a very good cookMrsSD declutter medals 2023 🏅🏅🏅⭐⭐ 2025

For yesterday,
Woke up hungry so fried egg on toast for breakfast.
Busy morning with chores, made a loaf and wielded the hoover. Stopped for a drink and watched the sparrow squadron lining up to take a bath in the water feature.
Dropped into horsey town to pick up washed rugs then on to the yard, saw my friend from old place and had a chat. Fetched my girl in and tidied up her tail while she had her hay net then did some carrot stretches, her favourite thing.
Dusted off my old copy of the Cranks cookbook and made their leek and cheese tart for tea.
Footie team was on the tele, only because we were playing the Hollywood squad aka Wrexham! We managed a point but we are still well adrift at the bottom of the league!5 -
Morning all and another glorious sunny day.
We have been horribly poorly, not felt this ill in a long time so not much in the way of pleasures but I have gratitudes:
1) Hubby and I have struggled on, taking care of each other and muddling through. Thankfully we are stocked up on necessities.
2) Caring messages from others but we are keeping them at arm's length, no desire to pass this on.
3) Sad we are missing a theatre trip and hotel stay tonight but very grateful we had taken out insurance and they have confirmed we will be reimbursed.
4) Not the best way to do it but the pounds are falling off, nearly half a stone this week as just not hungry.
5) Hate antibiotics and the side effects but have faith they will do what they need to do.
Hope everyone is enjoying the kovely weather, we really are having glorious Spring.6 -
It's blowing a hooley today, as forecast.
Will try.....yet again 🙄😬....to post, then catch-up read eventually.🤞

1. Energy account still nearly £200 in credit.
2. Met little new person yesterday, born November, with lovely pics sent on to &, who didn't know they were being taken during This Little Piggy.🫶
3. Huge and busy yesterday, started with early Covid booster, ended with post-training munch for senior men. Leftovers to corvids up on The Gallops next.
4. Saturday's Tommy Dann match, so much, so good, emotional and difficult moments though there were. I'm glad to say that the minute's silence before kick-off was immaculately observed. Jonny W. again lovely. &'s notorious Raffling Nasties were so generously honoured, meaning several thousand £s for a very worthy cause, via Jonny's foundation. The whole thing is very close to &, R also having taken his life.
5. Simnel cakes done and v.g. - as always from the legendary NZ Edmonds Cookbook.

Horrors! Lainey, did you realise Kitchen'n'Things is closing down?😱😱😱
Popped in yesterday, as were so many others, to express upset and regret. So sad that this is happening.CAP[UK]for FREE EXPERT DEBT &BUDGET HELP:

Good evening. Oh the weather is wonderful! So much sun😃
@Frith - you and younger son must feel so proud. It's been a long time coming and you've shown endless patience but it's paying off. Well done both of you x
@Highdays - that sounds dreadful. Hope you both feel better very soon.
I made egg-free burgers today ( I'm allergic) They have cottage cheese instead of egg and were lovely. Definitely will be added to the recipe list.
I also made an Easter wreath. Wreath and little eggs from the pound shop and eucalyptus DH was cutting back. Total cost £2:50. And I very bravely used the glue gun ( I'm frightened of them and usually get DD or DGD to do it for me but they weren't here).
Tomorrow's project is cranachan. We had it in Scotland and it was lovely so I'm going to give it a go!
I think the sunshine is making me more enthusiastic about doing things. Long may it last
Happy teatime everyone 🌞6 -
love cranachan @Happycas - send some up here 😋and very fine looking simnel cake @ampersand
@Highdays hope you both feel better very soon.
1) another beautifully sunny day - went for a jog with colleague at lunch time - we had a good meeting on the run - then when we got back another 2 colleagues were going for their walk so joined them for a walk and talk
2) yummy biryani followed by rice pudding for lunch courtesy of Muslim colleagues - happy Eid everyone
3) fabulous drop-in meeting - i suspect with all the uncertainty this is becoming a highlight of the week for people
4) home for 6 - had a cuppa in the front garden with mum - very civilised
5) footie in the pub with the usual suspects despite being in a different pub! and Jupiter is looking fabulous next to the crescent moon.
