I did wake up once through the night but then was shocked to awake at 7.30 am… a waste of two hours 😆
Had work this morning. Further away than usual. Lovely drive through beautiful countryside. Lovely family. Then went on to the next town and went to visit a new two storey wall mural that was just amazing!Went for lunch all by myself in a ( old man) pub. It was a bit like being a stranger in town as everyone turned to look as I walked in! But I had a very nice lunch…lasagna, chips, garlic bread and coleslaw for a whole £6.90 would never get that round here! Then stopped at supermarket in the next along town and got 2 big gammon joints RTC to £2.50 each…just as well there wasn’t much else in the freezer.Home…bit of work and a further service booked in.Tuesday Tea was breaded chicken with roast potatoes (15p bag for Easter) carrots, sprouts and peas. Tunnocks tea cake for pud.Chatter and laughter then they left at 7pm as I had to work…DD2 turned up 5 minutes later and was told she had 5 minutes as I had to work! Was so busy writing I almost missed the most amazing sunset . Glad I looked up when I did.And just discovered my airfryers ( I have 2…1 here, 1 at caravan) have been recalled so need to deal with that tomorrow!7 -
For yesterday,
Rain, so much rain! Everything looks so much greener this morning.
Sat and sorted through some inherited jewellery, will never wear it as I’m kind of minimalist when it comes to pretty things so have a mind to sell and buy something in memory that I will wear.
Final payment made for Dorset holiday, will be our first time away in a cottage without small dog which will seem very strange.
Over to see my other girl, she was in a grumpy mood after being kept in due to rain, took advantage of brief break in deluge to take her for a walk in hand.
Glad of blankets on sofa as it was chilly but heating now resolutely off!5 -
Good morning. Very windy here but dry so bedding on the line.
DH is sticking to his low carb diet and has lost almost half a stone in two weeks! But, of course, we don't know how his blood sugar is which is the point of the exercise! But I reckon it can only be doing him good! I've lost 2 pounds too so that's good😃.
Btw, @topsyturphy, thank you for the cauliflower steak idea. Trying all sorts of new things now!
I went for the pre-op for my second cataract operation yesterday. All is well except yet again my blood pressure was high. I tested it at home this morning and it still is. I hate that pumping up, grabbing the bicep thing. I'm sure it makes things worse. Anyway decided to take action! Already on the healthy diet so am adding a walk each day. Of course, sciatica had something to say about that but I managed 15 minutes and will try for a few minutes more each day.
Add in changing the bed, pegging out the washing, watering the very dry pots in the garden and I reckon it's now time for a sit down with a coffee. So that's what I'm doing!
Happy blustery day everyone5 -

Hello.Another longer than usual sleep. Though earlier than yesterday! We had vets at 8.30am and I had work emails to do before I left. So was a bit of a mad rush but roads were quieter as schools are off.
Then down to caravan for a few hours then got home and couldn’t remember if I’d switched something off so had to about turn and go back again…a 50 minute round unnecessary trip as I had switched it off! Grrr!Bit of work this afternoon and evening but such lovely feedback from the family.DD2 came for tea.Sat and blethered not realising the time. It’s been cold and wet but the garden is looking so much better for the rain. It would look even better if I could get the fence painting finished 😆
Chat to niece. We have a busy weekend!5 -
The funeral took place yesterday and as funerals go it was an amazing celebration of his life, made perfect by the celebrant / amazing undertakers and the lady who did both the catering and flowers.
We left all of the flower spreads to be re-used for easter in the church, but the bouquets were divided up as they might not last, and one is in the kitchen with an amazing scent.
We have leftovers, much to DH’s delight.
Numerous washes on the washing line.
Deep cleaned the bathroom, it’s been on my “to do” list for a while.
Oven fish, chips and veg for dinner.
I received the home insurance and rejected it, used the mse tool to get it £200 cheaper, but according to it I need to wait until the end of next week for the best price, so I’ve saved the quotes.
It was lovely to catch up with a friend online.

I went to a combat exercise class, as I have to start somewhere, they don’t list it, but she said it’s a mills high intensity class hmm, actually I survived, albeit very glad I had a water/towel and inhaler with me, and I think I need this as I would never push myself as far as that did. I’ve booked myself onto the next one, and I’ve booked a different one to try “boxercise”.
I came home and made chicken with many veg in a cheese sauce.
The house is dragged into clean again
We have a very poorly old gal Fizzers, we don’t know how old she is, she’s been to the vets twice over the past 10 days, on 2 lots of antibiotics, but she seems to be fading, I sat in the garden with her for a while today, and let her soak in the sun on the grass, and when she was ready to come in she just raised her head at me and I bought her back in. We have managed to get her eating the fatty bits of chicken thighs, so I popped to aldi and grabbed another kg to chop up for her. Always hoping for the best.
