For yesterday,
Chores and errands done in the sunshine, always helps.
The tiniest coloured foal lying at their Mum’s feet, beyond cute.
Managed to catch the Postie at our garden gate and a parcel was squirrelled away, it’s my beloved’s birthday on Sunday and he was WFH.
Evening walk and lots of tweeting coming from one of the beech trees, think the kestrels have nested in there again.
Watched the Amol interview with Gary Lineker, interesting.6 -
Pleasures for today (Wednesday)
1) Not a bad sleep.
2) Smaller son is now 6.5 weeks through his 8 week IT course.
3) He heard back from the apprenticeship he applied for and had to fill in another form to see if he was eligible.
4) I made porridge for breakfast, carrot and lentil soup for lunch then broccoli and pasta cheese for dinner.
5) Cut and dug up lots of nettles and brambles and moved new edging stones to the top of the garden. Set 3 slabs under the beech tree so we can sit in the shade. Saw a grass snake.
6) Smaller son and I drove past the possible apprenticeship site for a nose then went to the nursery. Hardly looked at plants but got caught in Lakeland.
7) Back for more gardening and talked to the neighbour over the fence.
8) Made a simnel cake and it is baking now.

Hello!Up early. I prefer early…I know where I am 😆
Waited till washing was ready to hang out then down to caravan.
Nice walks.
Remade beds. May have laid down on mine and just listened to the birdsong through the open window…that’s the only sound. It’s so peaceful ( now that most folk are back to work/school!)
Home . Had some work calls.Cut grass and then hoovered car.
Was just about to put tea on when friend called. She’d had to call out car recovery so I drove out to sit with her. We sat and had a good chat! She had a 3 hour wait! And finally home. It’s been a beautiful day!5 -

For yesterday,
Caught up on chores and made a loaf, Capt S came downstairs sniffing the air like a Bisto kid.
Out in the garden and honk honk as a skein of geese flew overhead.
Something had slept in the Nepeta overnight as it was flattened quite a bit in middle, might be time to set up the nature cam again.
My girl had obviously enjoyed a roll in the mud!
Started my 16th book of the year, The Music Shop by R Joyce.4 -
Morning all.
Recent pleasures:
1) Pretty much up to speed with our daily walks again, stamina and strength improving day on day. Still can't taste or smell though.
2) Clean bill of health at the dentist, phew!
3) Excellent test results for brother, third good result in a row. Big relief.
4) Bluebells at our favourite garden, it is famous - and rightly so - for its bluebell wood. Just a magical sea of blue.
5) Planning an afternoon opening up my summerhouse for this year, looking forward to many happy hours of poodling and pottering.
Have a good day, whatever you are up to.5 -
I’ve been a bit quiet the last few days after we had news that a friend passed away over in Wales, we’ve just been dealing with it really.
1-5 Fizzers was booked into the vet and we had a terrible feeling it may be time, but during the day I didn’t get that feeling with her, the vet did some emergency x rays and found the issue, which is treated with meds, she’s in heart failure, we have a bit of a false hope as the last one with heart problems here lived another 5 years, it’s plain we won’t get that but she’s happy we have the meds from the previous ferret in heart failure so can use them up as they are in date. We thanked Nestle. We apologised profusely for making everyone late.
On the way back we stopped in at Lidl instead of the Aldii and we hit just the right time, it seemed what we wanted was on offer, and I picked up a half price pizza as a unhealthy dinner tonight.
And breathe.
For today
Horrible meeting but followed by a trip up and down a high street visiting charity shops but nothing picked up.
Got on with mopping the whole house
I forced myself out to a hard fitness class, and I’m glad I did.
Home and cooked up gammon steak, with new pots and veggies, with pineapple of course.
Cleaned out a couple of cupboards that needed to be done.
I don't know if Fizzers is going to make it, but she's trying, and we're trying, but she's had pneumonia at the same time the heart issue, so we wait for now.

Hello! Just watching the day end and thinking of the day beginning over in Australia and Anzac Day. This year I can’t watch the service as it happens as I would normally have done.Well! What a day! All changed from its original plans of working in the morning and then heading to CP for a wee overnight stay!Had a work call and asked to take a service next week which isn’t much notice so I called the family and they were free for me to go and visit this afternoon. So it was a quick change into work clothes, grabbed my things and off I went. About half hour drive each way but it’s a nice drive. It was in the wee town I lived in when my oldest two were tinies. DD1 was born when we lived here anyway I thought I’ll go up old street for a wee bit of reminiscence! Holy moly! I walked up that very steep street with a big silver cross pram every day! And today I drove up it and thought I would have vertigo by the time I reached to top just driving! And home and hello doggy our plans have changed !So I had to sit and write and write another service and send it off !Friend called for a chat.DD1 lost a stone out of her earring in my car at Christmas time and even though I’ve hoovered the car several times since then ( I like to have tidy car when I’m working) the stone was never to be seen…yesterday I lifted the floor mat ( as in just like it’s been done many times) and there was the stone!! So it’s been stuck in a card and I’ll post it in the morning. It’s been another nice day not that I’ve been out in it much! And just had a nice chat with neighbour/ friend.4
