5 OS pleasures in your day today - part 3

For yesterday,
Another sunny day and warm as well, the sparrows were queuing up to take a bath.
Over to the yard in the morning, measured my box and it will go in the back of my car with the seats down, used beloved’s car to move it last time but this mini is a bit bigger. Walked out to see my girl and give her medication, she was dozing in the sunshine with no rug on which must feel wonderful after wearing them all winter. Got mugged for carrots & apple then leant against her side for a bit and practised our standing still Olympics.
Home, quick change and out to BuryStEds to go to the theatre, afternoon production of A Tryal of Witches about the shenanigans of Matthew Hopkins, witchfinder general who was very prevalent in these parts. Excellent play.
What is it about those little cupboard pots of ice-cream you get at the theatre that make them taste so good!
Nice evening at home, I made chicken fajitas for tea and we ate them in front of the tv.7 -
Morning all.
I had completely bypassed the new job news, Frith, many congratulations.
Recent pleasures:
1) A pleasure and a relief to get up this morning after a very disturbed night where my beloved bed just did not fit at all. Lack of sleep has left me feeling positively mardy (is that just a northern term?) so watch out!
2) Hairdresser yesterday, don't take any pleasure in the process but enjoy the results - a slight tweak of style and colour this time has perked me up a bit for spring. Of course, after a restless night, I now am sporting the scarecrow look.
3) Off in the shower shortly to sort scarecrow hair so will have the pleasure of using my new birthday body lotion, not one I have tried before but totally love it - thank you sis, you know me so well!
4) Son's partner's car has a broken handbrake cable, hubby knows how to sort so he and my son are on with it now. Good they both have a 'can do' attitude and just get on with things.
4) Another lovely day though there is talk of it getting colder again next week, can't remember the last time I had such a glorious birthday week, usually I get sleet and snow. Anyway, we will make the most of it with a long walk in local NT grounds this afternoon to enjoy the spring planting.
Happy Sunday whatever you are up to.

A lovely pleasure today - in amongst tidying out some boxes in the garage (where Mr CJ had stored various things when we cleared his late parents’ house) I found this little book. As it is aimed at a school curriculum, I think it may have been either his mother’s or his grandmother’s as they had both been teachers. A little treasure! Can’t find a date on it, but I am guessing pre WWII.

Good afternoon. Another lovely day been had
@C_J DH did exactly as you describe to our kitchen cupboard doors about 6 years ago. It looks so much better and still looks good now.
Love your little cookery book 😍
@LaineyT I'm impressed by eating fajitas in front of the tv. We are quite capable of getting in a mess with them while sitting at the table.
Went off happily this morning to watch DGS football. What a difference the sunshine makes. I even took my coat off! And we won too.
DD meanwhile is in Palma and it's raining there. But, as she says, it's better than going to work!
Not been allowed to do any bending down or heavy lifting for two weeks after cataract operation. But it's just over two weeks now so I'm going to yoga tomorrow. I actually ache more than usual so will be glad to get back to normal.
But not complaining, because the eye is amazing. I can see for miles now, out of my left eye. Hopefully right eye will be done soon.
Happy teatime everyone

What a nice few days!
Pleasures for today (Sunday)
1) Not a bad sleep.
2) Survived another shift at work.
3) Had a quick tidy up once home, cleaned the kitchen bin etc.
4) My friend came over to put new skirting up in the kitchen. There had been a bare gap at the base of the wall for over a year! I did the filling and caulking.
5) Smaller son's beer finally started fermenting!
6) I cut smaller son's hair - probably 8cm off.
7) We had chips for tea then played Monopoly.
8) Smaller son's friend is back from Australia and we watched his flight circling online.7 -

For yesterday,
I slept right through with no nocturnal visits to the bathroom, a rare occurrence but v welcome.
Spent most of the morning in the garden, I dug out a new border and popped in some primulas for instant colour. Cut the buddleia right down and had a general tidy. By that time all that was done we were ready to grab the garden chairs out of the shed and sit in the sun with a cold drink.
Roast chicken for lunch.
We had a walk around the field after lunch, the bird scarer made us jump even though it’s been going off since the farmer planted but it was a lot closer this time! Memories of small dog running ahead and sending up the birds.
The cottage was warm after a day of sunshine and that lovely feeling of doors open making it feel part of outdoors.6 -

Well after yesterday ‘s warmth it was back to normal today! Chilly! Although dry. But such a cold wind! Would have been a good drying day if I had a washing 😆
Anyway two crazy dreams one after the other! And glad to get up!Went to CP with doggy. We had a nice walk ( though draughty! ) Started painting my caravan bedroom. But will only be able to do a wee bit at a time as I don’t want there to be too much moisture. Will try and get down a few times this week.Home.Chat to sister.Cut the grass! First cut of the season.Thought it was mobile library day but then had a thought and a check and we are now only every four weeks. Cuts! However I still have a few books to read.
Got a work call and a new service booked in. So called the family and booked their appointment.
Started watching Ten Pound Poms.Had a rake through freezer and found chicken Kiev so had with rice and veggies.
Pup was a-visiting and was collected.
Beautiful sunset.6
