Many condolences to you both PK x
For yesterday,
Move day so up and out early, girlie had been left in and was a little confused!Packed up the last of our stuff in my car and put my big black box plus feed bins aside to go in the lorry with her. She was a little hesitant getting on and I got a very panicked look when she realised that I was walking away from the horse box, made my heart hurt as she didn’t know that I would be following behind.
But Mum was there when she came off again, she was all eyes on stalks and flaring nostrils but walked with me into the new barn and her designated stable. She had an hour to decompress before going out, luckily her stable mate from our old yard was in the field next to her so there was a nose to nose hello of recognition bless them. Left her to settle for a bit while I popped home for a much needed cuppa!
All was well when I went back over, it’s obviously not the same but the people seem nice and the yard well looked after.
Easy tea of pizza then early to bed, was shattered!9 -
Condolences to PK s 😘
Glad your yard move went well and your girl seems settled Lainey 😊
Not much going on here as OH has yet another cold and I have some symptoms, so no swimming. He is still doing his every other day at work though as he never has any time off and works outside. He has given his resignation letter in and will be retiring next month 😧
Met my BF for lunch and catch up yesterday.
Weather has been cold, showery and some hailstones, bring back the sunshine ☀️
We’re both having a lie in this morning, in separate rooms to avoid his coughing! If he feels up to it we’re going to local pub for lunch to use my free bottle of wine 🍷 birthday voucher before it runs out.
Few more sales on Vinted, must do some more sorting and decluttering.
Keep well and warm everyone, have a good day 😊8 -
Morning everyone.
PK - so sorry to hear your sad news, go steady.
Lainey - hope you both settle into your new surroundings, good that the move is done and you can start adjusting.
Have a good day, hope we all get some sunshone.6 -

Sorry, folks, will try to remember to proofread before pressing 'Post Comment' not after!!!5 -
Thanks, we're going through all the emotions and motions, a little distance but a lot of conversation today, as we had to deal with the vets today,
Cut DH’s hair.
We were up and out for Fuses ultrasound, and picked him up this afternoon, it showed a lot, and the vet is already chatting specialist, he’s back but still recovering, honestly, we are concerned at the moment, but hopefully its because he needed to be sedated, and it takes a while to get over..
It was nice to be out while waiting for Fuse, we pondered around Dunelm, in all honestly we needed the facilities, but ended up buying an ice cream scoop, so I stop bending spoons, and a fleece vastly reduced to 1.75 to keep in the car as I cuddled him all the way there and spent the day looking like I was wearing a bad mohair jumper. We stopped in their café and had a cuppa and a millionaires shortbread, which was delicious and chatted for a long while to the lady fascinated to learn about Fuse, so we shared photo’s and chatted all about them any excuse.
Next up was Hobbycraft, a gentle meander but also knowing our lack of craft capabilities.
Honestly, things are catching up on us, and we were forced to stop for a few hours while feeling a rough we guess stress.
I made dinner of bubble and squeak with sausages; I didn’t enjoy it.

Busy day again.
Early. Loving the daylight.
Went to old work for a fruit scone and a chatter. Then supermarket.
Then back to a list of chores. Hoovering. Hung washing out. Cleaned bathrooms. Bin day stuff.Window cleaner came. Hurrah! Last here four days before storm Eowyn. Upstairs windows were filthy.
Ready for work.
Via B&Q for paint.Lovely family. Dropped someone off home…out my way but it’s nice to be nice. Had a nice chatter with them .
And home and wrote and wrote !8 -
PK, my condolences to you both, and to your 4-foot family who sense your feelings.
Doing whatever feels right at the time is right.🫶

Lainey,🤞that 'settle down' start continues smoothly.
1. Alternating pelting hail, 10-15 mins of swirly, non-settling snow, plus rain and sun, both still chilly.
Glad of thermos2. Major muck-out of everyday handbag - extraneous bits of paper, old receipts, fluff, concert/exhibition/match tickets, defunct addresses etc.....but it's already repopulating.😁3. Last two Art Quarterly mags catch-up.
4. More good walking where leftover chicken biryani from rugby club training was taken up with alacrity by ducks and swans, whose 2025 home is within a mile, ditto the geese.Pics all out of order, but so be it.
5. Reading and re-reading Richard Coles' wonderful, self-knowing 'Bringing in the Sheaves', funny, often moving. & marks pp20-22, a meeting between RC+friend, Horatio Clare, another of &'s great flawed loves.

& ‘A madness of grief ‘ got me through many a dark night after my beloved DH died .alternately crying and laughing
I admire Richard Coles greatly5 -
For yesterday,
Yes yes to Amps weather roundup, hail, sleet, sunshine, rinse & repeat.Horsey town for some fresh food and took advantage of the emporium’s offer of 25% off 6 bottles of vino to stock up.
My beloved came home for lunch with a bunch of flowers for me, I have been feeling quite blue and out of sorts because of too many changes which don’t sit well with me.
Anyways, over to see my girl and she was happy enough in her stable, saw my friend who has also moved her horse to this yard so was nice to see a familiar face.
The nearly full moon rising from behind the beech trees, always magical.6 -
Good morning. Beautiful bright day but very cold, as it has been all week. But much better than wall to wall grey.
PK. Thinking of you in this difficult time. Xxx
Bit of a nothing week but I don't mind that.
Made a meat and potato pie but my pastry- making skill seems to have deserted me. My mum always said butter made hard pastry and this time she was right. The meat and taties were good though!
DH went to the garden centre with his friend and brought me a fritillary. I've loved them since we saw a veritable carpet of them at Kew one year. They always seem to vanish in our garden though so I think I'll keep this one in its pot.
Three weeks since my cataract operation and the difference is amazing. Can't wait to have the other eye done. I wish there was something similar for ears😂
Have started making a scrapbook/ album for DGD. Lots of photos from baby to Swiftie and lots of 'artwork' from playschool onwards. I was going to do it for her 18th birthday but decided to start now. Only a year early!
DH was very excited yesterday. Green bin collections resumed. Ours was very full!
Happy 🌞 day everyone
