5 OS pleasures in your day today - part 3

Pleasures for yesterday (Tuesday)
1) Not a bad sleep.
2) Got a few chores done at home.
3) A day trip! First drove to Charlcote Park (National Trust) and looked around the house. We hadn't been for years - possibly 12 years! Smaller son liked the brewery and we had a pot of tea in the orangery. All the room guides were chatty.
4) From there to the small airfield, just to have a look from the car. It turned out to be quite busy so we got our of the car and watched 4 planes landing or taking off. It turned out we were in the wrong car park and there is a second with a cafe so we will remember that for next time.
5) Then into Stratford and we wandered about, looked at the river and had a McDonalds.
6) We looked around the theatre and at an exhibition on the outfits over time.
7) We went to the Youth Hostel where we stayed years ago and walked round the grounds to look at the new sleeping pods. Then we had a cup of tea in the restaurant.
8) Then we went to watch our football team play Leamington! It is surrounded by flat fields and the coldest place ever (though last time we went it was -2 so even worse!) Smaller son had a beer.6 -
Morning all.
Chilly again but bright and sunny, we are heading in the right direction and everything is greening up nicely.
Some pleasures:
1) Spent an hour and a half in a physical bank yesterday, I stupidly transferred some £ to an old account that had a block on it instead of to a 'live' account. It wasn't showing in either bank so had to go in to sort. What a carry on with neither bank wanting to take any responsibility to do anything about it, the pleasure of losing nearly a whole morning was that it was finally sorted...and breathe...
2) Did some bits of shopping while we were out and about so can have a day at home today, definitely feel the need to just potter and faff today though no doubt my bairn will be dragging me up some hills on our lunchtime walk.
3) Heard last night that my mum and dad's favourite carer who is now a dear family friend has become a grandma again, another little girl joins the ranks.
4) I have started a complicated knitting project - a Christening blanket for my niece's baby, due at the end of June and it may take me that long to finish it! Trying to do a bit each day so I can 'set' the pattern in my mind and am spending that hour or so thinking about our children when they were little, our childhoods, mum and dad and lovely, happy family thoughts so they can all be knitted into the blanket. Fanciful, eh?!
5) In spite of birthday cake and lunches out I managed to lose another 1.5lbs this week so I'm pleased with that. Every little helps.
Right, a bit of domestic stuff to be done, then a coffee and the rest of the day free to do whatever. Lovely.
Have a good day.6 -
Take care Bop..
My father-in-law passed away suddenly yesterday morning, and it’s all been a blur
The admin passing bizarrely creates is underway.

Pleasures for today (Wednesday)
1) Not a bad sleep.
2) Walked to the cafe in the local park for a cup of tea.
3) Tidied up a bit - sofa throw, floors downstairs.
4) Sanded the new skirting we put in the other day.
5) Planted some new herb plants and cut some daffodils for indoors.
6) Had chicken, roast pots, sweetcorn and bread sauce for tea then made some Millie's cookies.
7) Watched Sort Your House Out.
8) Smaller son's new keg arrived from Ebay and the very old cat has enjoyed the box it came in...

Many condolences @Purple_kitten, I hope you and Mr PK are doing okay. The sadmin can be distracting enough to give your heads time to process the new normal, but it’s a tough journey.6
