For yesterday,
The loaf I’d made the day before rather fell apart when trying to get it out of the tin so a new tin on order and a deconstructed bacon butty for breakfast!
The boy dog was dropped off as his M&D were going to the capital for the footie final so lots of games in the garden and no’s as various things were tested for chewiness, he is under one so puppy phase still.
I did escape for a while to check on my girlie, she was out in her field so took the usual bucket with goodies in, she seemed better being outside so not sure as the stable hours are the same as previous home.
We watched the football and were delighted when DSS team won, their first trophy in a long, long time. Goodness knows what state his head is in this morning!
Last part of Towards Zero, a decent enough adaptation but have preferred others.6 -
My 5 for yesterday areBeing able to help my DD after her husband drilled through a water pipe. They only moved into their 1st house last week. We are not going to let him forget about this for a while 😛Doing lots of baking while we had 2 hours of free electricity yesterday. It’s set us up well for the week ahead.
Clearing my washing basket, but even better while we had the 2 hours free electricity.
Cooking a new recipe for tea and the family raving about how yummy it was.
Finding a near mint Folio Society version of Wind in the Willows in a charity shop for £10 when it’s £70 on the Folio website.7 -
FunkyFairy, wow that is an amazing find.
1 My first deep sleep in a long time.
2 Food has been a bit odd and unwanted really, today I made a corned beef hash, which was actually tasty.
3 A huge amount of ferret playfulness, we are so lucky, they go out of their way to play the clown and make us smile and downright laugh at their antics, we spent time with them making up for not being able to be around as much as they are used to.
4 Washing line loads, today is our bedding and the ferret bedding
5 The recent bereavement has made us realise we have no clue about what music DH, or I would want. I started on drafting what I would like last year, and got as far as 2 songs, so it’s made us make a note to think of these things when our heads are clearer.
6 Finances, we have some subscription renewals coming up, so cancelled amazon music, cancelled Netflix, and sorted another renewal pending to a downgraded version.
A sad part that stood out today barring the spontaneous occasional tears, I went to make the ferret meds as I have every day for the past 5 years and 3 months and suddenly, they aren’t needed anymore, along with their little disabled ramps. But that means touch wood there are still a lot of happy healthy ones here, they are a bit confused by it all at the moment, as am I.

How many ferrets are with you now PK?I’ve had the quietest of days. A dog boy has been a bit out of sorts…non specific as he sometimes does. Just not quite right.I had my ouchy ouch massage first thing that was exceptionally ouchy ouch. Plan was to go to CP but came home and just thought stay home and have a quiet day. So we both did.
A couple of teeny tiny work things. Minuscule really!Got a parcel delivery and the driver gives good dogs a treat. So after barking hello H sat and waited politely!Had leftover pie for tea with potatoes and veggies.6 -

For yesterday,
We didn’t hear a peep out of our overnight guest but he was very up and at’em in the morning so an early walk.
I popped out to do a quick food shop then another longer walk around the fields to (try) and wear him ahead of the car journey home.
His M&D arrived and DSS looked surprisingly well after so much celebrating the day before, cuppa & a catch up before they headed home and we collapsed on the sofa, we forgotten how much work a young dog is!
Spent some time with my equine girlie and had a chat with a fellow grey horse owner, hers is a full Irish Draft and a rather handsome chap. My girl gave out kisses like the gracious queen she is.
Tasty tea, stuffed mushrooms with pan fried gnocchi. A sudden death question in Uni Challenge.5 -

Hello.
Recent pleasures:
1) Pale pink blossom against a clear blue sky - epitomises spring. Likewise the just-opening magnolia.
2) Our favourite garden re-opens tomorrow after being closed for the winter. My place of calm and solace, bit like Germolene for the soul, so really looking forward to a sit on my favourite bench in the world ever.
3) Not being able to enter a 15% discount code saved me a lot of money as I gave up in the end and cancelled the order. Didn't need any more tops anyway!
4) Hubby's latest play is in and well-rehearsed and the first night is tonight, pretty much sold out for all four nights. Not his actual 'play what he wrote' but the play he built the set for!
5) Son's partner has asked me to make biscuits or a cake for a coffee morning she is hosting at work on Friday. Lovely excuse to do some baking which I enjoy but have been avoiding doing due to Slim for Summer diet. Planning on making a batch of Twinks' hobnobs and either a Victoria sponge or a carrot and walnut cake and possibly some brownies. Mmmm, then I wonder why I need to be on a diet...
Home alone tonight due to 4) so off to put my feet up and watch girlie telly. May even try out my new face pack. Oh the decadence!
DDoll - keep meaning to say, I went through similar in a previous life many years ago and it was hellish to live through and I remember it well so huge sympathies but you do, eventually, come out the other side.
Enjoy your evening everyone.

Oh I’m so very tired and hopefully might sleep well. I can dream of dreaming .
Up early and we were down at CP for 8.30am. Two nice walks and painting in between. Beautiful day though had to defrost car !
Home at lunchtime.
Sat down to work then friend messaged asking if I’d like a piece of furniture. Yes please. And could she just drop it off now. So she did and we sat and blethered for about an hour and then was just saying cheerio and other friend came in so more blethering ( meanwhile work still to be done!)
Got that sent off which was thankfully just a few add ons to a service that I was sent last night. All okayed so all printed and packed for Thursday service.
And then had 2 new services booked in so had to call new families. So very quickly put Tuesday Tea on! And then called and got the visits booked inAnd quick hoover/hung up washing/set table/fed dogs / felt slightly frazzled 😆
We had roasted everything…chucked in a dish with a drizzle of oil! Sausages, potatoes, parsnips, carrots, onion. With broccoli, peas, sprouts, green beans. And crusty bread. And then shared 2 wee Easter eggs for pudding !Chatter and laughter. And as I’d said to first friend who popped in, I love when everyone comes…love feeding them and table all nice and the chatter and laughter but I also love that time when everyone goes home and it’s just me and my doggy. Tidying up…him hopeful of a leftover anything! And then I moved new to me furniture into its new home and admired it!Big sky filled with stars.6
