Pleasures for Tuesday
1. A lovely sunny day but very cold
2. walk in the fields with little dog
3. Managed to get my lawn in my renovated garden- so worth the cost to get rid of derelict garage and large garden pond.
4. Omelette for tea
5. Watched Adolescence- very moving & so well acted.7 -
Good morning. Sunny and frosty again. Had some lovely days lately.
My beautiful deep plum hellebores are all hanging their heads in the frost but will soon perk up in the sun. We have a collection of pots outside the patio door ( tete a tete, bright orange polyanthus, the hellebore and my new fritillary). They never fail to make me smile every morning when I draw back the curtain.
Dentist for me yesterday . Just before Christmas a filling fell out leaving a sharp bit that caught my cheek but no pain from the tooth at all. Yesterday was the first available appointment! By then the sharp bit had worn down. She did an x-ray and then said I could have the tooth taken out or leave it. I opted to leave well enough alone. £26:80 please! That hurt more than the tooth!
Met a friend for coffee yesterday then bumped into another friend in Boots. Two good natters in one day!
Nothing much today so will continue the spring cleaning. I do love the bright sun but it does show up the cobwebs!
Happy 🌞 day everyone

For yesterday,
Yes to the frosty starts but sunny days, we are meant to hit the dizzy heights of 17 degrees tomorrow!
Catching up on chores, boy dog was keen on destroying his sleeping pad and I kept finding lumps of its stuffing under the chairs. Switched out the door wreath to a daffodil one, cheery against the royal blue of the door.
Did a few surveys then finished my latest book.
Over to the stables, got chatting to someone and of course we had friends in common, the equine world is a small one.
Chicken katsu for tea with WG rice and baby corn.6 -
Hello!Frith hope you’re okay ?Atrocious sleep…so much for being tired ! Anyway up and at ‘em and down at CP for 8.30am. Had to defrost car again and the grass was very frosty when we were walking but a beautiful sky and bird song.Blooming freezing in caravan …0o said the thermostat…but heating popped on when I got in and then sun rises up and above and it’s filled with sunlight. So more of the same…blah blah blah painting! But my vision becomes more of a vision every day! And a throwy ball walk before we left. And home! Washed all the painty clothes and a jumper I’d got from Vinted which was terribly bobbled but more hassle to return …it will be a gardening jumper.Washed car! Hurrah said the car what a rare treat and hoovered the inside which is less of a treat and more of a regular necessity! Topped up water for windscreen and dogs bottle.Chat with neighbour/friend whilst I was out the front.
And got another new service booked.
Got text from vets to say meds were ready which I’d just ordered this afternoon. So popped down to get them. Met my childhood neighbour so had a nice chat with her.And home and I’ve just hoovered and washed floors.Dog was sick outside so had to deal with that! Sigh! Really? So will be on high alert tonight!
The most stunning sunset.6 -
For yesterday,
Frosty start but turned warm later, washing dried on the line.
Green shoots on the chives, blue flowers on the rosemary and tiny violets in the grass.
Long chat with my bf.
My girlie went out without a rug and was enjoying the sun on her back so paid a visit before leaving her out, there has been lot of cold days when we’ve hurried inside so making the most of spring.
Found a box of mini meringue nests so we had some for afters with blueberries & Greek yoghurt.

Morning all.
A glorious day here, cold start but sunny and clear blue skies now. A lovely March so far after a very dull and grey February. Gorgeous Spring weather.
My other pleasures:
1) Long phone call with my brother, catching up and making plans. We are away with them at the weekend again. Going to Bradford, 2025 City of Culture, mainly to see the art works from Bill Bailey's Extraordinary Portraits TV programme and a couple of other art shows and hopefully a visit to Saltaire and Salts Milll - can't resist the books and art supplies and I have birthday money burning a hole in my pocket!
2) To our favourite garden yesterday. Chats with the usual volunteers who greeted us like long-lost friends and had a catch up on all their news. Sat in the sun on 'our' little stone seat overlooking the lake and all the spring flowers. The camellia walk was lovely, another week or so and it will be stunning. Gardener pointed out a beautiful magnolia he planted as a seedling 27 years ago. Lovely to be back.
3) Made oat biscuits and Victoria sponge, just brownies to make today for son's partner's coffee morning tomorrow.
4) Grandson has a couple of job interviews lined up for some part-time work in Uni city.
5) Hubby's play is going well, they have sold out for every night of the run. I am going tonight, looking forward to seeing the live kestrel who apparently steals the show and is called Kes in 'real life'!
A quick coffee and then will get the brownies made before son drags me up hill and down dale on our walk, I'd like to say it was getting easier!
Hope you have some sunshine to enjoy where you are6 -
Hope Frith is okay. Her team beat OHs the other night, but his team are still top of the league.
A good few days, where has the week gone?I went food shopping on Monday and friend came round and enjoyed my homemade spicy butternut squash soup 🍜 for lunch.
Tuesday morning I went swimming (44 lengths) and then OH and I went for our much postponed lunch and free bottle of birthday wine. Gammon and wine both enjoyed. Home and had millionaires’s cheesecake for pudding (50p a portion rather paying £7+ in the pub - there’s my MSE bits).
Met my friend at the garden centre yesterday and had a cheese scone and then she bought me a pavlova 😋 and a tray of violas as a belated birthday treat. No dinner for me, just some more of my soup.
Swimming again this morning (48 lengths) and my friend who I met yesterday came for the first time in many years, hopefully she’ll get back into it.
Then met 3 other friends and their dogs in the lovely local park for a catch up and a cuppa and roll. We chose the right day for it , 18 degrees! Also had a chat with an old colleague in the park. Good day for friendship.
Back home and sat in the sunshine for a while, listening to my book.
7 more Vinted parcels sent off this week.
Enjoy the rest of the sunny day.5 -
Hello. Busy day!
up early. Beautiful sunrise.
Work this morning. I was putting stuff in the car and the dog assumed we were going out together as usual and was all excited…sorry pal, just me.Beautiful service. Lovely feedback from the family.
Had an hour between service and a work meeting so I went to nice charity shop and hit the sale rail! Got a beautiful dress for work for £2 , a jacket for work for £3 and a long jumper for caravan wearing ( I’m thinking early mornings/ evenings when it’s a bit cooler on top of jammies) for £2.00 then I found a duvet set that I bought for the fabric for £4 ( considering what I’ve just spent on new sets grrrr) came home and washed them and hung them out, duvet set looks very nice so I may use as for bedding…seems a shame to cut it up.Work meeting went well . Was just re-introducing myself to someone I’m working for next week. And home and hello doggy. No more sick thankfully.
And out! To meet a new family. The Chap very kindly drove me as it was out my comfort zone for driving. So him and his doggy enjoyed a walk at the beach whilst I was working.Home, quick chat to sister whilst I had some food cooking in airfryer. At that then a wee 15 minutes snoozette then back to work! Sat and wrote and wrote. So it’s been sent off and I do the hard bit of waiting!Nice chat to friend.7 -
Pleasures for today.
1. Positive feedback from new team
2. sharing knowledge
3. Chocolate
4. Saw the moon on drive into work
5. Cheese & Onion pasty - my favourite5 -
thanks @Highdays it is indeed hellish but Gaza is so very much worse. I have a lot to be grateful for.
1) using the current leadership as a case study in my leadership teaching (no point wasting it!)
2) going for a walk with a colleague at lunch time
3) leaving early to take only dog to the vet (he's got an infected ear) - only dog was very well behaved considering a) he doesn't like going to the vet b) his ear is sore and the vet took a swab
4) singing - choir - we practised for nearly 2 hours as we have evensong next Sunday
5) calling in at the pub for the last 20 minutes of the Scotland game - couple of friends there from the uni
yes I have a lot to be grateful for.
