3 Planted some bleeding hearts and a couple of primroses.
4 A strange dinner of a chop and something hoisted from the freezer which was apparently a corned beef hash brown.
5 Pancakes…

Pleasures for today (Tuesday)
1) Not a bad sleep.
2) Had marmalade on toast for breakfast. Hadn't bought any for years.
3) Went into town to pick up a prescription then went to M and S for a cup of tea and to buy pancakes.
4) Also looked round TKMaxx and bought some pencils. I've been going to art class for 6 weeks so it was about time I owned a pencil.
5) Liquidised the soup made yesterday (roast veg and lentil) and had that for lunch then pancakes with treacle, lemon and sultanas.
6) Tidied up, did a load of washing and cleaned the bathroom.
7) Smaller son wanted to look round Morrisons so we popped there.
8) Chicken fajitas for tea.
9) Talked to smaller son for a while.
10) Watched Sort Your Life Out.5 -
Pleasures for Tuesday
1. Chat with line manager re possible complaint - been reassured.
2. Last shift working with my old team, was good.
3. Looking forward to challenges of new team to manage.
4. Managed 12 hours overtime this week, need to build house fund & holiday fund up.
5. Got home at 3.45am now on 5 days off, hope the sunshine lasts.
PS Lainey love Harrogate, Ripon and Pately Bridge especially with a bit of sunshine6 -
For yesterday,
After a cold start we had sunshine and lots of it so washing out on the line has to be a pleasure.
Had an errand in the village so swung by the GC to stock up on bird food where a couple of trays with giant primroses jumped into my trolley, will be perfect to add some colour to pots & borders.
Early over to the stables as the vet was coming to take blood for the strangles test as required by our new yard. My girlie was happy to see her Mum after a few days away and was very snuggly.
As it was the vet was late, then said HE doesn’t like injections does he, err SHE’s fine. Then his trainee took her time, needed several goes with the needle and all the time my girl waited patiently, no fidgeting or moving around, bless her stoicism. Couldn’t help but comment that it’s a good thing she’s ok with needles!
Home, tired and ready for a cuppa, realised that it was the first time I had sat down since breakfast.
An old Delia recipe for tea, braised sausages in cider, very tasty.8 -
Morning all.
Blue skies and sunshine on my birthday morning. Yay!!
Some pleasures:
1) Had a lovely couple of days away with brother and SIL. More mini-breaks with them in the pipeline.
2) Had a successful shopping trip yesterday afternoon, normally hate clothes shopping but found some nice things to update my spring wardrobe. Haha, that sounds very posh, mostly tops to wear with jeans! Every change of season I seem to have nothing right to wear!
3) Lost another half pound this week in spite of being away, must have been all the walking. This was a pleasure til I realised, reading your posts, that I had completely forgotten it was Pancake Day which might have meant half a pound on instead but would have been worth it!
4) A big pleasure to wake up this morning a year older but thankfully still not grown up. Hooray!!!!
5) Lunch out and a trip to the theatre this evening, lovely cards and good wishes, flowers and a wonderful present of more theatre tickets, people are so thoughtful, I am very lucky.
Have a good day, whatever you are up to.

Pleasures for today (Wednesday)
1) A lie in!
2) Did various bits of tidying up and changed my bed.
3) Smaller son has been discussing brewing beer so we went out to the local beer making shop and bought the starter kit. We will set it running tomorrow. It is an interesting Black Country village (where the shop is) as most of my relations come from there - my grandma had over 100 cousins - so I said to smaller son that anyone who looks familiar who we drive past will be related to us! Then we drove past the lane that is literally named after my ancestors!
4) Made a chicken tray bake for tea.
5) My brother popped round and we watched the Benfica/Barcelona match.5 -
Pleasures for Wednesday
1. Sleep
2. day off
3 Doggy walk with friend in the sunshine.
4. Picked up pastries & baguettes from olio
5. Finished watching Unforgotten & caught up on Call The Midwife.5 -
Good morning. Sunny again. We've had frosty early mornings but beautiful bright sunny days recently, with some actual warmth in the sun by afternoon. Love it!
Belated birthday greetings, @Highdays. I hope you had a lovely day with some sunshine x
Yesterday we went to the wildlife park ( we have annual passes). There was quite a nip in the air at first so I was wearing hat, scarf gloves etc and most animals were sensibly sheltering inside. On our walk back I was carrying hat, scarf etc and most animals had ventured out. Many were obviously enjoying the spring weather and positively gambolling about. Even the hyena😂
Today DH has an early doctor's appointment. As it's a fasting blood test, first stop afterwards will have to be a cafe. We don't want him fading away😂
Happy 🌞 day everyone
