What an atrocious day it’s turned out to be…absolutely lashing with rain and cold and windy and more suited to November than June!Anyway we were up and out when it was still nice this morning! Beautiful sunrise. Just us and the birds.Nipped into town this morning to go to bank. Quick round M&S and back to car. Gave someone the half hour left on ticket,
Home. Finished off my work. Got a lovely response from the family about my script. Then went out for lunch. Was meeting my mentor and we had a good chat and laugh and food was really good. We were running through the service I’ll be holding tomorrow which I’ve not done yet. So run through done and I’m happy with what is expected of me.And home. In the rain! Hello doggy. I’m back in and ain’t going out again! A political party came round the doors and I just opened door a fraction ( was trying to stop dog getting out) and said sorry I won’t be voting for your party. And cheerio…
I used to be quite politically minded but now I honestly cannot be bothered listening to all their untruths and empty promises! Though I did get my voting papers today…and it was indeed paper inside an envelope and not the usual card. And I will vote. Just don’t want to hear all the nonsense!Anyway I absolutely do not need dinner tonight. Still stuffed!6 -
Pleasures for today (Thursday)
1) Not a bad sleep.
2) Went to the tip again!
3) Went to floody town for the charity shops and bought a top for me and a t shirt for bigger son. Also bought a book and card for my dad for father's day.
4) B and Q for more paint.
5) Did one more coat of paint on my bedroom ceiling and walls where the fitted wardrobe used to be.
6) Used the new caulk and gun and caulked everything in the house! Until I ran out of caulk.
7) Sainsburys order just arrived.4 -
For yesterday,
Capt S up early doors to pick up DSS and fiancée from airport so did the same and was in the emporium for 7am. Home and made a loaf for the young people to take home with them.
The travellers arrived back, lots of hugs and admiring of a very beautiful ring, boy did good! Coffee, breakfast and a catch up.
Our visitors left for home and I went over the yard, weather had really deteriorated by this point so girlie had a good groom before turning out all rugged up, the horses must be wondering what’s going on with this cold weather.
Cup of tea then off out again, this time for small dog’s monthly injection, couldn’t help but smile at her theatrical sigh as we sat in the waiting room. Noticed the camera crew outside of our small theatre which apparently has now started showing films as well, made mental note to book some tickets.
Watched a bit of cricket and then an early night, extra blanket on bed, bbrrr!

From The Gallops, on a day of unrelenting, crashing downpours, momentarily paused.
1. 14 bits of dropped call from a MrT with connectivity, but finally sorted transport to BROH+Mr Parry for Tuesday. What will happen will happen.

2. Finished Miriam Margolyes' autobiography, 'This Much Is True'. My goodness! and My word!
3. Asked to help at funeral yesterday, glad I could and did.
4. So very glad I then made it to Town of Gown for this:
'Sarah MnatzaganianAnglo-Armenian poet will read from her award-winning debut 'Lemonade in the Armenian Quarter', a vivid series of poems celebrating her family in Jerusalem and the UK.Sue Wallace-Shadda will read poems which relate to surviving conflict in an international context. She will focus on her 2023 pamphlet, Sleeping Under Clouds and new poems about her family’s flight from the crisis in Sudan.'
Truly wonderful and I have been re-reading Sarah's today. Will save for the others. Both are warm, articulate and gifted writers and speakers.
5. This painting in Milton library, where osp 4 was held....oh well, it'll be here eventually.CAP[UK]for FREE EXPERT DEBT &BUDGET HELP:

Good morning. It's cold!
We're back after a lovely 10 days visiting our friends who live in Spain. Where it's warm! And sunny! And even warm in an evening! And wine is cheap! ( they were complaining that it's now €1.20 per bottle). Not quite sure why we came back 😂
We had a great time doing very little, chatting, laughing, catching up (DH and his friend met in Infant school - 70 years ago) Maybe drinking some wine. It was just what we needed.
Not read all back yet ( WiFi was a bit iffy but I didn't care!) But I see Suffolk Sue is back and has had the op. Hooray Sue. I'm so pleased
Happy cold day everyone7 -
Warm weather sounds very appealing at the moment HappyCas!
For yesterday,
Out early as the beautiful grey one had the physio coming, no problems just a good deep massage and he commented how strong her back muscles were getting, it’s all the groundwork we’ve been doing.
Chat in the kitchen over a cuppa with him and others.
Home, lunch then out again to get some petrol, as Amps said it was now wet & squally and that’s the way it stayed well into the evening.
Capt S finished for the day and given the above we opted for an afternoon on the sofa watching a film, The Great Escaper with Sir Michael Caine and Glenda Jackson, wonderful true story about a DDay veteran that goes missing from his care home with a trip to France to commemorate the 70th anniversary, very poignant.
Greek pie for tea then settled down to watch the Scotland match but a dream start against the hosts wasn’t to be, onwards.5
