Looks fab PH
For yesterday
Bit of a driving around kind of day, pleasures of rural living!Few chores first thing then small dog had her hydrotherapy, met the most gorgeous golden retriever puppy who was being puppysat by reception while her cat sister was in with the vet, made me puppy broody!
Quick lunch then over to see pony, she was in a happier mood and blew lots of kisses into my face. Chat with friend over a cup of tea.
Home then out again, small dog back in car and off to vets, she wasn’t so happy to go into this building but had treats from both vet & ladies on reception so mollified a tad.
Egg & chips for tea.6 -
Morning all.
Back from our trip, totally shattered, having fun can be exhausting!
Some pleasures:
1) Little grandson enjoyed Legoland. We've now taken all three of them and this will definitely be our last time for sure so glad he had fun and did everything he wanted to do ... and then did it again the next day! Sounds like we were very lucky with the weather with just a bit of mild drizzle the first day, missed the big rain a lot of you had.
2) He was a total delight, he is the sweetest natured of them all and very amusing company.
3) Hotel staff fell for him too and made him fresh waffles with maple syrup and cream for breakfast every morning.
4) All the pleasures of home, nothing compares to your own bed, a very big sleep last night.
5) Wedding anniversary today so lunch out and a trip to the garden centre for bedding plants then feet up and a couple of episodes of Rebus tonight. Had enough of life in the fast lane for a couple of days!!
Have good BH weekend.6 -

Hello!Up early
Went up to castle. Was very wet so had a soggy doggy. A coat and boots kind of walk.
Home and sat and wrote service script…pressed send and just got lovely feedback. So I’ve cleared the ‘desk’ back into the dining table and put my flowers ( in a Pyrex jug as vases are packed) in the middle.Chat to sister this afternoon. It’s the anniversary of mum dying. Two years ago.Read for a bit. Pup was here so DD2 picked him up.Reading a page turner of a book but chores to be done! So I’ve just cleaned the kitchen worktops, hoovered and washed the floors and put my work stuff away. So I’m tidy in a packed up boxes everywhere kind of way!So now I can go back to my book!Got the patio door open a bit and listening to the birds. Dry since late afternoon.7 -
@Highdays - sounds like the best kind of anniversary - relaxing. Glad you had such a fun time at Legoland - kids grow so fast. Have to enjoy them being young while they can - before they turn into teenagers!7

Hello weenancy - you are so right. We are so lucky to have been very involved with our grandchildren since they were babies and it's lovely watching them grow into fine young men but it happens so fast as you say. It won't be long now before little fella doesn't want to hold my hand any more, he's getting very grown up and independent which is lovely and heartbreaking at the same time!7

For yesterday,
Into Uni city for a haircut, football chat and a read of my book, lovely hairdresser is talking about moving the business out of the city which would be lovely with the parking costs involved.
Major A road near us closed due to accident so messaged the yard asking if they could give girlie her medication to save me fighting through inevitable traffic in horsey town to take alternative route.
So unexpected afternoon at home, sat in the garden for a bit and small dog fell asleep at my feet.
Darling Capt S came home with a bunch of flowers for me, have been a bit down this week.
Honey glazed ribs for tea, very yum with coleslaw & salad.6 -
thinking of you mhags
for yesterday
1) coffee with an alumni and my programme lead - lovely to see them both
2 tubs of salad, one for lunch, one for supper - red cabbage, pasta, feta cheese and a slice of cooked black pudding sprinkled on top
3) which meant i had 2 empty tupperwares when i left for colleague's leaving drinks and saw 20 vegetable kebabs in the fridge lo from a work lunch (there were also donuts and wraps) - each kebab was a slice of cooked courgette, cherry tomato, mushroom and pepper and they would have been thrown out Monday so i stripped them into my 2 tupperwares - very mse
4) drinks were lovely (not very mse cos i bought the first round - the privelege of being the prof!)
5) then called in at mennies for MrG's birthday - I had a couple of pints of water (being sensible)
and for today
1) brunch with mum and a friend
2) long phone call from my ex - well i guess one can't be together for 30 years and parent 3 children without having nothing in common - I sat in the garden - the sun was out
3) a lovely dog walk - we've had a fair bit of rain and everything is so green
4) 2nd half of the cup game - full pub, 2 sets on the Celtic Rangers game with the sound up and MrG, DrM and myself watching the FA cup final on the 3rd set - strange watching one footie game to the sound of another
5) home and helped cut the lawn on the communal garden
