For yesterday,
Popped into horsey town early doors as needed a few bits, quick coffee with my friend.
Over to the yard in the morning as wanted to avoid the rain, girlie was fast asleep when I got there, laying down in her stable with her head resting in her bed of shavings. First job was to remove some of these from her bottom lip! Groom then a lunge where she was surprisingly woohoo.
Lunch, no Capt S this week as he in a satellite office dealing with auditors, missed him so texted and told him so.
Then the heavy rain come over as forecasted, few surveys done and book read, The Mannngtree Witches about the shenanigans of Matthew Hopkirk.
Salmon & spinach pasta for tea, more Chelsea then Cold Case Investigations. I had heard an interview with one of the victims on Woman’s Hour and whose attacker had finally been convicted 22 years later due to advances in DNA profiling.7 -
Good afternoon. We've had some lovely weather lately but today it's very rainy rain.
Oh Ampersand. How very annoying. Glad you're ok though even if Wi-Fi is not.
Mhagster - I'm in awe at your house move organisation. We've never moved house ( been here 51 years this August!) But we did sell our caravan last year. Only a 2 bed caravan that we'd had just 7 years and the amount of ' stuff' was astonishing.
Had a busy morning ( well, for us !)
Trip to charity shop to take donations ( and have a coffee in their cafe)
Trip to local carpet shop to begin the process of buying a new lounge/ dining room carpet. They advertise a 'gold' standard which includes taking up and taking away the old carpet and moving furniture where needed. That sounds good to us!
Called at chemist to collect my antihistamine prescription. Much needed at the moment.
DD is going to pop in at tea time so I think I'll make her some shortbread. I've still got some gluten free flour left from making her Christmas treats so I might as well use it up.
Happy ☔ afternoon everyone

1 The house is cleanish, our bedding and the ferret bedding all done again, in fact anything that can be cleaned and washed I think has been.
2 Packed food and clothes to the van, and cleaned the van up.
3 Printed out some bits for the interview, nervous but feeling very positive now.
4 I went through the summer clothes, but a fair amount is now very faded / washed out now, a lot to go.
5 Ordered in.

Pleasures for today (Wednesday)
1) Good to wake up. Cricked neck was waking me about every 20 minutes.
2) Had a ghastly day of breath taking neck pain and general sadness. Smaller son brought me a toasted sandwich and cup of tea plus the laptop to watch the football at 8pm.
3) Told MrM that we will just be friends from this point. Thought about MrU sadly then re-read his saved WhatsApps from months ago and was stunned by the nastiness within. Good to remember that.
4) Very exciting news about the election and hopefully some paid work for me.
5) Smaller son has made an appointment tomorrow to get his ear unblocked.7 -
hooray for kind children frith
1) bounced out of bed, workout with 2nd half of countryfile
2) dashed up road (it's very steep so no mean feat!) and just caught bus which was good as meant i was there to help colleague with very important visitors
3) lunch on city campus with very important visitors (the mse bit of me says free lunch)
4) haggis for supper, yum (and enough left for lunch tomorrow)
5) UEFA cup final with MrG and DrM. enjoyable evening and now i'm in bed with a cuppa and the archers

For yesterday,
Rotten night left me with a bad headache so quiet morning so just read my book for a bit then, unusually for me, had a mid morning nap but felt better for it.
A few surveys and a bit of financial planning for next month.
Almost constant rain all day and bbrrr cold, equine pal had got wet overnight and was still in a grumpy mood when I went over after lunch, clean dry rug put on and she went out again.
Feeling a bit low but buoyed by a long chat with my bf.
Cauliflower and paneer curry, was tasty.7 -
Well!
I've deleted all social media and WhatsApp (my hand is twitching to pick up my phone), just to get rid of MrM and to feel a bit better.
I'm going to stay at home for a few weeks (only a few days at work) and will reappear in 3 weeks (or maybe on my birthday). I'd like to say I'll be 2 stones lighter and all the gloss in the house will be repainted, but we shall see.
See you soon.8 -
Always good to have a complete recharge Frith, take care of yourself5
