1 More gardening, a lot of gardening, it's that time of year.
2 Started packing up the van.
3 I placed an order with a local butcher, feels like an extravagance, but I suspect the order will surpass supermarket, but it’s the treat as it will be to take with us on the break. I’m hoping they might inc. a few bits for the ferrets to try after I asked nicely.
4 Nice simple tea of chicken, greens, and mash with gravy tonight
5 Got a 3-year free extended warranty on something I bought for DH’s birthday.

For yesterday,
Off early to Cathedral city to visit my favourite bookshop, this time for a present for DB. It’s an independent and a wonderful place, small but packed to the gills, could spend all day in there but was restrained and only got what I come for. The ship of the fens looked wonderful in the early morning sunshine.
Both of my best girls had their birthdays today, small dog is 13 and equine pal was 12, dog adores cocktail sausages so a packet picked up for her along with carrots, parsnips and apples for the beautiful grey ones tea.
Off to the yard, long groom for my girl and then she was turned out in the warm sunshine, picked some cow parsley for an extra treat.
DB popped in and picked up his pressie, along with one for my DN who has a birthday as well this week, we sat in the garden and caught up on family news.
Gardens, gardens, gardens with some GW followed by Chelsea, don’t think I could cope with the crowds so happy to watch on the tele.

Hello.Up early.Out in the garage and got it all swept and shelves wiped down. Had one last ( I hope) item to give away free. Was collected within 10 minutes of posting on FB.
Went out in the garden. Did a bit of weeding . Transplanted a verbena to come with me. Gathered more garden nicknacks. Washed my garden mirrors and the snails and spiders behind them aren’t coming! Then walked round to friends and off we went for lunch in my new local pub! We sat outside and enjoyed a very nice 2 course meal. I had pate and then a burger and it was all very nice! Sat in sun for a bit then moved under the parasol. Had a lovely catch up which was nice…then had a stalk around the outside of my house! Saying that’s my dining room that’s my bedroom!Home. Just got dropped off at hers and walked round. It’s a faff to drive round the long way! Was very warm.
However as forecast big rain clouds rolled in at 4pm and we had rain. Which cleared the air and watered the garden. And just had a change to tomorrow’s work schedule which suits me slightly better. Won’t be as hectic.9 -
Pleasures for yesterday (Monday)
1) Not a bad sleep.
2) Went to my old school to do some invigilation.
3) Finished before 1 so I went to floody city. Had lunch at the Colombian cafe. Then got a few bits and had a cup of tea in Waitrose!
4) Smaller son's ear is blocked up so we had a quick jaunt to the pharmacy.
5) Made kebabs for tea with rice.
6) Heard from MrM so went over there. I can't go into detail as it involves other people but a message sent on Saturday from him had contained the mother of all google translate errors. There was a good 20 minutes of conversation that went, "Wait... what?"
and for today (Tuesday)
1) Not a bad sleep.
2) Walked into town and met my mum for some lunch.
3) Went to the college but there weren't enough hairdressers to cut my hair so I walked home again!
4) Finally (what a rigmarole) managed to phone the doctor for the anaemia tests. She pointed out I hadn't had one in a year. It's a wonder I'm alive! I did say on the online form could I have one "without having to go through the 10 Labours of Hercules, please" and she laughed at that on the phone.
5) Mowed the last of the lawns.
6) Flatbreads with meatballs for tea.7 -
1 A long dentist appointment, they did a lot of work and I now have a temporary crown, a pleasure it’s done, distinctly not a pleasure in cost. Oh, I also took in Freddo the ferret to visit them as they wondered what a ferret was, and they loved him of course, it at least didn’t make the visit more expensive 😊
2 The butcher delivered our order, kindly with things for the animals to try.
3 I have a surprise interview next week, I’m very pleased and will also be spending this evening researching.
4 A friend got in contact, good to hear from them.
5 Sent a token birthday pressie to DB.

For yesterday,
Popped into horsey town early doors as needed a few bits, quick coffee with my friend.
Over to the yard in the morning as wanted to avoid the rain, girlie was fast asleep when I got there, laying down in her stable with her head resting in her bed of shavings. First job was to remove some of these from her bottom lip! Groom then a lunge where she was surprisingly woohoo.
Lunch, no Capt S this week as he in a satellite office dealing with auditors, missed him so texted and told him so.
Then the heavy rain come over as forecasted, few surveys done and book read, The Mannngtree Witches about the shenanigans of Matthew Hopkirk.
Salmon & spinach pasta for tea, more Chelsea then Cold Case Investigations. I had heard an interview with one of the victims on Woman’s Hour and whose attacker had finally been convicted 22 years later due to advances in DNA profiling.7 -
Good afternoon. We've had some lovely weather lately but today it's very rainy rain.
Oh Ampersand. How very annoying. Glad you're ok though even if Wi-Fi is not.
Mhagster - I'm in awe at your house move organisation. We've never moved house ( been here 51 years this August!) But we did sell our caravan last year. Only a 2 bed caravan that we'd had just 7 years and the amount of ' stuff' was astonishing.
Had a busy morning ( well, for us !)
Trip to charity shop to take donations ( and have a coffee in their cafe)
Trip to local carpet shop to begin the process of buying a new lounge/ dining room carpet. They advertise a 'gold' standard which includes taking up and taking away the old carpet and moving furniture where needed. That sounds good to us!
Called at chemist to collect my antihistamine prescription. Much needed at the moment.
DD is going to pop in at tea time so I think I'll make her some shortbread. I've still got some gluten free flour left from making her Christmas treats so I might as well use it up.
Happy ☔ afternoon everyone
