DD - take care of yourself. I, too, am working a bit too hard (especially for a semi-semi retired person) but it's because i have some self-imposed deadlines in order to do nice things! It'll all ease off soon.
Pleasures for yesterday
1. A bit of a lie in
2. some bonus marking (as in i wasn't expecting to do any) to ease the pressure
3. gardening in the (eventual) sunshine
4. OH painted the garden wall - looks fab. We 'made hay' when the neighbour had a shed taken down and reduced the height of the common wall. It's really opened up our garden.
5. fish and chips with the gang - fish out of the batter and only a few chips made it OK slimming world-wise.
Enjoy the sunshine if you have it.I wanna be in the room where it happens7 -
Up early and a lovely doggy walk at 5.15am just us and the birds. Was nice to be out in the cool of the morning after a warm night.
Dull this morning but brightened up by lunchtime and has been roasting since.Finished work and printed off my scripts.Just in time for DD2 and The Chap to arrive. We were going to a food festival…well I was going so they came too! Was down at our local castle so we parked nearby and walked down. Waited in a queue for hot food for over half an hour! Was nice to see our park so busy and such a lovely day!Met a friend on the way back to the car so quick chat with her!And home and hello dogs! DD and chap were going down to see the birthday boy! So I kept pup for another couple of hours.
Was outside for a wee while but really too warm for me. My garden is such a sun trap.Sister phoned.Had a big empire biscuit from the food festival for my tea!Catching up on Australian MasterChef. And just been out to water the back garden. Needed a good soak.11 -
1) did a workout while watching Gardeners World - excellent combination and want to try the celery in a bucket
2) met ex colleague at fave French restaurant in Perth - what a lovely lovely catch-up - then in came someone from colleague with his wife and they sat at the table next to us - then my ex colleague said of the people behind me 'isn't that x' and there was one of my colleagues with her husband and 2 others - small world!
3) caught the train home and there was my neighbour catching the same train - we had a lovely catch-up - it's nearly 2 years since her lovely husband died, we talked lots about him
4) then mennies for the last game of the premiership with DrM.
5) and now i'm just back from walking the boys - I love the trees this time of the year - and watching a rather fun John Betjeman programme with Nigel Hawthorne on BBC then it'll be bed.

Pleasures for today (Sunday)
1) Not a bad sleep.
2) No reply from MrM (of course!) so no drama. More than 24 hours now.
3) Went for a walk then received an email that Arabic was cancelled for today so I thought I would carry on walking.
4) Walked to canal town and had a vegan breakfast, pot of tea and a lovely glass of orange juice. I never buy orange juice (don't know why) and it was very refreshing as it was a hot walk.
5) 10 miles of walking and I stopped at M and S for a pot of tea.
6) Got home and walked up and down the street a bit so I could pass the 13 mile mark!
7) Made toad in the hole for tea.
8) Spoke to my school friend on the phone.
9) Lost 3lbs.8 -
For yesterday,
Bacon butties and catching up on all things Ambridge.
Out in the garden, the snails have absolutely mullered the allium leaves but the big pom-pom flowers are going strong, the pollinators love them along with the geraniums, the lavender will be out soon as well. The tomato plants will be going out this week. Love love May.
Forgot the time and then it was a quick shower & change as DSIL plus lovely partner were heading over to go out to lunch with us, linen dress and sandals as very warm.
Village pub did us proud food wise with a special mention for the lemon tart and then back to ours for a sit in the garden, lovely catch up.
Our visitors went home but we stayed sitting outside, enjoying the twilight and watching the bats circling the cottage.

From the Decks!
Oh the Admiral does like a decent tart, must tries a lemon one!
All ship shape here.
Windas outside painted downstairs. All good and no paw prints.
Has me usual snorkers and best back on Saturday, with poached eggs on fried toast. Tee was taken. We has sarnies on the plaza in the comfy outdoor chairs.
Barbecued chicken tikka on Saturday night, home made. I saw the emporiums were awash with their stained versions! AVOID! Wobbleades were taken, with some apple fired wooden cheese bits! Other cheeses are available!
Had pan roasted salmon yesterday, with home made parsley sauce, minted tates peas and carrots. Then home made spotted richard with proper birds custard. Did I mention that we has a new toy? An air fryer? Very good for the pan crusted salmon!
At the docks the morrow, so no report!
Jenny is on her farewell tour! Sends her
I work from home so my cat can be fed on demand!9 -
Morning all.
Dipping in briefly to say catch you later in the week, we are busy packing to take littlest fella for his birthday treat trip to Legoland.
Quick pleasures:
1) Little chap is very, very excited about his trip.
2) I am very, very excited at the prospect of spending lots of time with him over the next few days.
3) Weather forecasrt isn't brill but we are going in the car so can pack for all eventualities.
4) Not my favourite sort of hoiliday but have treated ourselves to a very nice hotel so rooms and meals will be excellent hopefully. Also a nice pool area so we can relax when we get back, queuing for rides and suchlike is unbelievably tiring.
5) Plasterers started early doors this morning so when we get back the new kitchen and family room should all be plastered. A big step forwatd.
Have a good week, will catch up at the weekend.9 -
For yesterday
1. marking batch finished - ahead of schedule. Frees up some time to sort the house and get ready for the first festival of the season!
2. a walk by the sea in beautiful sunshine, but with a sea mist.
3. collected logs to bring back here ready for next winter.
4. back from 3 to have a well-earned breakfast with bacon and egg etc, no snorkers though
5. good drive back given we were laden. Easy tea and an episode of the responder
enjoy your day all.I wanna be in the room where it happens7 -
Morning all 😊
Spent quite a lot of time in the garden at the weekend, planting the green bean plants, dead heading, feeding, prettifying (me) digging out endless weeds and ivy (OH). Can only do about an hour at a time but it is looking nice if you don’t look too carefully. Some golden orange poppies are giving me real pleasure 😊. Don’t know what will happen when we go on holiday for 2 weeks, friend will do some watering the second week but can’t do much. A lot of the time I was sitting in the shade in my recliner, listening to my audio book and enjoying an ice cream 🍦
Found a plumber (through App called Next Door) to replace annoying dripping loose kitchen tap, reseal kitchen sink and shower (which hadn’t been sealed properly when it was put in). Good to find a nice reliable tradesman who will do small jobs.
Went to our White Water Centre for lunch on the terrace. The taverna was open and it was good practice for our Greek island holiday in a few weeks as friend and I enjoyed chicken souvlaki wrap and mythos 🍺 😊☀️
Busy week this week with trip to coast tomorrow with bestie, London theatre trip on Thursday to see Witness for the Prosecution and hospital appointment and hygienist appointment thrown in in between!
Have a good Monday everyone 😊

Hello
I’ve just came upstairs! Bedtime. Started a new book so want to read that with a slightly cooler breeze coming through my bedroom window.Up early. The Chap came over to help me with a work thing ( me and the laptop don’t get on) work stuff is now all prepped.Son called as I was on my way to supermarket. So chatted with him.Sat for a wee bit outside then came in. Hoovered downstairs/upstairs. Cleaned my bathroom.Got an email that was kind of work related, inviting me to a wee event next week…and even better I’ll just have had my haircut!! So somewhere to actually go whilst I look momentarily nice!Mobile library…which was to be my last visit and is my last visit but I borrowed some books and my neighbour friend will return them for me. I’m in a ready mood. But I’ll have a new library to join when I move.
Plumber came to fix something. I was talking to neighbour/friend on our way back from library and he called saying I’m at your house…I’m just coming 😆
Got a work call so another service booked for next week.Quick call to sister ( she’s my work bestie…who I share work stuff with !) she’s my cheerleader.Had RTC chicken Kyiv and sprouts and peas. Ate in the garden.Sat for another hour or so reading.Just cleaned front window…and if a bird does a poop I’ll not be happy! Saw window cleaners driving out the street the other day without doing mine so think they maybe think I’ve gone! No…I’m still here with a bird poop down my front window!!8
