Hello
It’s turned into a lovely evening after a wild rainy day!Up early then dozed off again after being out with the dog.
Chat to friend and said do you fancy lunch if I can book a table. So yes she did and we could only get a table at 12 as they had lots of bookings. This is my favourite place ( where I go with dog midweek) but we had such a disastrous experience on my birthday that I was given a voucher. Anyway we had a very nice mocktail and a main course and a soft drink. Went to pay and there was about £6 left on it and young girl said I’m sorry we don’t give change…however luckily owner was there and said oh we do for this lady! So I’ve a wee drop left for another day plus I have another voucher that I got as a birthday gift. We had a nice couple of hours chatting and eating.Home. And wasn’t long in when DD2 called to see if I was in as she was dropping off the chap at the bus stop at this end of town. So her and the pup were here for a couple of hours.
i made lemonade scones as I had leftover cream and leftover from my birthday party lemonade. Enjoyed straight out the oven with jam on them.9 -
1 We’ve spent the last couple of days tidying the garden, what started as a strim and mow turned into re laying the patio and de cluttering the random stuff.
2 We are halfway through the patio, and today picked up a half tonne in total of sand and cement,
3 De cluttered the garden and left a lot of things out the front for the scrap man, what we can’t fathom is every time we do it’s literally gone in about 10 minutes flat, this time it was as we were still putting stuff out.
4 First slices of warm apple pie were as delicious as I remember.
5 Watching Dirk Gently, I’m surprised I haven’t read it.

Pleasures for today (Saturday)
1) Not a bad sleep.
2) Went to Park Run first thing for tea and cake. I was invited out for tea (next week) by 2 ladies.
3) Got home and another letter for MrU. So I redirected that. Then I walked into town and back (4 miles). For the first time since I left school at 16, I tried having a little run once or twice...
4) Went to the football at 3. Penultimate game of the season and we have now been relegated to National League North for next season. Smaller son was so upset at the end that I said, "Oh, I'm going to go down next to the grass and clap the players as they walk round and wave to the fans" so he could remain standing at the top of the terraces and have an uninterrupted cry.
5) Didn't really know what to do once home from the football so I started sorting the garage. 1.5 hours later, everything was put away/recycled/left for the scrapman. I then spent half an hour hoovering the porch then washing all its windows.
6) Watched Casualty.8 -
Hello again.
A lovely sunny day yesterday but back to the standard rain and grey skies today, Hey ho.
Some pleasures:
1) Had a little family flutter on the Grand National in memory of my dad and his favourite race day. Brother chose one horse in each race and three won albeit not the 'biggie'. Anyway, enough winnings in the pot to have another go next time.
2) Hubby spent some time in A & E, his lip swelled so much it looked like a hefty dose of Botox gone wrong. Thankfully not a tooth abcess, either an allergy or an insect bite and meds given.
3) Plans underway for our holiday to Northumberland the week after next with brothers and their wives. All had been up in the air waiting for test results and the like but, fingers crossed, looks like we will make it.
4) Third of the three grandsons are back at school/college next week, then it's the run up to A Levels for one and GCSEs for another. Not much pleasure there but they need the discipline of being back and keeping more regular hours. What a mean granny I am for even thinking this!!
5) A treat bar of chocoate after tea. Yum!
And now to bed. Night night.9 -
For yesterday,
Early start as Capt S was heading up Norf to go to the football with youngest DSS, said goodbye at 6 and then took a cup of tea back to bed.
Productive morning, made a loaf, changed the bed and hoovered out the mini.
Lovely day with lots of warm sunshine, went over to the yard and did some work with my pony, trotting over poles today. Kept half an eye on the footie and Utd got a much needed point at home.
Lovely evening walk with small dog, she was full of beans off the lead and belied her years running ahead of me.
With my beloved being away for the night there was no need for a big cooked meal so I had a scotch egg salad with a piece of fresh bread then watched a rare Midsomer Murders that I hadn’t seen before.

morning everyone 😊
Feeling much better, so back to doing things although still not swimming as need to give the perforated ear drum time to heal.
Very belated lunch out with friend on Wednesday, a nice Italian, had chicken fungi and a glass of wine.
OH is now on summer work pattern so has Thursday off and works Sunday. So we went for an early dinner to use his voucher for birthday bottle of wine 🍷. It was a local pub that does enormous Yorkshire puddings which are quite famous (been in national newspaper) and they were enormous! Left more than half of it so will share if we go again.
Friday and Saturday were nice warm days so I did a lot of tidying and repotting of baskets and pots. OH cut the grass so it all looks nice if you ignore the huge border which is taken over by ivy! Also moved on some herb and pepper seeds from the propogator although they are all muddled up so don’t know what’s what 🤣
Out for lunch today to local pub with OHs family when he gets home from work. No cooking for me and I’ve certainly caught up on missed eating out with 3 meals out this week.
have a lovely Sunday everyone 😊6 -
Good afternoon. Lovely and sunny today.
Yesterday
Met DS and family for lunch. Always a treat. DGD came home with us to do a spot of English revision and tell us all about N.Y.. DH gave his old phone to DGS so he's very happy indeed.
In the evening I decided to try my hand at cocktail making! Would have been great but I'd forgotten I'd thrown out my sieve a while ago. Couldn't strain the pureed raspberries so made a sort of cocktail smoothie. It was actually lovely!
Today
To town to buy a sieve. £2!! Bargain!! Also got some chinos. Not £2 but I do like them so they can stay
Called in to see DD on the way home so that's the whole family checked up on this weekend. I always like it when that happens😀
Happy 🌞 day everyone

Frith - I'm sorry your team got relegated. I know from DS and OH that that can be gutting for supporters.
Highdays - glad OH is ok
Pleasures for yesterday
1. Unanticipated batch of marking done
2. some stuff bought for OH#s birthday
3. a quick trog up the high street
4. Some amusing No S**t Sherlocks in #1 ("Expert determination is appropriate for processes that require an expert")
5. Out for tapas with friends.

Hello was a nice day until the rain started pouring about 4pm. Currently lashing and windy.Up early and out to the beach before 6am. Nice drive down.
Just us but not a very far out tide.Drove via new house ( just for a wee look)
DD2 and her best friend picked me up and we went down to favourite garden centre…I told them they were officially grannies! Friend and I shared a panini. Chattered and laughed which is always good.
Went cross country and had a wee detour via my new house to show friend. We got out and had a wander around the perimeter…probably on some local page as a dodgy lady! I keep saying it’s a wee cottage…it’s not tiny! Just smaller than what I currently have! We had a laugh about that.Popped into other garden centre that I meet niece at…it’s 7 minutes from new house.Home. Hello doggy. Oops it’s after your lunch time.
Hung out washing that had a very good blow then had to run out and grab it in from the rain. Put heating on for a wee while as it was cold.Made cookies. Ate cookies.Watching some very trashy Married at first sight! So bad it’s a bit good!Admired the flowering flowers in the garden. I’ll miss my garden but know that I created it from scratch and I get to create a new one too as doesn’t look like too much goes on in the one I’m going to, which is a decent enough size. Looking forward to making it mine! And I still love not working on a Sunday! Even over six months since I had to work one!7
