Hello from rainyville. Sighs at all the rain today. Don’t think it has stopped at all.Anyway. Up ever so early. We were out at 4.30am. Just a quick walk .
Dozed off again but woke in time to see a beautiful sunrise then dozed again and had a strange dream that my American aunt and uncle were in so messaged my cousin when I woke up and got a nice reply this afternoon from her ( and all is well)
Pup dropped off. That’s why it’s raining as he gets picked up for a dog walk and it always rains on a Wednesday and he comes back soaked!Went to pharmacy to get something for the annoying cough. Normally I’d just let it go its course but I need to speak on Friday. And oooh the taste of the cough medicine was like a taste memory of my childhood! ( a nice one)
Popped into old work to say hello ( nearby to pharmacy) oddly my friend who had just been texting me was in so had a quick real chat with her! Had had a big chat yesterday when I met her outside supermarket ( me…let’s try for another day of resting my voice not really working)
All ducks are in a row and hopefully won’t fall off! All houses have been sold in the chain! Waiting confirmation of entry date!Packed a couple of boxes today. Booked to get a quote for movers. Coming on Friday afternoon.
Sold a couple of carboy bottles which I have loved and bought in charity shops but won’t go in new house. Chap came and was counting out enough money for one but expecting two. me…er, it’s such and such each! Oh! But he paid for the two. Putting any sale money I make towards a new to me sofa that will fit.Watched channel 5 new drama with a dog on me.Going to tum in to a sausage. But made sausages in airfryer for tea. With mashed potatoes. Peas, carrots and sweetcorn. DD2 here for her tea and took away a serve for the chap. Bye big pup…apparently I’ll see him tomorrow!DD2 helped me with a wee bit of work admin. And I’ve just boiled the kettle and going to take my medicine, fill my bottles and head to bed!Oh and just to add my wee robin was at my patio door this afternoon. I’ve not seen it for a few weeks. The hedge at other side of my fence got trimmed a few weeks ago where they nest. Anyway I said hello and how very nice to see you ( it has specific markings so I know it’s mine)9 -
Back again.....
Still rejoicing in Happycas's lovely news from this morning.
Recent pleasures:
1) Had to give in to a rotten cold and horrid cough, the pleasure is I'm definitely on the mend and feeling a bit more like me again though the savage cough lingers on.
2) Managed a short walk with my bairn this morning, all on the level and still felt a bit cotton wooly and breathless but good to be outside and moving albeit very slowly.
3) Have had some nice, easy meals out of the freezer so minimal effort for the last few days.
4) Happy news of a new litte baby girl in the distant family and gorgeous photos of the new arrival.
5) Big sleeps in my lovely bed, only interrupted by bouts of coughing but deep sleep around those. Lovely after a broken night to be able to turn over and have a couple more hours of refreshing sleep.
Catch you later.8 -
Good news, Happycas.
And well done, MHags, on the move erm...moving forwards.
Pleasures for today (Wednesday)
1) Not a bad sleep.
2) Lots of Eid messages this morning.
3) Couldn't settle to anything during the morning so walked along the canal to canal town. It rained all the time. I found 3 (or was it 4?) geocaches.
4) Had a look round the charity shops and one in particular had lots of lovely china in today.
5) Had a cooked breakfast and cup of tea in a cafe then walked back again!
6) Helped smaller son clean his room and put a new hoover bag in.
7) Bigger son's girlfriend's birthday today. I walked there for tea and cake by 5pm. They were very jolly today. I think she liked the earrings and she was very touched that smaller son signed her card.
8) Walked back again. I walked 9.2 miles today.
9) Spanish chicken from the freezer for dinner.
10) Watching television now.
MrU's birthday tomorrow. Feel a bit sad.8 -
Happycas, that’s amazing news.
Frith hugs.
1 The deep clean today was all the downstairs windows in and out. And de cobwebbing the lounge where the spiders are taking over rather than living in harmony. I also sugar soaped the garden storage to remove the algae. There's nothing like the spring sun to emphasise where needs doing.
2 Lunch was a hot chicken piece in a roll with salad.
3 I made a start on mammoth de cluttering.
4 The washing line is literally full of animal bedding / fleeces drying.

2) had an hour off at lunch time but raining so on with home gym and Traces then finished the veg curry yum
3) clean sheets - definitely one of life's pleasures
4) footie with MrG and DrM - had been given an umbrella by academic visitors from Thailand so tried it out for size
5) walked home with DrM - a beautiful evening, a warmish refreshing breeze and now in bed with a cuppa and classicfmMrsSD declutter medals 2023 🏅🏅🏅⭐⭐ 2025

For yesterday,
Not the best start to the day as first the bulb in my bedside lamp went, followed by Capt S knocking a picture off the bedroom wall and then came down to see evidence that we’d had a little mousey visitor in the night so traps found and kitchen scrubbed clean.
Out to the garden to get the smell of bleach out of my nostrils, planted up some primroses and made some weeds homeless, the fat ball feeder had snapped in the recent high winds so will need a replacement.
Percy pigeon has stepped up activity and has obviously decided that small dog is no threat as he flew low above her head with a beak full of twigs, being slightly deaf she had no idea.
At the yard, rain had come over & the wind had got up again so cleaned Missy up and left her to hay net while Mum sorted out her rugs, heaviest one bagged up for wash/reproofing and got out her fly rug plus masks.
Tea was meat free, aubergine & feta burger with RV couscous.8 -
Morning all
Fabulous news, Happycas
Hugs Frith
Pleasures for tuesday
1. A soak in the bath with the last two episodes of my most recent 'thing'
2. Lunch out with a friend
3. More laundry - will it ever end? And no weather to hang it out in. Pleasure is the tumble dryer - which i try to avoid but sometimes needs must
4. Realising that i have 6 weeks in which to mark dissertations, as opposed to the three i thought i had
5. Nice tea of meatballs and pasta.
And yesterday
1 I would say a walk in the park with friend, but heavy rain meant in reality it was a dash to the coffee shop, a long time drinking coffee and nattering, and a dash back to the car
2. a good drive to ICT
3. cooked a veggie tagine - there's enough for tonight too
4. watched 'race across the world'
5. bed without earplugs as no OH.
Have a great dayI wanna be in the room where it happens7 -
Good afternoon
Thank you everyone. It is indeed brilliant news. I'm a very happy Happycas.
The ironing continues, made easier by listening to For Thy Great Pain Have Mercy....... I'm fascinated by Mother Julian and now want to find out more about Margery Kempe.
The next batch of ironing ( we've only been away a week!) will be accompanied by The French Lieutenant 's Woman. Praise be for BBC sounds.
I've decided to revisit Marie Kondo and her 'spark joy'. Most of my summer clothes don't !! They don't fit/I don't like the colour/they've been washed so often they're like dish rags. Time to take a firm stand! I may end up with nothing to wear!
Fish pie for tea with green beans. My favourite.
Happy 🌞 afternoon everyone
