Have you tried lentil rice PK, nice substitute for normal?
For yesterday,
Blowy day but we had a fair bit of sunshine so washing line earned its keep.
Honey bees on my rosemary flowers, the chives are about to flower and the strawberries have a few as well.
Spent the afternoon at the yard, Missy come in covered in dried on mud so that was my first job! Worked her in the lunge pen but she was full of her own opinions and wouldn’t concentrate, at one point she turned to face me as if to say no more Mum and we just stood there, staring at each other and having a silent conversation. My friend who was watching laughed.
Home and then back out again, this time to take small dog for her monthly injection. She rode shotgun as always and yes Mhags, nose prints on glass ☺️A male blackbird singing his heart at twilight, sat in the top branches of the old apple tree.9 -
Hello all - i been on me olidis.
Recent pleasures
1. I'll gloss over the boat problems (4 repairs or replacement toilets, a broken bed, various bilge and shower pumps) to say that we did, despite everything, have a lovely time on the canal du midi.
2. the six of us (mostly) got on well. Although OH fell out with one of our party early on, i don't think the other party noticed! 🤣
3. Lots of food eaten and booze drunk, but i stayed the same weight
4. Back via Paris which is always lovely
5. another work was worked. Three more to go.
I wanna be in the room where it happens7 -
Hello. Bedtime. Me & my hot water bottles.
Up early. Was a rainy start but turned out nice later.
Into town this morning. Had a soundcheck for a job I’m doing on Friday.
Dropped off a big suitcase at charity shop. Came from mums loft ( brand new) son had used it to fill with stuff before he moved away. Then we went through it last week whilst he was on phone. Anyway another item gone.
Popped into coffee shop next door and had a tuna croissant. And a nice chat with the owners who I used to work with years ago.
Then thought I’ll just have a quick mooch in charity shop and was almost out…got a lovely set of next curtains for my new house.
Then to my local supermarket and dropped off some more books and picked up some boxes and separately met three different people I knew so big chatters with them all whilst trying to load a trolley with boxes ( the very nice chap who works there got my two big piles of boxes! ) got as many as I could in my wee car but they’re all good sturdy boxes!Home. Hello doggy. Time for a quick wee then time for your lunch!Chat to sister. This is me trying to protect my voice ( have a service to conduct on Friday) too much chattering.
Reclined and watched a film which was nice.
Tuesday Tea was sausage casserole, roasted parsnips, carrot and turnip mash, mashed potatoes, red cabbage and very nice it was too! And rhubarb and apple crumble. I had two wrinkly apples and raked in the freezer and found the last load of rhubarb. And had a bag of crumble mix in the freezer too. Chatter and laughter and good food. Then did the dishes/ boiled kettle for my hot water bottles and listened to John Denver album B side. As I think I’ve said no idea where it came from but will be donating it to charity shop! But it was nice gentle end of the day music as I tidied the kitchen.8 -
Lainey, thank you for the lentil rice tip, I've tried lentil pasta, I've just added it to my shopping basket but will also have a look for it, I've picked up a lot of grains in Aldi.
The doc’s phoned dh to make a couple of appointments, thou one was for cholesterol appointment which had me bemused, as we had lowered it and I’ve stuck with what we used to lower it, but he didn’t mention that he decided to stop taking the meds but didn’t go to the docs about the side effects.
1 Picked up a sriracha spice from Costco the last time we went and experimented with it as a topping on the seafood salad I made for lunch glad I started with a very small amount thou, it’s a bit fiery.
2 I may have squealed with glee when I noticed the lidl apple pie is coming up on Dutch week, which finds me shuffling things about to make room for ahem, a few.
3 Not sure if this is a pleasure, but I didn’t de clutter the office today either, ahem, and so it rolls over, I’ve got a lot of books I don’t really want to let go but won’t re-read now so I must move them on as I’m also out of space I currently have some literally piled in a filing drawer!
4 Enjoying animal cuddles, I would say cheaper than therapy, but given the vet bills so far this year who knows.
5 Exploring vinted, and getting ready to list a few things.

Good mornjng. Sunny!!
Some good news. DH finally had his four times postponed appointment and it was worth waiting for. No recurrence of the cancer! He's to continue with immunotherapy but shorter sessions with longer inbetween. And breathe!!
So on with the mountain of ironing with a smile on my face.
Happy 🌞 day everyone

Love a snoring spaniel DD
For yesterday,
Someone flicked a switch and turned off the warm spring weather, jumpers, boots and big coats back on!
Not a pleasure really but the shower head in the en-suite snapped as Capt S went to move it, now we need a new head & hose but they are coming into stock at local DIY shop today so hopefully that shower will be back in action tomorrow.
Headed into Uni City for a haircut, nice catch up with lovely hairdresser and he does a good coffee ☺️Had taken a sandwich with me so ate that on the way to the yard, weather was atrocious with rain and strong winds so hello to pony who’d had a duvet day, gave her a groom and changed her rug ahead of a cold night.
Home, tea was fish and cauliflower cheese, we watched a bit of the football but both tired so headed off for an early night.8 -
