@Purple_kitten - Sorry to here about Kit, I know how much the ferrets mean to you. You gave them a happy life and a long one. Probably the happiest ferrets in the country. Will be thinking about you. Hugs.9

Good morning. Still dark but no snow here as yet.
P Kitten - so sorry to hear about Kit. But he was a very fortunate Kit to have had such a happy life x
DGS football was surprisingly enjoyable for us two non sports fans. It only lasts an hour and that's broken into 15 minute chunks so even I didn't get bored. And it's more interesting when your grandson nearly scores! And our team won!
Back to yoga yesterday. Had to really talk myself into going but, of course, was very glad I went. And then went for coffee with my friend so a good natter too.
DD gave me a needle felting picture kit for Christmas so I started that yesterday. Only done the background so far but it's very relaxing. Listened to Lord Peter Wimsey Nine Tailors at the same time. My mum loved those books so it reminded me of her. A great way to spend an afternoon
DH is out all morning so I'm going to get cracked on and clean everywhere. Until I get distracted by sorting photos or somesuch! Always happens 😂
Happy Tuesday everyone.7 -
I’m so sorry PK, what a happy life Kit had with you and was obviously enjoying it right to the end, love to you all x
For yesterday,
Early trip to the emporium, saw that they had marmalade oranges which made me think of Ampersand, hoping she continues to recover.
Cold, raw kind of day with the occasional snow flurries so made a big pot of bottom of the fridge veggie soup with the last of the festive blue cheese, lovely, warming lunch.
Been thinking about my Mum even more than usual as we approach the anniversary of her passing, it’s the feel of this time of year I guess, miss her every day.
With my equine girlie, it’s the hardest time of the year for horse owners as we wade through mud, deal with continuous rug changes and have permanently cold hands, all the time dreaming of riding in the warm sunshine, sigh.
The normal Uni Challenge continues after the (relatively) easier questions of the Christmas specials, just the two answered correctly.

Hello all,
PK -sorry for your loss.
Mhags - thanks for the SW info - am sorely tempted to join but will see how i go by myself first.
Been on me olidis, so pleasures recently
1. Warmth and sunshine in Marrakech
2. Fabulous food and (expensive!) wine
3. interesting sights - palaces, museums, markets, souks
4. fabulous hotel with excellent staff
5. My bed when we got back
6. a nice bathy watching The Traitors
7. back to work - not really the pleasure. But have given "notice" that i'm not going back in September which is (not really formal notice as i'm zero hours, effectively. But wanted to enable them to find my replacement sooner rather than later - as i have a fear if they don't ...)
8. watched Mr Bates v The Post Office - really brought home the impact on people of the stories that appear on the news
9. Washing has been on the line
10. The fridge fairy has visited.
Have a great evening.I wanna be in the room where it happens8 -
Hello. First Tuesday Tea of the year completed!Up early. Quick walk was glad it wasn’t slippy. Star filled sky.Went to seaside town to meet niece. We had a lovely walk and I dropped off the two bags of charity stuff from my car and may have bought a lovely green linen top…me I DO NOT NEED….oooh I do like a linen top and what a lovely shade of green! It will be worn!Went for a cheap and cheerful lunch. Had a toastie.Home. Hello doggy…I did not walk along the beach so didn’t feel too guilty!Made mince and tatties for tea and very nice it was too. With red cabbage, sprouts, carrots, broccoli and a teensy last bit of cauliflower. Every thing was RTC. Then pudding was a meringue nest with strawberries, the last of the RTC Christmas blueberries and skooshy cream!Had the log burner on and sat an chatted and laughed and I got rid of another bag of stuff to friend ( and the charity she helps with)
so that’s three bags of stuff out my house so far this week! Hurrah!Met the lady who fell the week leading up to Christmas this afternoon, so she’s okay which I’m glad about.7 -
I'm sorry to hear about Kit, PK.
Pleasures for today (Tuesday)
1) Not a bad sleep.
2) Our friend (R) stayed overnight. Last night we were just chatting then having an occasional game on the Wii then realised it was 2am! So we had a lie in this morning.
3) MrU went into town to sort a few things out and our friend went back to the hotel to say goodbye to the people who still live there (it closes next week). I went round the charity shops, had a cup of tea in Marks and Spencer then went to Dunelm for 2 pillows for smaller son and a cushion middle bit (I supposed the middle bit of a cushion is called a cushion!)
4) Got home and spent about an hour cutting down brambles and bits of undergrowth right at the bottom of the garden. I think there will be another 1.5 - 2 metres of garden there.
5) Everyone in a jolly mood today.
6) Just cooking potato wedges with onions and garlic for tea.8 -
For yesterday,
Woke up to bbbrrr cold but clear, starry skies and we had a lot of sunshine through the day.
Spent the morning cleaning the house and dancing to the radio.
Worked my horse in the lunge pen, not too much fast work as surface was hard but we had good fun doing liberty stuff.
Warming cup of coffee in the yard kitchen and my pal kindly shared her iced bun with me.
The clear day obviously helped but the evenings are definitely stretching out.

Morning all. I see sunshine through the curtains, minus 1 though!Made a lovely pot of broccoli and Stilton (and bits of other leftover cheese) on Monday , delicious especially with a bit more cheese and a tiny swirl of leftover cream on top! Didn’t go out as it was trying to snow on and off. Turned the last portion of boeuf bourginon into a pie with roasted root veg 😋
I finally made it back to swimming yesterday after a gap of about 3 months! Nearly made the excuse of its too cold, but being very limited with my walking, I really need to get back into it. Managed 22 lengths, with lots of stops, and did lots of stretches in between. Sort of enjoyed it and felt better for it. Popped to Lidl for a small shop and to drop off Vinted parcel. Home and unpacked then took fresh bread round to friends for lunch and chat.
My bestie and other friend came round for Chinese takeaway, drinks, chat and laughs last night. Possibly the last one before friend moves to the coast, although we said that the last 2 times!
Struggling to rouse myself out of bed as I have to face doing my sons accounts ready for tax return if he dains to bring his invoices round!Happy Wednesday all 😊PS hugs to PK 😘6 -
