hello from my new laptop! this will sound ridiculous but I've not used one in six years...I love my ipad! however needs must! I need to embrace it! and not chuck it out the window!
Not quite chucked it out the window! Have went onto my iPad…that was like learning a foreign language!Right for today. Awake at stupid o’clock again. Out wandering the streets with a dog at 4.45am! Just us and the robins!Chat with sister early this morning. We are both early risers.
Lovely morning spent with my friend. Up at my favourite place…I’ve now to get 10% discount as I’m a regular customer! We sat and chatted for over 3 hours! She’d brought me a beautiful bunch of 15 yellow roses! They are stunning…we manhandled my very heavy dolls house into her car. She has a friend who was looking for a one to do up…I had one languishing in a cupboard! Hurrah! Was just in and a quick turnaround and back out. A drive to supermarket ( not even 5 minutes) parked there and walked down to collect some books suitable for a teenager. Old friend from years back having a clear out so I’d messaged my niece to see if great niece might like them! Loaded up my backpack with them and walked back to car…about 15 minutes each way. Way they’re downhill in sunshine. Way back uphill in drizzle. However by the time I got back home it was lashing so I’m glad the car was there to drive home in! Nice catch up too.Ordered logs. Coming next week …got a LOL reply when I said clocks ticking to clear a space!Cuddles with my dog, he sat on top of me and said you’re not going anywhere yet!But I went upstairs and sorted out the space in the cupboard where the dolls house had been. Bag of stuff for charity and a pile in recycling bin.Hurrah! The mobile library bus came in to estate. I’d thought it came at 3.30pm but it’s actually now 3pm so I saw it, grabbed my books which were sitting waiting and set off with an I’ll not be long to the dog! Big pile of books! I’m really in a reading mood just now.Home. Hoovered upstairs. Friend gave me a wicker unit /shoe storage doodah on Friday. Was a bit cobwebby so gave it a good hoover, hoping no spiders were lurking! It’s gone in what was DD1 room and is my reading room! Piled my new library books nicely on top! I’ll probably paint it at some point. And then and only then once I’d done the stuff that needed doing did I open my new laptop! And I always had a husband or a child to set it up for me which I know probably sounds ridiculous! I’ll get there! Was just saying to my friend this morning I’ve done much harder things than what I’m trying to set up for myself just now…it’s just taking a leap of faith!Anyway had enough of it telling what to do so went downstairs! Made my tea…left over pie with little potatoes cooked in airfryer and cabbage, sprouts ( real food PP) carrots and broccoli.Chatted to DD2 on phone and made a very rough and ready but tasty rocky road using up stuff from Halloween tea last week. It did need taste testing!PK sending you love and strength for whatever tomorrow brings. We’ll all be here for you!6 -
Good luck, PK.
I will say (cryptically for now) huge changes are afoot here and will reach a peak next Monday... Nothing bad.
Pleasures for today (Monday)
1) An early morning cup of tea with MrU.
2) Helped a man with his appeal for Right to Remain.
3) My sister popped in for a cup of tea.
4) Took MrU to the dentist.
5) Did the minimum of housework.
6) Just took MrU back home.

Evening all.
Nice to 'see' you Frith, definitely cryptic, you'll have us all wondering now....
PK - sending you warmest wishes and a big hug and will be thinking about you tomorrow x
Today's pleasures:
1) A lovely day - coffee this morning with my sister, one of my brothers and a dear family friend, lunch out with hubby and then a visit to a friend I haven't seen for a while who is convalescing from an operation. Definitely a Monday Funday.
2) Some timings and arrangements firmed up for the Christmas family party - less than a month away now. We are hosting so can now get some plans made and things organised. Best decision ever to book everyone into a local hotel overnight, my days of sorting air beds and sleeping bags are well and truly over - and I'm definitely not giving up my bed ever again!
3) Lovely to get home, we hit rush hour on the motorway with roadworks and heavy rain. Jarmers on and tea and toast in front of the telly. Bliss!
4) Picked up some lovely yellow-stickered treats whilst buying flowers for my pal. Mostly tucked away in the new freezer but salmon en croute in the fridge for tea tomorrow night.
5) Hubby is off set-building in the morning and I have nowhere I need to be and nothing that needs doing urgently so a lazy morning to look forward to and then some nice bits of shopping to do in the afternoon and might treat us to tea and cake out just because we can. Hearing tales today of the politics and goings-on in my ex-workplace have made me so glad I'm done with it all, a very big ongoing pleasure!
Off to bed with my book now, hope tomorrow is a good day for everyone, fingers crossed.

For yesterday,
Early trip into horsey town and met my pal for a coffee before doing a food shop.
Catch up chat with my Befriending Network coordinator and arrangements made to meet a potential new client.
Over to the yard, out to the paddocks to fetch in my horse and she come thundering across the field to me, what a welcome. Bit of work and like most of the horses at the moment she was very fresh! Her human slave then gave her a deep massage & groom with her kindly pointing out where the most itchy spots were.Text conversation with my maternal Uncles and a date set for a catch up meal.
Uni Challenge followed by the final episode of the Long Shadow, well done I thought.
Sounds intriguing Frith!5 -
Good afternoon
S Sue - so glad your new meds are helping. What a relief.
Special treat for me on Saturday. Went with DD to look for a wedding dress. Awful weather on the edge of the Peak District but she's a good driver . Glad I wasn't driving. Anyway, she tried on some dresses that were ok, not bad etc and then one that we just both said 'Wow'. Absolutely perfect. As if made for her. So, job done!. Really didn't expect it to be quite so easy.
Last session of this batch of immunotherapy yesterday for DH.. Now for a little break while they decide what to do next. They had originally said a gap of 5 months but now consultant is not sure. Que sera ....
I agree about The Long Shadow, Lainey. Very well done and some excellent acting. But it's so depressing we still have two more episodes to watch. Such an awful time.
Back to the old favourite of oven veg for tea. Probably with sausages. And plum crumble for afters.
Happy Tuesday everyone.7 -
Hello! Bedtime.Up at ridiculous o’clock. Out for a walk about 4.30am . We don’t go far, it’s all well lit but I love the peacefulness and the stars and the moon.
Popped down to DD2 a with my new laptop and my swish new to me but still brand new from Vinted Cath Kidston laptop bag! She loaded some stuff for me onto laptop. Then doggo and I went to beach.Had a lovely walk. It was very breezy and a cold wind but so bright. Lots of kite surfers out.Popped into nearby supermarket to use the loo but also got 3 bunches of flowers for 35p each! And a tub of cream for pudding!
Lovely drive home. Colours are just stunning.
Home. Washing almost dryish…finished off on radiators.
Lit fire. And made Tuesday Tea. We had chicken and veg pie, with little roasted RTC potatoes and RTC parsnips. With RTC carrots. And broccoli and cabbage and peas. Then I made an apple crumble with enough crumble mix leftover to go in the freezer. It was all very delicious!
Usual evening of chatter and laughter. And I’m just about ( well that’s the plan unless I zzzzzzzzz) to finish my first library book. It’s been a good day.Big but gentle hug for PK7 -
Hello.
Some surprising sunshine today in between the rain showers, the trees are looking just glorious at the moment but sadly won't be long before a couple of windy days render them bare. In the meantime they are a treat for the eyes and the soul.
Thoughts with PK today, wondering how things are going and how she is feeling. We are all there is spirit with you, PK, hope you can sense that.
Happycas, what a lovely day you had and so glad a dress was found, a lovely memory to look back on.
Some pleasures:
1) Very capable son is insulating all the floors of his house and putting in his underfloor heating. A mammoth job but he is undaunted. It has to go into a manifold or something which links it up to our underfloor heating so he is popping in and out turning our thermostats on and off. Don't understand the ins and outs of it but he has now got two zones working and you can feel the heat so something is going right and we get a chance to have a chat when he is in here which is lovely.
2) Yet more finalising of our family winter social events. Some fun times ahead!
3) Scrummy rtc salmon en croute for tea tonight with roasted new potatoes, carrots and broccoli. A nice midweek treat.
4) Some bits of shopping done despite a shop assistant telling me they didn't stock something that we were able to show him on their website and which hubby then found in the shop. Grrr... learn your stock or at least say you don't know, they very nearly lost a nice big sale but weren't at all bothered. The only pleasure there being, I suppose, we managed to get what we needed in spite of the staff.
5) Looking forward, despite a not very good weather forecast, to a trip to a Christmas Market in the next county along tomorrow. Market is advertised as being free but the car park - no choice, it's in the middle of nowhere - is a pretty steep £17. Hope it's worth the drive and the car park fee. Declined the offer of afternoon tea at £50 per person, in the spirit of this site will take a flask and a sarnie! Be nice to spend the day with hubby and we will enjoy our car picnic probably in the rain
It's later than I thought so off to my bed now. Hope it's been a good day for everyone and looking forward to another good one tomorrow.
