Another who'd been thinking of you sparrer,😀. Who's replaced Ruby Ferguson and Pat Smyth these days for pony-mad young readers?
1. Chapter which-what of &'s Strawberry
Meantime, upped the grape jelly to 5 kilos and 2 good bottles of rouge. Being strained as we speak.
2. 6 more Preview bits and match reports written/in.
3. Another lovely BROH call this morning re: tomorrow. Further MRI, so appt brought forward. Setting off at 6am, aware of likely weather.
4. Many other ospers may have been, perhaps still are, Samaritans. This afternoon's superb R4 play, 'Samaritan No.One' is just over, brilliantly relating Chad Varah founding our group 50 years ago.
Remarkable off-the-wall Chad Varah, his fabulous Susan and Renée - fantastic, funny, joyous and fearless. Reece Shearsmith is a stunning surprise as Chad. Then, as the first desperate letters following his article in The Picture Post were read.....:

Not any sort of os pleasure, but a frequent new-style sadness. &'s rural PO and store is closing at the end of the month, after 30 years. No idea what many people will do.CAP[UK]for FREE EXPERT DEBT &BUDGET HELP:

Hello again.
S/Sue - glad the new meds are helping, also for son and grandson helping in a different sort of way!
& - thanks for the heads-up, will listen to the play with interest.
Today's pleasures:
1) Woke up feeling much brighter and more my usual positive self. I'm not by nature a miserable person and hate feeling sad and 'not myself'. Anyway, a good sleep and now firmly settled back on my perch. So much sad news and terrible happenings at the mo, it's easy to get swamped with it all. Also I'm very sad in a way but also very glad in another that we are the sort of people who do what is expected of us even if those who are telling us what to do are not doing it themselves. All behind us now but was hugely sad to miss my dad's last Christmas, Father's Day and birthday. Enough - sorry about the rant!
2) A lovely Monday Tea pottering sort of day. Not gone far as son's car in for its MOT so we were on drop off/pick up duty for him and the boys. So I did some washing, some sorting some plan-making and baked a lemon drizzle cake for a friend struggling back onto her feet (literally!) after her op. and some parkin to 'mature' ready for bonfire night. Spent the afternoon knitting my blanket and reading new library books and flicking through my new recipe book - definitely not needed but I have all her other books (Sabrina Ghayour) and love them and use them often. Extra pleasure was that the car passed its MOT. Phew!
3) My favourite knife snapped yesterday so a delivery today of a new one. Good to have as I use it constantly and a very funny moment at the door as the delivery driver had to take my full name and date of birth before he could give it to me - hilarious as I am very obviously nearer to eighty than eighteen!!
4) Hubby finds it hard to sit still for long, likes to be up and doing, so lawn edges all trimmed and tidy for the winter and all the drive, 'car park' and patios and steps power-washed. Much neater and tidier and the pleasure was he didn't mind getting dirty and wet while I was watching from a warm and dry inside, I'm definitely a very fair weather gardener and even then prefer to direct operations from a chair under a parasol.
5) Very quick and easy tea tonight as we have salted caramel ice cream sundaes for pudding. Yum - even if it is a bit of leftover ice cream that needs eating as I need the freezer space, some leftover salted caramel sauce that had been hidden in the depths of the freezer and forgotten about and the remains of the pot of cream I used for the lemon mousse now in the freezer for the Chritmas 'do'. Will chop and toast a few hazelnuts for the top and tell hubby that is his reward for all his hard work today. Will then feel less guilty about not letting him eat the parkin!
Right, no tea to prep so a sneaky half hour with my book.
Have a good evening all.

Bedtime…this is a more me time for bedtime!A day of much wind and rain so I’ve actually done nothing! Started a new book. Watched and dozed through an odd programme caught up on bake off.
Had chicken Kiev , mashed potatoes, carrots and peas for early tea.All part from peas were RTC. And very tasty it was too!DD2 came over after her work and after she’d picked up the pup at daycare. She needed my help to collect some furniture. Way down other end of town, over to her side of town. Much to me to you -ing and a few ‘pivot, pivot, PIVOTS’ as we manoeuvred it upstairs ! Then back to mine to collect a pup.10 -
Hi
I read every day and never post but life's starting to feel not so great so I've decided that I should start posting and hopefully this will help me .
Pleasures for yesterday
1. Getting to know my new cat, he's so much more vocal than my daft snuggly cat I lost last month, but I'm sure we will both get used to each other in time
2. Getting out for a 5k run before the weather started to turn and actually enjoying it, I used to run lots but am finding doing anything at the moment a challenge
3. Sending a thank you parcel to a friend I stayed with at the weekend, it was great to get away and just what I needed, wish I could bottle how I felt
4. Getting the new Arnold Schw??? book from the library, I've been listening to a few of his interviews promoting the book so thought I'd have a read
5. Scrambled eggs for lunch, a positive as I'm struggling to enjoy eating at the moment so a rare meal pleasure

Welcome Ollielikesswimming, we look forward to reading about your pleasures.
For yesterday,
Lovely decorator arrived bang on time and soon got going, as he’s doing the stairwell had to make sure that everything needed was brought downstairs beforehand.
Kept busy, sweeping and washing the floor, plus making the workman plenty of tea!
Did pop out to nearby market town to ride a pal’s horse, she’s had to have an operation on her wrist and can’t ride for a couple of weeks so horsey friends have organised a rota to keep her boy exercised. He is a black & white cob called Ted, bit of a leg in each corner, steady neddy type but honest as the day is long so a fun hour. Had forgotten how windswept the fens can be, eyes were watering like mad.
Quiet afternoon as didn’t go out again, read my book and watched an old Midsomer Murders.
Tea was a sausage & root veg honey bake, very nice and just what was needed.

Pleasures yesterday and today
1. meeting up with friends and their lovely doggy at the arboretum
2. playing fridge fairy as we were a bit 'mother hubbard'
3. lighting the fire and shutting the world out
4. starting the decorating - our bedroom which is long overdue
5. Getting 3 for 2 on paint so getting two pots for free.
Have a lovely, warm and dry evening all.I wanna be in the room where it happens10 -
A dry day but chilly. I optimistically hung out a wash which was half dry when I brought it in.Up early.
Went a lovely walk round castle grounds. Makes me happy. Saw lots of birds. Tree colours are just stunning. A wee squirrel. Lots of leaves to scrunch through.Home. Hung out washing and got myself ready for a bit of work! I’m working on the final bits of putting everything together ( it’s a bit like a jigsaw and I really don’t like jigsaws!)
Went out to buy a laptop. Met a friend had a quick chat. Laptop ordered and will be delivered ‘now one last question do you need a laptop bag?’ Eh no…not from here anyway…ordered a Cath Kidston never been used one on Vinted!Home and hello doggy. Chat to sister. And just read and read!Had a mince and potatoes ready meal doodah that I got from too good to go! Was alright, nothing special. Had it with peas and carrots and some real food PP sprouts!
And I’ve just came upstairs to just keep on reading my book! I’m as well cosy in my bed reading then sat downstairs with the heating on.8 -
1 Up early and sorted out this month’s budget and paid the bills.
2 We went out to get my watch which has been repaired under warranty, and do a little shopping, seems everyone had the same idea, it was surprisingly busy.
3 The hospital was apologetic the surgery should’ve been this week but booked in for Tuesday now.
4 The car sailed through its MOT; we were both rather nervous but no advisories for a very old car I’m so happy with it.
5 Ordering in on a half price voucher.
6 There “was” a packet of Greggs mince pies taste tested.

Hello.
Nice to have new people on the board, makes me feel not so much the newbie! Welcome!
Frith - hope all ok, not the same without your house tales.
P/Kitten - finally a date, roll on next Tuesday and the start of getting you sorted.
Today's pleasures:
1) No scrunchy leaves here, all very wet and sodden but the storm has not really touched us, a big pleasure eventhough Saturday's bonfire and firework display and fair in a local park has been cancelled due to boggy ground. Disappointed grandsons but if that's the worst of it we have done very well.
2) Due to 1) plans have been made for sausages, jacket potatoes, parkin and middle grandson's birthday cake for tea on Saturday with some sparklers in the garden then little grandson doing the calling in his favourite bingo game. Fun will be had in the safety of our own garden.
3) Sixteen years tonight I was on a mercy dash to scoop us little one year old grandson while his brother was being born. The biggest pleasure of my life, being blessed with three wonderful, individual, clever, funny and kind grandsons. So proud of them all as I'm sure you all know by now!
4) Meeting arranged with brother, sister-in-law, sister, and mum and dad's main carer, who now is a dear family friend, for coffee on Monday. Brother hinted that he hasn't had any parkin for years so will make one tomorrow to share out between them all, he really won't be expecting that! Will then have lunch in a nice pub with hubby followed by a visit to an old work friend in the afternoon - always take her a lemon drizzle cake so baking will be done. A nice Monday to look forward to.
5) Trip out this afternoon to collect my new specs. As always they don't feel as familiar as my old ones but can certainly read the small print far better so definitely needed, I will persevere with them and put out of my head for now the fact that I have the beginnings of cataracts in both eyes but it will be 7-10 years before anything needs to be done about them. There must be a pleasure in there somewhere!
A busy day of food prep and baking tomorrow and a grandson's 16th birthday to celebrate but for now bed and my book beckon.
Hope you sleep well and safe from the storms.9
