For yesterday,
Off to the yard early as equine pal had physio, she thoroughly enjoyed it and no major problems found.
Driving home and following one of the numerous diversions, country roads filthy with mud and then got stuck on one as waited for a sugar beet lorry to be filled up from the huge pile in a field, oh the joys of living in the country.
Sneaky little afternoon nap on the sofa with small dog.
Off to Uni city to watch my footie team, expected to be tanked but we held the league leaders to a 0-0 draw, enjoyed watching live football again.
Home and small dog barked her disapproval at being left on her own all evening, last walk around the garden before bed and moon was bright.7 -
Good morning.
Lovely and sunny today, clear blue skies, golden light, just lovely.
Busy week, some pleasures:
1) A lovely day out with little fella, hunting for witches and pumpkins in a glorious autumnal garden. Warm enough for tea and cakes to be eaten outside in the sunshne.
2) Dinner and an evening at the ballet which was just magical.
3) Tour round a house I have wanted to go to for ages, house and garden were wonderful, as was the cream tea.
4) Lunch in the village pub beforehand, last time I went there was for dinner with my mum and dad 55 years ago. Oh dear!
5) Out to spend little chap's pocket money today - has his eye on some new pens that you can rub out, then taking him out for treat lunch - has his eye in a huge chocolate sundae which he informs us is 'superb'. Then to see brother and sis-in-law who has got potatoes and onions for us from her brother's farm so will collect those and have been invited to stay for a meal.
Busy time and just realised this is all about food. I'll be the size of a bus if it carries on! Still, nice to get out and about when we have the chance. Housework and shingles jab tomorrow will bring a touch of normality!
Have a good day, hope you have the sunshine.

Hello.Just catching up on Bake Off .
A night of weird dreams so was actually quite glad to get up this morning.
Chat to sister. It’s her birthday.
It’s been a dry day but a bit blah! Washing out but was still quite damp when I brought it in. Heating was on but just switched it back off.
Boxed up tablet and went round to various friends and dropped it off. Chatters along the way which was nice. And lots of doggy hellos too.
So many houses and gardens decorated for Halloween. Made me smile.
Walked long way to supermarket to get stamps. Posted off DD1 birthday card. Shortcut way home ( over a field)
Popped into old work and said hello.
DD2 stopped by on her way home for tablet. Gave her a few wee Halloween decorations I no longer need.Dishwasher chap called to say part was in and could he drop by to fix it. He then said ‘are you OH’s wife?’ Turns out he was at school with him. It really took me aback.Read next library book for a wee while.Made French toast for tea.

1. Just thoroughly enjoyed this - much laugh-out-loud, thoughtful and thought-provoking, plus rapier wit+many truths.

Love brilliant Daliso Chaponda, 😁👍
2. An easier day. Bigger seroma lessening, pain going. Hadn't really had any until last week's scan+samples.
3. Oh dear, Hurrchrrrs is going rather off-piste again.
4. More h-g all sorts and yum. Casserole, carrots and greens shortly.
5. Have spent much of day on Preview, which is working, hoorah! Maybe & has more connectivity since someone moved away.

Frith, hadn't picked up on you being ill,😧.
What do you think it was? Pushing yourself too hard? Inadvertently inhaling various dusts with all your work in new home?
Also wondering if all the rain has noticeably affected your lake?
🏉🏆World Cup semi-final and final countdown now.....&'s ABs please.

For yesterday,
Pay day so bills paid and monies moved around, in a house with two bean-counters it won’t surprise you to know that we have spreadsheets for everything!
Over to yard but different today as had taken the big car, picked up my friend and we had a road trip through the Essex countryside to a big equestrian store. Through many pretty villages and at one point a big stag run across the road 50 yards in front on my car, magnificent.
Coffee first then a good look around, few needed bits purchased plus a too good to miss item in the sale then the treat of lunch in the on-site cafe.
Didnt get lost on way back to yard 👍 girlie was already in and enjoyed sampling her new treats.
Home and surprisingly tired but had driven for over 4 hours in the day which a lot for me, easy sausage pasta for tea then caught up on Bake-off.7 -
Good morning. If it gets much darker, I'm going back to bed! And more rain too!
Paulie, Frith - hope you both feel better soon. This depressing weather can't be helping.
M hagster - I started watching Bodies but think I nodded off briefly in the middle ( I often do!) And am now hopelessly confused. Will try again and try to stay awake!
Not too much happening here - and that's good news.
Gas man coming today to do annual service so I've given the utility room a bit of a clean up. Not before time really. It tends to be missed out in the cleaning routine, which is fairly haphazard anyway!
DH has bought dates then decided there are too many so can I make a date and walnut cake? As it's the second time he's done that, I'm beginning to be suspicious 😂
Trying a new hairstyle but as it requires faffing about with tongs I don't think it'll last. Would be an option for a night out - but they've fallen by the wayside recently.
Oven veg and salmon for tea - followed by date and walnut cake😂
Happy dark day everyone

Hello.Bedtime. Not to sleep but to read for a while. There’s a biggish moon and a star filled sky.Up early!
Went down to garden centre for a cheese scone and a list making session! I’ve got lots to be done and only I can do it! Anyway I now have a plan of action!Stopped at major electrical shop on way home…no one approached me! Walked out and went to another shop and bought a Christmas top for great nephew. Went back into electrical shop ( because there’s no others in my town anymore!) and a chap got a more helpful chap to give me some info.Dropped off a cheese scone for DD2 because sometimes I am a nice mother!Home and hello doggy! We went out into the garden and planted 80 daffodil bulbs and filled three garden buckets of weeds and pruning. Swept up leaves again!Went round to friends. And had a very nice chatter.Home and made chicken Kiev ( RTC) and mashed potatoes and red cabbage, broccoli and carrots and very nice it was!Sat and read in the fading light!Various texts back and forth with various friends…I’ve to keep checking who I’m replying to!7 -
1 Inspired to make cake, thanks to Happycas’ post. I read the date and walnut cake part out loud, and then had to find a recipe and cook up my first ever attempt at one, it’s moreish.
2 Popped out for bloods to be taken and no problems this time, and took a parcel to the post office, nice to have a walk and admired a house that has gone all out for Halloween.
3 Working to a very small budget – self-imposed, until next Weds, as there were a lot of unplanned expenses, there are no expenses for the next 6 days so it should be doable.
4 Pork belly slice with lentil and green veg in cheese sauce for dinner.

1. Right now, listening to Beauden Barrett on R5. He's a good, honest, modest, down-to-earth kiwi rugby player and part of a great family. With Jordie and Scott, all 3 brothers are ABs playing in the big one on Saturday. &'s winding up well in readiness....😁 🇳🇿🏉🏆Kia Kaha Arohanui!🏆🏉🇳🇿
2. Put fresh foil on eye-level grill pan. Pat self on head, &.😁
3. Still picking h-g toms and today's apple was extra yum, very red, very crisp, very crunchy.
4. Preview writing sorted, all in for tomorrow.
5. Caring confirmation+arrangements for next week's BROH appt received.👍🙂. Also for oncology physio Tuesday.

Goodness work gets more and more frenetic - stopped and told myself what a great job I'm doing - made a change from my usual churning over all the things I haven't done.
1) sharing with Ampers for my first - discovering Daliso Chaponda so so good
2) more finishing off food - this time risotto with half a bottle of white wine (i don't like white wine, it's been sat in the fridge a while and honestly best thing I've ever done white wine!), bacon and vegetables including chopped up radishes - amazingly good
3) promotion lunch at uni for all of us who've been promoted in the last year - very nice - I thanked the deputy principal for putting on lunch to celebrate Luton's promotion 🤣🤣
4) friend's baby shower at work - she's adopting and taking a year out, absolutely thrilled for her (though we'll miss her) then gbf picked me up so I could show him what's what - mum's in Rome till Monday and I'm off tomorrow to Pakistan till 7th so gbf's coming to look after the boys - they absolutely love him
5) all packed for tomorrow, checked in, 1 talk and 2 workshops downloaded (one not quite finalised but hey ho), bus to the airport booked and now enjoying All Creatures Great and Small.
