Topsy, glad son's healing can start.
1 The laminate bedroom floor is down, and I can’t stop smiling it’s lovely, such an improvement and the bed is being rebuilt so we can sleep back in there tonight, hell of a push to get it done in one day.
2 The windows are clean inside and out, the netting is washed and re hung, the ceiling fans are also clean again.
3 Rich Christmas cake fruits now soaking in brandy, the best air freshener for the house.
4 Will be ordering in DH’s favourite takeaway pizza of course.
5 decided to try and sell a few clothes items as they are decent, will try fb and the bay, might give vinted a try as well.

Hello again.
Gosh, doesn't it get dark early these days?!
Didn't take much for me to turn grizzly again today, must be something in the water!!!
Anyway, let's find some pleasures:
1 Made my hazelnutty truffley things today, a lovely messy chocolately sort of job, very fiddly and time-consuming but so much more delicious than the ones in gold wrappers. Now safely tucked away in the freezer for the Christmas 'do'. Hubby did without his share of the leftover nutty chocolate because he interrupted me when I was asking him if he wanted some with something, to him, far more important so he never got to hear what I was saying so his loss and more for me. Haha!
2) Finally managed to track down some Amaretti biscuits so can make a truffle torte tomorrow. Haven't made one for yonks but remember it being very good so that will be another pudding ready. Feeling quite organised.
3) Can't remember now why I thought it was a good idea to knit everyone a mini Christmas stocking to be filled with mini chocolate goodies - sprouts, Father Christmases, snowmen and so on but at some stage I did and now I have finished 11 of the 12 so just one more to go. So cute! Also tracked down, while we were away, some gorgeous Christmas crackers at a very posh garden centre so my place settings are just about sorted.
Oooh, not sure why this is turning very much towards December so two more non-Christmas pleasures:
4) The patronising car salesman who ignored me and spoke only to hubby, greatly annoying both of us, has confirmed in our minds that we don't want one of his cars, the pleasure being we thought we did but his attitude and today's test drive means we can cross one off the list. His face when hubby told him that I was buying was a picture as he tried very hard to backtrack as we walked out of the showroom.
5) Going round in circles thinking about cars so came home and by 5.30 I was in my jarmers and snuggly dressing gown. That's me done for the day, I can now grizzle in peace!
Hope you've all had a good day and been listened to!!!
Enjoy the evening.6 -

For yesterday,
Window cleaner texted to ask if he could come this afternoon so quick trip out to village shop and it’s cashpoint as it’s his last visit of year & will need paying.
Over to the stables, earlier my friend had sent me a meme about having to ride fire breathing dragons at this time of year and as I watched my girlie bucking around the lunge pen I had to concede discretion was the best part of valour. She had a fine old time and thoroughly enjoyed slurping her way through the too ripe pear I gave her.
Over to Uni city in the afternoon for a haircut, nice to have it done but certainly wasn’t great driving home through the evening rush hour.
Had defrosted a packet of salmon leftovers and used that to whip up a couple of small frittata type things for tea.
Watched and enjoyed GBBO, chocolate week 😋7 -
Pleasures for yesterday (Wednesday)
1) Not a bad sleep.
2) Kitchen fitter made a lot of progress.
3) I changed my bed and tidied up a bit.
4) A friend suddenly invited me to Birmingham. I'm sure I hadn't been in the centre since pre-Covid. We went in on the train, did the business he needed to then walked on to Small Heath to find the cafe he had been to before. He wasn't sure where it was so we went to a Syrian in the end and he chatted with the staff and I had a massive pot of tea.
5) Back home and the spare room curtains had arrived. I'm very pleased with them. I put them up with my housemate and he swapped his bedding also.
6) Housemate stayed away overnight.
7) Mr U came round.7 -
You know when your computer dept says clear cache and cookies so you do and what you were hoping to fix isn't but all your passwords are gone. and you take a while to set up new ones cos you're rapidly losing the will. yeah that!
Have now read the 58 messages I missed - lovely to be back - glad to see you're on the mend ampers hope all well topsy
As you may have noticed we have been amber weather for much of the day, moving to red at 6. It is blowing a hooley out there so goodness knows what 6pm will bring! so mse pleasures
1) lucky enough to be able to work at home and pleased colleagues had postponed student teaching for today and let them know yesterday evening
2) pleased the workshop at Napier was yesterday and I got there and back safely and my colleagues were able to do the workshop to a full house (food was fab too)
3) relieved mum's jag was at 9 this morning so she was safely home - dog walker also came this morning so dogs snoozing contentedly albeit smelly and still a bit damp
4) remembered to bring in pot plants (4 sweet chillis) before they drowned and / or were blown down the garden
5) choir cancelled tonight (for obvious reasons) so will watch some more Shakespeare with mum - last night we finished https://www.bbc.co.uk/iplayer/episode/b0791mqd/shakespeare-live-from-the-rsc and really enjoyed the rather unusual Russell T Davies take on Midsummer Nights Dream. 1. Gog Magogs pause after - yes - sneaky drive to Addenbrookes. Didn't want to bother anyone or use up hospital transport. Further oncology ultrasound. Again, scrupulous ongoing NHS care.
2. Big rain, bits of Storm Babet maybe, but much blue sky right now. Appreciating looking at it, scenting fresh air, passenger window down.
3. An on-edge ABs osp for & 😃, with tomorrow night's 🏉World Cup semi-final edging closer. On verra -"Home » allblacks.com" https://www.allblacks.com

DD think we had the wind and rain through the night last night and this morning, not nearly as bad since this afternoon…think was heading eastwards! Hope you stay safe. I had a couple of garden things strewn this morning.Well I was wide awake through night then didn’t wake till 6.40am which is late for me but have no sense of time as it’s so blooming dark!Texted DD2…who’s bringing pup? Just chuck him in and send him upstairs! They did.Another day of doggy sitting. As much as I love him…
Went as far as supermarket for all of 20 minutes. However I started another library book and I’ve just finished it.Pulled some weeds in the garden. Was trying to have a chat with friend on phone…DD2 called and then sister called! Just call me Mrs Popular!Puppy finally picked up and a see you in 12.5 hours was issued!Sat with one dog at my side until I finished my book!9
