1 A grilled bacon sarnie in some rtc cranberry and cashew bread was rather tasty toasted up
2 I did a lot to clear out the green house we now have a tip run, as I created 5 black bags and 2 recycling bags, I popped 2 roses in there to over winter and cleared space for the baskets that are still blooming on the fence with flowers that won’t come back so we will wait for them to finish as they are still getting bees etc on them. As we are going to do a tip run, I went through my clothes and put together a bin bag of clothes that’s also loaded to go.
3 Dinner from freezer no choice as its keeling over it was a kiev with chips and beans. I need to start moving things like fruit out of it, and meal planning using the remaining meat. We missed out on the ebay freezer as I forgot to watch it so it didn’t remind me. Ops. It wasn’t what we wanted but for the price it went for we would have made it work.
4 I bought a cheap diary in January, and it’s given me a whole extra 4 days this week, I’m not sure I want to take them 😊
5 lo Christmas cake from the freezer so heating bits up and having them with elmlea.

Hello.
Fingers crossed for your lad, topsy.
Today's pleasures:
1) A glorious autumn day, still and mellow, just perfect.
2) An afternoon at our favourite garden, sitting in the warm sunshine watching the swans on the lake.
3) The diet was forgotten as tea and sticky caramel cake were consumed in the stables restaurant.
4) Home and an hour pottering in my summerhouse, all the more special because it will soon need to be packed up for the winter.
5) My new reading lamp is perfect, I can now read in my favourite chair in the bay window when it is dark as well as during the day. Just right for late winter afternoons and evenings.
Enjoying being back home, 'real life 'has a lot to commend it. Hope you've had a good day with some sunshine in your neck of the woods.8 -

Pleasures for today (Sunday)
1) Not a bad sleep.
2) I made the dough first thing for cinnamon buns.
3) Went to Aldi then housemate and I walked along the road from my house to look at the poppy fields. It was the first time I had ever walked from the house in that direction!
4) I met another friend in the afternoon who is so anxious and distressed at the moment that I doubt he will remember much of this month at all in the future. We had a cup of tea. What else can you do?
5) My housemate invited 2 mutual friends of our for dinner. I don't think I have ever hosted a dinner party. He did the stew, I did the salads. Our friend brought rhubarb crumble for pudding.
6) We watched the Wales v Croatia match and Wales won!

Keeping fingers crossed that everything goes well today Topsy.
For yesterday,
Up early and another chilly start.
TMS on the radio for most of the day, didn’t help and unlikely we will reach the semis now, question decision to field first?
Pottering in the garden, separated strawberry runners from parent plants, all but one had taken so even more strawbs next year.
Eldest DSS came round, he works abroad now and we don’t see much of him so lovely to catch up. He appreciated the cake as always ☺️He walked small dog with us then left for his brother’s, cold by then so heating on and we all snuggled on the sofa.6 -
Morning all
Recent pleasures:
Concert (Thea Gilmore) at the beautiful Union Chapel, preceded by boeuf bourginon in their Margins Cafe (a charitable project), good evening.
Met friend for a late lunch and wine at local Spoons, for a catch up. OH joined us after work.
Cooked a big batch of spicy butternut squash soup (using up one I already had, before harvesting mine).Garden tidying, pulled up the runner beans etc, tomatoes 🍅 still fruiting. Lovely, sunny Autumn day.
Yesterday I cooked up a big batch of mince and topped 2 lots with mashed potato and butternut squash, one for dinner and one for freezer, plus more cooked mince for freezer. Also made 2 apple sponges, one for freezer. Nice to have some homemade meals ready.
Heating on the last 2 evenings and we might have had a Baileys and chocolate whilst catching up on a couple of tv dramas 😊
Car to garage for MOT today 🤞
Have a good Monday all 😊
Best of luck to TT DS 2 😊7 -
Thank you for your good wishes for DS26

Hello! Bedtime! Well in bed to read my book! DD2 and pup are here for the night so we’ve all just came upstairs! Chap will come later after work.Quietish day. Took a load of stuff down to the charity shop at far side of town. Because I got my dinner set last week I’d to offset that with a getting rid of something! Otherwise I’ll turn into a hoarder like my mother! However did get a pair of hardly worn ( if at all) Fly London shoes! £4.75Sorted the curtain pole which was a bit squint and annoying! So back up the steps I went with my tools! And a contented sigh that it was much better! DD2 ‘you don’t actually notice it’s squint’…that’s because it’s not anymore!Started a book.Did clean my bathroom…however my overnight guests will have to use my shower as the other one is leaking down through living room light! Hardly ideal!Made sausages for tea, with lots of veggies which were all RTC. All very nice!A beautiful night sky, last keek of daylight and star filled. It’s been cold here but dry.7
