For yesterday,
A cup of tea in bed and listening to the wind lashing the rain against the bedroom window.
The bad weather lasted all morning so inside chores done, set some bread dough to prove then upstairs to change the bed, added the winter eiderdown as overnight temperatures are meant to drop, then back down to steep some dried fruit and sugar in hot tea ahead of making a tea loaf.
Over to the yard, girlie was one of the few that went out as she’s well behaved in the wind, fetched her in to be groomed and given a big hay net. Retired to the tea room with pal for natter over a cuppa. Got my girlie’s fleece rug out of storage and put it on her stable rack.
Capt S kindly said that he would do last dog walk of the day, both came home soaked so human & dog coats drying in boiler cupboard.
Tea was an easy chorizo & mozzarella frittata, enough leftover for lunch today, we both fell asleep watching the footie but woke up enough to then enjoy Gogglebox.8 -
TopsyTurphy - oh no! I am so sorry to read this.
🙏🙏🙏for you, for his team and a favourable outcome today.
Frith - I know that lost post horror only too well. I'm sure you worked and worked much of the day again, so later downtime 👍👌👏🏐
Dfv - even for a dfv classic, that was one For The Immortals' Shelf. All blessings to you ALL.
Lainey - feeling distinctly chilly this morning.

1. Just msgd local LP academic and rugby friend, re 🇳🇿🏉v🏉🇮🇪+Ref.Mr Barnes(he has major anti- ABs form). 💔for one of us by 22h ce soir.....
Kia Kaha Arohanui!
2. 💔💔💔already in Aotearoa general election. Looking like a🌹wipe-out, 😰😓🥶. Thankless, thankless, thankless......
Further, despite all-night efforts until polls closed at 7a.m. UK time, still couldn't vote online. More💔. Running updates in the Graun are horrific.
3.Physically, pain-free right now.
4. Lovely msg invitation from young friends - transport 'and refreshments 😃🍟🍔🍷of choice,'😋, to and fro for 🏆rugby watching today. Undecided, mustn't put anything at risk and that will be tricky either way. On verra.
5. Loved first prog in this new series on R4 last night:

Saturday!Up early. A beautiful star filled sky…and a very frosted car windscreen.
Skinny Minnie club
A big walk round the park. Sunny at the bottom of the park and an oddly coloured sky at the top…er that would be the rain 😆 Watched squirrels and birds and collected a few conkers. Lots of toadstools 🍄
Home, quickly changed ( out of lightest weighing clothing) to more weather appropriate and grabbed a dog boy and off we went our beautiful walk. Blue sky.Home and rain. Then blue sky! Repeat 😆 but nothing over 9o today.Fire on.Put up a curtain pole.Cut the back grass.
Made a very small apple and pear crumble which was very tasty!Chatters with various people throughout the day.
Curry for tea…currently stuffed.A good day.9 -
I appear to be having one of those weeks when I should be kept away from cooking, everything has been a combination of burned and cold at the same time. A door lock fell apart, a freezer started packing up, in fairness its over 32 years old, and a double-glazed window has “blown”, it’s great fun this home-owning malarky, but with everything going on in the world in fact a big privilege to have.
1 A few covid tests show clear, so just one of the many bugs.
2 Free delivery and an offer on take out, so that’s later.
3 Washing is still hanging out, and the duvet seems to have survived its wash, glad as it’s an expensive one in comparison to previous.
4 Researching freezers, new seems pricey, bu we want a big full height one now, second hand seem to have bidding wars, and fb marketplace local second hand are rusty.
5 The heating’s kicked in for the first time this autumn, and the windows have moved from cracked to closed

Pleasures for today (Saturday)
1) A fair to middling sleep.
2) Park Run. Some sad news today but we still had tea and cake.
3) Smaller son and I went to the football (FA Cup match). A 2-0 win. Saw my local councillor as we left so I told him about the homeless problem (though I'm sure he was aware).
4) I cut half the lower lawn then ran out of time.
5) All the dust from sanding walls in my room had got in my wardrobe so I did 4 loads of washing all the clothes in there and washed all the coat hangers in the sink.
6) My new house mate cooked the tea.
7) Watched television and stroked the cat between us all evening.7 -
Hello again.
Back from our few days in the Cotswolds, just quickly skimmed through your pleasures, will read properly in due course. Did see, however, that topsy has her boy back in hospital, hope all works out better this time - that poor lad!
We had a wonderful break in a beautiful part of the world with lovely weather up to us leaving to come home when the heavens opened! Ate far too much delicious food and drank a fair bit of red wine, the diet started in earnest after clambering onto the scales this morning - that was definitely not a pleasure! Sorted our next few meet-ups and holidays so a busy time ahead. Back to reality now for a while, lovely to be back in my own bed and to have a catch up with my bairn and oldest grandson who actually let me give him a cuddle - a rare occurence these days!
Definitely colder up here, heating is on and it is definitely feeling a bit back-endish. Off to bed now, will catch up with all your happenings and pleasures tomorrow.

For yesterday,
Yes, decidedly chilly Ampersand but the heating clicked in so house snug and warm.
Bit of a lazy morning really, did get the tea loaf in the oven so that smelt good but mostly reading and watching cricket.
Went to the yard mid afternoon and my girlie was by the gate ready to come in, her winter coat is really coming through now and is so soft. We went for a meander around the field which was lovely in the late autumn sunshine.Walked down to the local pub to meet friends for a meal, lovely food and lovely company.
Walking home, clear skies and the stars were out, warm inside from food & wine but glad I’d popped my gloves in my bag as decidedly chilly.5 -
1. 🇳🇿🏉💖What. A. Match!💖🏉🇨🇮. But, what a victory, despite Wayne Barnes' usual help to any AB opponents. We are all part of the rugby family. Oh, my boys! Kia Kaha Arohanui! Watched safely with legs up along sofa of young rugby scientist friends, so kind of them and a fabulous afternoon /evening. The disappointment of R, passionate Welsh supporter, was tough, but on we all go. Los Pumas next - vendredi soir, not much recovery time for & or ABs!😬
2. On return last night, fresh nightie, an extra woolly layer and first hwb of the season. Needed for snug - and hwb renewed this morning! Back to rest day today, ahead of last 2 qtr-finals later - wound check tmrw and med appts all week.
So, less🏉tension, but who, who, who? Fiji and France,🤞.
3. Sunny start gathering of latest tomatoes and walnuts, treading carefully. More raspberries and grapes enjoyed.
4. More🏉joys! Another 🦚🏉x3 wins hat-trick, all on the road and all away BP victories!
37-20, 🦚🏉 Nomads 27-21 and our 🦚🏉3s, 27-10.👏👍🫶💗💓💖

Sunday started very cold at 2o but a beautiful star filled sky.
Bit of a second snooze!
Went to beach with DD2 and pup, we got absolutely soaked! Like saturated soaked!Home and still dry and sunny in our town!Had a roll and sausage for lunch…puppy was given a wash in my shower!!Washing out and almost dried…ended up with loads of towels!Drove back down to beach town to pick up a butchers block trolley. ( you’d think you’d scrub it first but hey…a job for later) I’ve been looking out for one for ages. Had a lovely one in Melbourne that I’d sold.
DD2 had just dropped pup off as she has an appointment. Hello doggies.6
