Good morning. Grey here, very grey
Oh heck. It seems the stars are aligning badly for many on here.
S Sue - lovely to see you but quite understand about the difficulty finding pleasures. 57 weeks is a long time to contemplate being in pain. Many hugs x
P Kitten - you really couldn't make it up. All those weeks wasted. Fingers crossed they get their act together soon.
Highdays - ouch. That sounds awful. All of it. Hoping the dental visit goes more smoothly today. And that meds start to take effect on poor swollen face.
But in better news
Topsy T - congratulations on your promotion. You must be so pleased. And fingers crossed for DS op
Frith - the house is coming together well. It's great to hear you sounding so happy.
Wee Nancy - Kale is not allowed over the threshold. End of!
I'm glad to say there's very little to report here. No news is definitely good news at the moment.
We've sorted lots of admin this week. Good to have that out of the way. And have even started buying the odd Christmas present. Getme!
Got my new glasses and sorted out old ones. Two pairs to return to charity bin in opticians.
See what I mean. Very little to report. And that's good!
Happy Friday everyone. And much love to those who can't manage happy just now x

For yesterday,
Quick trip into town for provisions and a coffee with my pal
More errands, pet store for small dog’s kibble and to pick up some of her favourite treats, they do a range of bakery items for dogs so she was treated to some cheese paws and liver brownies. I keep her food in a large container in the understair cupboard and she stands next to me as I open the bags to tip it all in as she knows she will be required for quality control ☺️With my bigger girl for most of the afternoon, mild and sunny so lovely to be outside.
Raised a glass in honour of my big brother who should have been celebrating his birthday, miss him every day.
A new series of All Creatures Great and Small, the kind of gentle tv that’s a balm to the soul.9 -
Lainey I enjoyed All creatures too and thoroughly enjoyed it! And it made me think of my mum as she enjoyed it too.Anyway up early.
Went to skinny club. Different club. Then went to castle and had a lovely walk with doggy. We had such a nice morning weather wise but as forecast heavy rain later.Puppy dropped off and then DD2 had dental surgery so is staying here overnight.Having an early night…last time DD2 was up vomiting often! Sorry so many are going through a difficult time at the moment. PK, I can't believe how this is dragging on for you.
Pleasures for today (Friday)
1) A mediocre sleep.
2) Gave the bathroom a proper clean and de mould.
3) Up to date (almost) with the washing and ironing.
4) Went to the weekly coffee morning at the local theatre. Had a game of chess and a game of reversi.
5) Into town afterwards for a pot of tea and to do some Arabic.
6) Back home and took about 4 hours to remove all the wallpaper in my room. No terrible shocks underneath, just lots of hairline cracks to fill again.
7) Watched television for much of the evening.10 -
For yesterday,
A mild, breezy day which was perfect for drying washing on the line.
Mostly admin chores in the morning and got a few surveys completed, my aim is to earn a thousand from them this year and am on track.
Playing ponies in the afternoon sunshine with my friend.
Capt S finished work at 4 so we shared a cuppa and caught up on our days.
Quiet evening watching tv, a grateful client had gifted him with a box of assorted G&B mini chocolate bars so we enjoyed them.10 -
Gosh Lainey! What mild breezy day was that? & had mostly soggy, most of the day!
1. Just thoroughly enjoyed reading this in today's Graun. Has to be the 'Mustn't Miss Exhibition of the Year'!😁https://www.theguardian.com/world/2023/oct/07/like-something-from-bake-off-animal-poo-exhibition-opens-in-london
2. After listening to a brilliant 'My Cousin Rachel,' this morning, this came on - equally, if differently, fascinating - Fenny lands prehistory/archæology.

Currently listening to Bangla Desh v Afghanistan.
3. Lovely summer pudding for brekkie, last of the Harvest Festival lunch so kindly delivered to &.
4. Well, Les Bleus played rather well hier soir. Karl Dickson's reffing was predictably lamentable. Disallowing Italy's try was another dreary error. Neither side needed it.
5. Snuck out in darkness to a MrT, only 6 miles, for fresh basics+(otherwise prescribed)paracetamol. Managed. Don't tell, please🤫🤐. Not a single twinge, but will stay absolutely put today. DG for more fresh oranges, plain natural yogurt, apples, broccoli, milk etc.

Hope DD has been ok overnight, Mhags - that's a big dentistry nasty.

Weekends of happy choice to all reading here.♥️🙂CAP[UK]for FREE EXPERT DEBT &BUDGET HELP:

1) visit to Surrey Docks farm
2) boat trip to Westminster - saw Tower Bridge opening for the Waverley
3) visiting where I used to work on Tothill Street, now a Premier Hub - we stopped for a cuppa, £2.25 each so not too shabby at all
4) Walk up through St James Park to Hamleys (we didn't buy anything, ditto Liberty's)
5) very nice Italian for supper as a thank-you to DD2 and her BF for free accommodation in London

Highdays, thinking of you and DH, hoping all the various ouchies are easing this weekend?
The lady at the hospital phoned to check on me.
1 I fell off the diet wagon in some style today by starting the day with a grilled bacon sarnie, but also decided its not the end of the world, so we are ordering in a Chinese later, which will inevitably be lunch tomorrow also.
2 Took kit for his check up and he’s signed off as nearly recovered now, and the vet kindly gave us a multi-use prescription.
3 It was absolutely freezing last night in the house it’s probably time to start getting the heating to switch on when it drops below a point now. But it turned into a beautiful day, I did a quick mow and called it done in the garden.
4 Some severe tidying / de cluttering required in the spare room turned junk room, I made a start
For today
1 We are both flu/covid jabbed again, it feels like a privilege.
2 It's an easy food type of day so takeaway leftovers and freezer to oven pizza.
3 A bit of a lazy day.
4 Sat in the sun fo a while with a cuppa and book.
