For yesterday,
Another early start at the yard as equine pal had her physio treatment, after the shenanigans the day before I asked him to particularly check her back Justin etc but he couldn’t find any tightness at all which reinforced my belief that it was hormonal.
Afterwards she fell asleep in her stable, blissfully zonked out, whilst we had a coffee and caught up on all the news, he’s been treating my girl since I first got her and we have several friends in common.
Home, lunch, then I zonked out on the sofa and had an hours nap! small dog snuggled up alongside.
Looking out the kitchen window and there was the littlest wren drinking from a small puddle of rain water on the path, know we have them in the garden as often hear their song but they are rarely seen, my favourite of the small birds.
Watched the football with half an ear on the local derby EFL match, we lost!5 -
Bedtime! It’s dark. Coolish. And lashing with rain. So bed seems like the cosiest place.Up not too early. Beautiful sunrise.Put my newly painted table in to its new location.Went to garden centre and enjoyed a cheese scone. Had a wander round all the Christmas decorations! I love ‘em! Do not need! Drove through town to get there but came back motorway.Came home and was looking in garage for something and decided to start the epic task of trying to sort it out. Everyone else has stuff in my garage. Grrr! Anyway it was like an emotional assault as there’s husbands stuff, mother stuff, stuff from when kids were wee. So I just sobbed in between putting stuff in appropriate places ( bins/charity/find a place for)
Walked up to shop to post another parcel. It’s about 15 minutes walk each way.Made mince and potatoes for tea with peas, carrots and sprouts ( real food PP)
Went round to see mum’s NDN . Had a good blether. Was getting dark as I walked back and very heavy rain.9 -
If anyone’s looking for a kindle fiction book, I wandered and bought this on offer at 99p today it’s called Cackle, not a promotion of it as I haven’t read it, just thought it may be useful if anyone’s looking.
1 All the domestic goddess stuff achieved before ten, the place smells of shake and vac so it could be worse, but it also created 4 wash loads.
2 My BP, is literally up and down like you wouldn’t believe, not sure if this is a pleasure, but I am doing a lot to learn how to control it in stress, the lump area is playing up a lot today trying to not show it.
3 Thinking about packing away summer clothes, but not quite got to it yet.
4 The little wagtail is back with a friend; I haven’t seen them for months.
Some gardening achieved, weeded the back wall via a ladder and cut back a rather enthusiastic Passiflora.

Keep going, PK.
Pleasures for today (Wednesday)
1) Not a bad sleep.
2) My brother came round at 9 a.m and I made a cooked breakfast for us.
3) My brother took down 3 cupboards in the kitchen and 2 boxes covering pipework. He also took down a weird fitted shelf thing in the spare bedroom and planted a crab apple tree that has been waiting in a pot for 2 years.
4) After he left, I pulled up the laminate kitchen floor, the underlay and another layer of flooring underneath. (There are 4 layers of flooring...)
5) My friend came round and we took the rest of the wallpaper down in the spare room, plus the absolutely ancient curtains and pelmet.
6) When I was driving my friend home, we passed a mutual friend. I couldn't pull over but the lights went red so I stopped at the front of the queue. My friend had to lean out of the window and bellow to get his attention then he had to run along the pavement and throw himself in the back of the car before the lights changed!
7) Had a ready made lasagne plus garlic bread for tea.8 -
Good evening all, 👋
Dear Mhags, we could be sharing quite a bit today - cheese scone😋, unusual for & but hoping we don't share big rain as .....
1. Have just put out big washing in pitch dark, no moon, light not reaching even ½-way down back, besides - oak and walnut trees and grapes to negotiate. Not a fib. Am dinged by separate little bullets, coshed by bunches, garotted by branches at every juncture. But done and another coloured deep wash underway .....🙂don't ask. Involved overspill/big rugby club chilli drop-off, gratefully received at Jimmy's Night Shelter, but later......🫣😬🥴
2. So busy🦚🏉🌟. Another last minute penalty kick loss on Saturday, so tough, so sad, first home match of the season. Crazy weather to have played, 38.2⁰ on pitch and we lead for most, played strongly, but def missed X at line-out. Incredible £700 raised with raffle, & being in HRH coshing mode for first raffle of season.
All were well forewarned 'Mention the All Blacks' result and it's double tickets....at least!' Useless xyz Foster.....🤬😡👹isn't even a start. Bilingual & also does love Toto Dupont.🤩
3. Glorious late night🏉Saturday in the Alma, stood in for absent Welsh rugby friends😁in my kiwi Gatland persona and therefore won, but What A Match! Then with Welsh patron D, screamed and shouted for Medvedev, on the 'my enemy's enemy is my friend' principle, but beating Alcaraz had taken so much from him.
The Great Djokovic Loathe continues, with Farrell in same barred cell crate.👺👹👿
3. The NHS, friends and friendships, real fellowship.
5. Reasons to give thanks, here and now, ongoing.

Thinking of you PK
For yesterday,
Sloggus domesticus first thing, as always the pleasure is when done.
With my equine pal, worked her and she was back to her beautifully behaved self. Mini pamper afterwards as I thinned out her mane.
Decent afternoon weather wise so spent it in the garden, tomato plants stripped so that just stalks & fruits left, planted up some lambs lettuce seedlings and noticed that one of the potato pots has sprouted new foliage so suspect we missed one when sorting through!
All accompanied by TMS and the wonderful afternoon had by Mr Stokes and all.
Capt S came home from meeting with platter of left over goodies from team meeting, they order from local bakery and are far too good to be left, some frozen and some put by for lunches today & tomorrow.8 -
Hello again.
PK, can only admire how strong you are being, hope something gets sorted soon. Did you ever find out what the missed call from the hospital was about the other day?
Struggling to come up with pleasures at the mo, my eyes are swollen and sore again, I can barely see, and we are both full of the most dreadful cough and cold - hoping that is all it is as we appear to have all the new Covid symptoms but have been told the tests we have are not geared up to the new strain so we would test as negative anyway! The boys' mum and her partner have it but haven't been with the boys for a while and they are all symptom-free. My niece and her partner also have it and my brother has symptoms too, small possibility we caught it from him if he has it but who knows...
Anyway, pleasures must be found:
1) At least I have my 'emergency' antibiotics so could get started on them very quickly, and luckily didn't need them while we were away.
2) Nowhere we need to be and nothing we need to do urgently, thank goodness. Staying in and keeping away from everyone, not that we feel like gadding anyway!
3) Spoke to my pal who has finally had surgery on her foot to correct the break she got in the first lockdown which didn't heal correctly and has caused her huge pain ever since (and all she did was trip over the shoes her hubby had left outside the back door!).She is recovering well.
4) Enjoying my latest book set in Northumbria, not too heavy which is good for poorly head!
5) Luckily had stocked up on fresh fruit, veg and salads so quick and easy meals with stuff fom the freezers. Don't feel much like eating so this will boost the diet - every cloud has a silver lining!
There, that wasn't too hard. Off to bed shortly as struggling to get warm - unlike last week!
Have a good evening.

Evening all.
been absent as having got rid of Covid, I then developed a post Covid virus (itchy rash, Covid symptoms and generally feeling awful). It finally seems to have gone 🤞as no rash for 2 days and feeling a lot better.
I’m glad it is somewhat cooler, lovely here today, about 24 degrees and sunny, perfect for hot tubbing and getting the washing dry 😊
I was discharged from physio today (“keep doing the exercises”) as nothing else she can do (arthritis and scoliosis). Just as well as the car parking had gone up to £3.30 for 0-1 hour! I think it was £2.20 when I last went.
My bus pass arrived today, although I’m not sure if I’ll use it as I’m not used to buses and I’m not sure I could walk to and between bus stops!
We’re finding tv so boring lately, apart from the odd drama, so this evening after a game of online scrabble we watched YouTube music videos (ranging from the Real thing to Jack Savoretti). Much more enjoyable.
I had a workman do a couple of jobs today, paint the garage door and repoint the ridge tiles. Cost a lot of £ for half a days work but the door looks much better and hopefully the repointing will stop the occasional leak during torrential rain and secure the ridge.
Tomorrow’s plans include collecting our Euros (we’re off to Lesvos 🇬🇷🌞 again next week) and getting my hair cut.
Night all 💤7 -
I too watched the Scotland England match, in a Scottish pub with the very Scottish DrM - I cheered internally!
For yesterday
1) successful external joining them online
2) lunch with friends - they meet regularly but they are all retired so i don't get to join them often
3) then spotted another 2 retired friends so joined them for a glass of wine - loving my staycation
4) then met dd2 in town and we had a lovely wander
5) then went to Matthew Bourne Swan Lake with gbf
and today, a nsd
1) quite a bit of sorting - found my dad's birthday present which i 'put in a safe place' - will take it down next month
2) lunch in the garden - lovely sunny day
3) found my home office floor - knew it was there somewhere 🤣
4) first GWSE of the academic year - quite a good turn out and very good speaker
5) then walked home with previous presidentMrsSD declutter medals 2023 🏅🏅🏅⭐⭐ 2025

Pleasures for today (Thursday)
1) Good to get up. Suddenly developed a ferocious cold or similar in the middle of the night.
2) Picked my friend up and sat in the cafe for nearly 3 hours, sorting his paperwork out. We drank a lot of tea!
3) Did some Arabic.
4) Did a load of washing so had to fire up the heating to dry it.
5) Tasty tea of chicken, chips, onion rings and peas.
6) Watched Ambulance.
7) Both sets of neighbours will be on holiday for a few days from tomorrow so they've been round to make sure I feed the cat with no home!6
