Pleasures for today (Sunday)
1) Not a bad sleep.
2) The clean up continues. A proper going over of the laminate in the hallway and kitchen, very dirty and speckled with paint and wallpaper scrapings.
3) Was going to go to M and S but my friend was ready early so I picked him up instead. We painted from about 1pm until after 9pm.
4) We made omelette for lunch then stew and rice for tea.
5) Just got round to doing my Arabic.
6) Phoned my school friend.9 -
Where did I leave it?
Aches and Pains and Blood out of a Stone!
Jen sends herAnd it is MunDay!
The weakened passed a bit fast. Painting in the Chat Oo of the Admiral continues, with the hall sealing and closet done second coat. Looking good!
We has the stakes on FryDay nite, with grilled mushrooms and tom. Very tasty with some wobbleade. Another Sherlock was viewed!
SatDay was at the Veterans Brakefest. Snorkers were consumed with mugs of tee! Banter was usual, butt not for the feint harted!
SunDae we has the usual snorker fest. BoPsie decided that she needed a reversion, and gets a emporium snorker. She regretted it and corrective action has bin taken. We only has one lot of proper snorkers left in the freezer! Trip organised to reflll has bin sore ted! In time for the freezer to be deiced reddy for ...
We has grilled sal;mon for tee last nite with homemaid parsley sauce, strawberries as well!
Watched another Sherlock last nite. Not suitable for sharing as it is littered with a warning at the start! Please ignore, as I is old enuff to make head and tales out of it! Wobbleades were consumed with cheeses!
Jen saysI work from home so my cat can be fed on demand!9 -
Hello! I’m now a stay at home dog mum 😆 no longer a working woman! For now…watch this space…but not quite yet, taking a bit of time just for me.
Woke with a very sore hip…could hardly walk. But had to lurch in to work for my very last day! Hurrah! It passed. I left!Tips in the jam jar for the last time.
It’s been a beautiful day.Got lovely leaving gifts. A bouquet of flowers, tub of chocs and an afternoon tea voucher for 2 for my favourite place. Then was just on the phone to my sister when DD2 and puppy arrived with more flowers and a chocolate cake and a card with beautiful words.Had ordered a brooch from Tasmania which arrived today so that was very nice to receive this morning.Got chips for my tea! Last time of coming out of work seemed like the perfect occasion!10 -
Mhags - congratulations. Onwards and upwards, i wait with breath baited to see what's next.
pleasures recently
1. a fab weekend in Wales. Fantastic weather helps of course. THursday i met up with my brother and new SiL who were 'minimooning' nearby
2. I walked by the sea - a lot. I also walked along lanes and over fields
3. catching up with friends is always good
4. good journeys there and back. we stopped off on the way back to see one friend's new house - it's nice, but not as nice as their old house and we're not quite sure why they've moved.
5. laughing hysterically at OH spilling a load of cashew nuts everywhere - mainly cos he was disproportionately cross. The crosser he got the more i laughed and the crosser he got... Had to remove myself to recover (so that he could then recover)...
have a great evening all.I wanna be in the room where it happens9 -
Pleasures for today (Monday)
1) A good sleep!!
2) Kitchen man arrived at 10am and said there should be no problem with the fitting. He will also fold down a radiator (can't remember the right word) so I can remove some weird cladding behind it.
3) Went to town for a quick look around then did some Arabic in M and S.
4) Went to floody town (awkward with the bridge shut) and went round the charity shops. Bought a painting. Also bought a book for my brother's 40th birthday and ordered him a specific tool that might be useful.
5) Cleaning continues, both of decorating leftovers but also of things that have been left while I have been busy.
6) Painted the ceilings off the hallway, stairwell and landing. Rather too hot for that really.
7) Tidied up and put the photos back on the fireplace and plants back.
8) Took smaller son to Sainsburys. He helped with some of the painting high up over the stairs.
9) Had a flyer here today about a coffee morning on Fridays in the theatre (just down my road) so I might go to that.
The silly man who sent me a character assassination last week, then blocked me, contacted me again today. I had asked a mutual friend to take back some stuff that silly man had left here. Apparently, that was a terrible thing to do (said silly man) and "not right" and he denied all knowledge of his possessions being here to my friend (who had seen them with his own eyes...) He then blocked me again before I could reply! So the pleasure is being reminded that he has not suddenly improved...9 -
new beginnings for mhags and frith
for the weekend
1) the garden is finished hooray - well the hard landscaping is - we now have a blank canvas - we went to the garden centre with my birthday gift - 2 hot drinks and 2 sweet treats
2) also bought a hose - i had been blaming mrpiano's dog for chewing through the last one but the builder found an old rats' nest so may have maligned the dog
3) mum dropped me and DD2 in town 0 we had a lovely time. bought shoes in the sale (was indeed looking for shoes) and a much cheaper but just as nice peg tin at HomeBargains rather than trendier shop
4) sunday after lunch took stuff to the dump then went to the garden centre and bought 5 huge hanging baskets and a bird feeding station - asked advice and he said get the home brand one so we did
5) hung the hanging baskets then watered them with my lovely new hose pipe - is it sad to get so excited about a hose pipe?!
and today
1) my bus pass arrived hooray
2) beautiful sunny day - had breakfast in the garden (did i mention my garden's done?)
3) used my bus pass twice (will have to make sure my step count doesn't suffer too much though)
4) nice supper from lo ys pork from yesterday
5) short walk with the boys and now i'm ready for bedMrsSD declutter medals 2023 🏅🏅🏅⭐⭐ 2025

Good morning. Yet more sun!
@DigForVictory - please look after yourself. There are lots of seedlings out there depending on you for survival ( and we need a regular dosage of your epic posts too)
@Purple_kitten - very busy by the sounds of it. Enjoy your day off.
@mhagster - such a relief to say goodbye to something that doesn't ' spark joy'. Enjoy the new adventures that are bound to come your way.
@Frith - another very busy person. I'm glad silly man unwittingly confirmed just how silly he is. You're well off out of that one!
Had to return yet another pair of DH trousers to Next yesterday. Went to the Outlet store and as we walked in I spotted a very bling dress. Perfect for a cruise ( useless for the rest of my lifestyle). My size, £20. Sold! I can always get DD to sell it on Vinted for me post cruise!
DDiL came round yesterday afternoon with DGC. A lovely time discussing the new term's timetable, doing a jigsaw and having tea parties with the gravel in the garden. ( ages range from nearly 15 to 3 so a range of activities needed!)
Gradually weeding out summer clothes once worn and washed. Most to the rag bag, but the odd thing that I've never really liked, so rarely worn, to the charity bag. No point storing them for another winter!
Happy 🌞 day everyone

Morning all
Recent pleasures:
the beautiful moon (2 days after the full blue moon, because of the clouds)
Gorgeous sunset on Sunday after a warm, sunny day
Dips in the hot tub, making the most of the unexpected lovely weather
Beach hut day with friend yesterday at Brighlingsea. We had a nice time despite the awful journeys (road works and road closures) and that due to a mix up a builder was laying a new deck and we couldn’t get into the beach hut until the afternoon!Good news is that friend has bought her own beach hut in Holland on Sea and should soon have the keys, so we will be able to go whenever we want too!
Have a good Tuesday everyone. I’m going food shopping then will have an afternoon avoiding the heat and hot tubbing! 😊9 -
Morning all - nother day nother train (this one is to Kent)
Pleasures for yesterday
