5 OS pleasures in your day today - part 3

PK if bloods are being taken in hospital they should have an infrared vein finder. Or ask for an anaesthetist to find your vein. Pop your hand in a basin of warm water to plump them up. You should not be stabbed that many times. For Thursday
Up early.
Took myself to garden centre and enjoyed a cheese scone.
Got petrol on way home as I’d seen a garage that was 5p/l cheaper than my local one.
Dropped off another Vinted parcel and then added new items to sell.Washed some more coats/gilets . All dried.
Made curry for tea.
Went round to see mums NDN and had a good blether. Met other neighbour on my way home so had a quick chat with them. Was almost dark when I got home. Don’t like being out in the dark. Never have.10 -
Oh, PK, that sounds jabby and nasty.
Well, my day started off miserably, as I waved goodbye to another unsuitable man. (Not literally). He took the opportunity to undertake another thorough character assassination of me. Sadly, there was one point in today's moaning monologue which is actually true, which made it hurt more!
Anyway, pleasures for today (Thursday)
1) Not a bad sleep.
2) Goodbye, silly little man.
3) Walked into town. It's a long way, even along the canal. Chuntered to myself as I walked.
4) Sat in M and S to do some Arabic. They were short of space so the lovely Robin and Mrs Robin (she didn't give her name) joined me and talked about coming from Scotland, their children, grandchildren and everything they get up to. They were very good company, Mrs Robin with her perfect white bob and Robin with his twinkly eyes.
5) Somehow managed to walk back from town!
6) Smaller son ordered a pizza and I had a chat with the delivery man and he wrote his name and number on the box!!! (No, I won't be phoning him).
7) Spent 5.5 hours painting which was the first proper (post mist) coat on the living room and dining room ceilings then a mist coat for the entire hall, stairs and landing. Finally, I can see an improvement. It was easier in the old house where you could paint everything whilst still standing on the floor. I had to use a roller, a broom handle and smaller son to reach over the stair well.
8) Cheery messages from bigger son.
9) Made tomato sauce to go with ravioli.
10) Watched Ambulance.10 -
Evening all.
Been a lovely sunny day here but it was dark by about half past eight, definitely autumnal now the nights are speedily drawing in.
PK, so sorry you had to go throught that, I don't mind needles in the least but that would have annoyed me greatly. We will be away when you have your op but will be thinking about you and wishing you well.
Today's pleasures:
1) A manic day, charging about and with some stressful elements but all is done, the bags are packed and we are ready to go.....sounds like a song!
2) Car was 'recovered' from outside the house at 7.15am - amazed as they had promised between 6 and 8 and I never thought that would happen - oh me of little faith! Work done, MOT passed, all good. Phew! Filled up with fuel tonight - and, yes, it was dark when we got home, nice to get tucked up all cosy.
3) Doctor's appointment, not a lot further on til my so-called urgent appointment with the specialist comes through but related the antics of the weekend and that I don't want a flare-up while we are away and he has given me two weeks' worth of 'just in case' meds. Hopefully won't need them but have them in the luggage just in case. He has a very holistic approach which I really like.
4) Cooking and baking done, cakes and a lasagne for the first night tomorow. Spoke to one brother, they too have been baking cakes and brownies and making the garlic bread. Other brother has a carful of wine and booze! Super-slim sis is bringing the salad, hey ho!!! We can get into the property - The Old Mill House, but it's mostly very modern! - from 4pm tomorrow so a leisurely drive up and lunch on the way to get us into holiday mode. If we arrive early we have a lake in the garden with wildlife so can walk down to the bridge and wait for the others to arrive.
5) Had a quick clean and tidy up so we will have a nice welcome home next weekend.
Will catch up on all your pleasures in just over a week's time, hope everyone stays as well as possible, go steady and take care. Happy September!

I’ve just watched Ambulance too !
PK try and drink a lot before you go tomorrow ,if it’s at the hospital ask for a senior phlebotomist ,do you know one vein that usually plays ball?
I also have terrible veins but have one slightly out of the way that works well ,if I can persuade the vampire to use that one there isn’t a problem but if they won’t listen …..
good luck tomorrow .11 -

For yesterday,
It was definitely a bit fresh for first dog walk of the day so fleece much appreciated.
At the yard, cleaned my tack ahead of friend exercising my girlie while I’m away, topped up her feed bins and generally got everything ready for my absence. She will be on full livery so well looked after.
Not exactly a pleasure but was out in her field checking on grass etc, heard a screech and looked up to see a raptor flying off with a small bird held in its claws, nature is deadly but beautiful.
Into Uni City for haircut, not the usual relaxing experience as there were two children waiting for their Dad to have a haircut and apparently it’s not acceptable to say no, sit down and behave! Luckily my hairdresser wasn’t so reticent and as it’s his salon……
Bit of a freezer meal, enjoyed the womens cricket match against Sri Lanka and then headed to bed with my book.

@Purple_kitten - Two of my roommates require a lot of water intake and multiple jabs too. One of them was in the office 5 days in a row. They finally used a vein in his ankle. Do you have veins in other places they might use? Good luck. We will all be sending hugs on that day.9
