Hello. Bedtime.Up early.
Puppy sitting this morning.
Walked to post a Vinted parcel. Was a nice walk up past my old school. Had a nice but random conversation with a lady on the way back.
Did a bit of pruning in the garden.Washing out and most of it dry and got it in before the rain came on .Friends over for tea. Chopped up a packet of sausages, little potatoes, carrots, courgettes, leeks and peppers and popped in the oven to all roast. An£ then we had cabbage, cauliflower, broccoli and peas from the garden. Was delicious…I’m sure I say that every Tuesday 😆
And a rhubarb crumble for pudding. Also delicious. With a serve of crumble topping mix in the freezer for another day.Chatter and laughter!Stars in the sky.9 -
Hello again.
Mixed weather today, some sun and then it was warm and some cloud and then it was cold. Still not sure what clothes will be needed on holiday!
Today's pleasures:
1) Funny you should mention stars, mhagster, as littlest fella and I have been delving into the world of stars today. Started with me telling him there are more stars in the sky than there are grains of sand on the earth. Had lovely chats about 'where does it all end' and did a bit of research. Apparently there are about 200 billion trillion stars in the known universe and many, many more galaxies still to be discovered. Little fella now thinks being an astonaut may be where his future lies, he is on a mission to discover new galaxies!
2) A big sleep last night, albeit with some weird and vivid dreams and feeling quite a bit better today so returned some stuff to the shopping centre and had afternoon tea out. Yummy.
3) Sorted bits and pieces in preparation for the holiday, feeling quite oganised though Thursday will be somewhat fraught, but can't do anything about that other than to get as sorted as we can beforehand.
4) Hubby painted my toenails for me and in return I trimmed his hair - been doing it since the first lockdown and he must have saved a fortune on hairdresser bills. I do a pretty good job if I say so myself and he does my toenails better than I can so a fair division of labour!
5) Sister and hubby are going to see The Mousetrap tonight. Happy memories of taking my mum and dad down to Bristol a few years ago to meet up with my brother and his wife who bought us all VIP tickets for hubby's birthday pressie.Had a wonderful evening with champagne and nibbles reception beforehand and we none of us guessed whodunnit! Sister said my mum had told her very serioulsy that she was not allowed to tell her and that she had to go and see if for herself! Then had a look at some photos of happy days with mum and dad and got a bit weepy, oh dear!
Just not quite a full moon tonight but looks spectacular in a clear sky. The universe surely is a wondrous thing. And on that note, I'm off to my bed. Night night!8 -
Good morning. Still sunny!
D Doll - belated happy birthday. You're nobbut a spring chicken. Enjoy!
P Kitten - hope you've got some answers by now, and even more, that they are good news
S Sue - I know what you mean about consultant letters. See below!
DfV - the Northern Soul proms did indeed lead to a lot of jigging about in situ.
Nothing much happening here, but what little there was came to a halt yesterday.
A copy of the consultant's letter to his surgeon colleague implies that DH situation is worse than we thought. It's gone from biopsy shows no changes to immunotherapy recommended, to now radical surgery recommended. DH is very stoic, and had had a phone consultation last week, but to see it in black and white really brought it home. He is to see a nurse specialist late September to discuss all this.
Meanwhile we are trying to put it behind us and enjoy the upcoming cruise. We have decided not to discuss with DS and DD until after then.
Ah well, onwards and upwards!
Happy 🌞 day everyone9 -
I’m so sorry to read this Happycas ,agree seeing it all laid out in black and white hits hard .
I really hope you enjoy the cruise and agree about not telling children until after .
where are you cruising ,we both loved it and I have many happy memories7 -

Thinking of PK as well
For yesterday,
Trip into horsey town for a food shop not much needed as going on holiday on Friday.
The main A road that I use to drive first part to the yard was blocked by an accident so cross country instead, took longer but nice route and saw several houses up for sale that would happily move to!
My pal and I set up some cross poles in the lunge pen, first worked her pony then mine, something different for them. They shared my girlie’s apple afterwards.
Caught up on the quizzes.
Rain lashing against the windows around 9pm, cosy to be inside but sky clear by the time small dog visited the garden for her last wee at 10 and stars were out.

5. Called on oldest Northern hemisphere uni friend, her birthday on Friday. Our usual munch will be postponed this year, but will happen asap. Saw the musical pretend toilet for young grandson to be big boy with when visiting.😁👏. Brilliant! Marvellous idea, effective and fun.

Hello - AWOL again. Don't even know how long..
I haven't read a lot back but can see that PK needs some strength sending, as does Happycas. Thinking of you both.
Pleasures recently
1. My brother is married again - it was a truly lovely day.
2. seeing cousins i haven't seen in a loooong time, and for once at a 'happy' event.
3. My friend, on seeing me done up in my finery, "that's as good as it gets, I suppose" 🤔🙄🤣.
