Back again!
I am procrastinating, should be trying clothes on and packing, both of which I detest so here I am again!
weenancy - yes, they did enjoy it, thank you. Amazing after all these years that 'whodunnit' is not broadcast widely, seems people CAN keep a secret!
VJsmum - had to laugh at your friend's comment. Had been trying to explain to grandson the meaning of the phrase 'Damning with faint praise' - a brill example here so thank you!!! Lovely news about your brother and many congrats to him.
Today's pleasures:
1) Been thinking about the not well people on here and sending hugs and good wishes through the airwaves - not a pleasure obviously, but the fact that we have a little caring and supportive community is a pleasure, never forgotten how lovely you all were to me last year, it really helped. Hope our support helps all those on here who need it x
2) Had another really good sleep but again with very vivid dreams, have come to the conclusion it's a result of the meds but a very welcome change to sleep well and feel better for it.
3) Son had to take middle grandson to a hospital appointment to change the cast on his arm. Pretty sure nobody would be terribly interested in why he has this but he's had one on for about 3 weeks to try to straighten his arm that doesn't work too well, it's gone from 50% to 40% and they are hoping this one takes it to 30% (of what I'm not sure!) but apparently they are very pleased with progress. Hopefully this will save him having an operation to transplant muscle from his shoulder so fingers crossed eventhough he will have to return to school with this sort of rigid, cast thing on his arm. One of the biggest pleasures of my life is that there are amazing skilled surgeons on this earth doing miraculous things.
4) While 3) was happening we took little fella out for lunch and to the play park. Love spending time with him and he still wants to be an astronaut! I'll miss him when he goes back to school, had a fab summer with him.
5) Getting excited now about our week in Northumberland. Looking forward to hopefully getting the car sorted tomorrow but mine is washed and prepped in readiness if needed. Busy day tomorrow (hence I'm supposed to be packing now) then we are off on Friday morning.
Right, better get back to it. A lovely evening here, pretty sure it'sthe blue moon tonight. Little fella tells me the next one will be in 2037 so must remember to have a look!11 -
1 I have a pre operation assessment in hospital tomorrow, having answered I kid you not, over 100 questions on a form blimey.
2 Hoovered and mopped the whole house.
3 Finished a book, time for another.
4 Ran a couple of errands including popping to Aldi, its still a surprise how much things are costing.
5 Picked a couple of bowls of home grown tomatoes and salad leaves, something very satisfying about it.
Looking out for the moon tonight.

5) Listened to a podcast.
Today
1) Not a bad sleep.
2) Took a few bags of garden waste and clippings to the tip.
3) Took a bag to the charity shop.
4) Continued tidying (not so furiously) and did a couple of loads of washing.
5) Went to M and S for a pot of tea plus some Arabic.
6) Dug another 2 metre stretch of garden.
7) Made a posh tea. Rice, okra stew then stir fried beef.
8) Watching television now.9 -
Bedtime. Can’t see the moon but it’s quite cloudy. Hopefully see it in the morning.
Up early.
Hoovered and washed floors then we went out to local castle. Had a lovely walk. It was such a beautiful morning.Home and cut the grass. This took longer than usual as two different sets of neighbours went by so chatted to them.Phoned my sister.Cleaned my bathroom
Tidied the plants at front door and swept up.Started to tidy the shed. The shed was painted beautifully a few years ago and was going to be a potting shed but it became a log shed but it’s such a faff to go all the way round and up past the full length of house ( with extension) and it’s such a narrow space that you would knock your elbows on the wall/ fence as you manhandled a bag of logs…usually in rain / cold/ wind . So last year I made room in the garage for logs. Anyway it’s been on the to do list for summer…it’s almost autumn. Messaged a friend if she wanted wood to cut down. Son had acquired it and it’s too big for me to deal with so they can have it if they come and get it! It’s a bit spidery in the shed…eek! Once empty of logs it shall become a potting shed again.Hoovered car…half a beach and half a dog.Tidied porch. Everything out…hoovered, dusted, back in place.Picked up pupster from doggy daycare. He’s always exhausted.Had washed big coats today, almost dry. Thankfully brought in before a randomly heavy shower.DD2 for tea. Had the same as last night as it was so tasty.
And whilst oven was on I made oatmeal cookies and a peach crumble.
Sold two more things on Vinted.11 -
For yesterday,
Bit of sloggus domesticus first thing and went through upstairs.
At the yard, much cooler day and was glad of my hoodie, little bit of in-hand work with my girl then sat in her stable with her while she had a doze, most of the swallows seem to have left but the pigeons are still roosting in the high rafters of the barn.
Took a bag of summer clothes into the CS and met my friend for a coffee, cake may have been involved as well.
Baked pasta for tea, lots of veg thrown in as winding down contents of fridge.
Watched and enjoyed the T20.

Good morning. Sunny again. So lucky!
P Kitten - sounds as if things are moving quickly. Sending more hugs. You can't have too many at a time like this x
S Sue - so glad the cruise was booked before this recent lot of worry. It's to the Med. Barcelona to Rome. I do love a cruise and am determined to leave all our worries in the UK. Sufficient unto the day .....
Highdays - I do so agree. The support from this group is amazing, and does really help in time of trouble.
Another NHS letter yesterday. This one from the surgeon. I told DH not to open it 😂. But it has helped us begin to make a decision. And isn't co- morbidities a horrible word! ( Don't get me wrong. I joke, but we are endlessly grateful to the NHS. Without them, DH wouldn't still be here)
So still sorting and organising here. Took three big bags to the charity shop and bought a Tracy Chevalier book. I use it as a paid for library and will take it back when read. Does anyone remember Boots lending libraries? Or have I dreamt it?
Happy 🌞 day everyone

Paulie, I hope you feel a lot improved very soon
Not a pleasure a bit of a rant, as part of today’s pre operation checks I had to have bloods, 10 times they tried, in between they asked me to drink a litre of water which I just about did, they gave up, and I’ve had to re-book in for tomorrow – annoyed and bruised. All I can think of doing to “help my veins” is staying warm, and I’m drinking more herbal teas than normal to hydrate.
1 I stress cleaned, the pleasure being clean windows and a clean cupboard by the end of it.
2 They phoned to say surgery is booked in for next Thursday, for the day, the doctors also phoned, I’m a little bemused by all the attention.
3 Remembered to drop into Mr T to use up vouchers on date only bought the amount needed on the voucher, the place was packed, their reductions section was packed with good stuff that will be great later but I won’t be joining the crowds.
4 I need to start cooking again for some batch frozen bits, that and it’s in the fridge just needs me to do it, but we had a 50 percent of takeaway to use up on tonight’s deadline, and it “passed the husband test”.
