(((Hugs))) PK x
For yesterday,
Clean sheets and a lie-in.
Stopped at roadside stall on the way to the yard for eggs, also picked up a big bag of tomatoes for 50p.
Stubble fields, cat nip for horse riders.
Baking afternoon, loaf of bread and a batch of tea cakes, enjoyed one warm with lots of butter & a cup of tea.
Exciting game of cricket in the hundred, Mr Butler was exceptional.5 -
Good morning. Sunny again. So glad the forecasters were wrong!
Topsy T - sounds as if the mini break and massage were much needed, and well deserved. It's been very tough for you lately, so it's good you could have a chance to relax.
P Kitten - oh heck, that's a lot to take on board. Will re-cross fingers and send more hugs x
Yesterday
Went to a neighbour's 90th birthday tea party yesterday. He's a very friendly, chatty man who lives on his own with minimum support. It started to rain and so was a bit of a squash in his house as everyone went inside, but it was good to be there and chat to other neighbours.
Got a video from DD. We had some rain for a few minutes. They had a full on hailstorm. Their garden looked as if it had been snowing! They live, ooh, at least two miles away!
Did the dreaded admin. I suppose I make it worse for myself by always wanting paper versions of tickets etc printed out. I just don't trust my phone not to let me down at a crucial moment!
Another quiet day today hopefully.
Happy Sunday everyone6 -
PK - sorry to hear your news but roll on Tuesday/Wednesday and progress from there.
Pleasures for yesterday (Saturday)
1) Park Run first thing so some nice chats and games of table tennis afterwards.
2) Did some Arabic.
3) Hoovered up dust in 100 directions from filling cracks in the walls.
4) Ampersand came round for a cup of tea !!!!!
5) Went out to the Common.

Hello! Well shift number four was done ( rather epically as it was soooo busy) and three more to go! Hurrah!Woke 5 minutes before my alarm this morning. Still dark. Boo hiss.Very quick doggy walk.Into work early. Glad my main colleague was back from her holiday.Home mid morning.DD2 friend popped into to see to doggy at lunchtime. He very kindly gave her a bag of sweets to say thank you…even wrote her a wee note!Sold another item on Vinted but it can wait till tomorrow to be posted. The jammies are on!Okay tips. In the jam jar.Was a bit cheeky and went for takeaway for tea…and asked for a half portion! With a seeing as it’s you! I won’t tell anyone else 😆
DD2 on her way home from being down south, so the chap and the pup are popping in to grab the clean laundry!PK just know that we are all here for you however things turn out. And know that it’s a safe space to come and say whatever. But even in uncertain times there are shiny and good things happening around you. Take care and rest when you can x8 -
Good afternoon/evening.
Rain again of course as it's the BH weekend but actually quite nice now.
PK - all sounds painful and stressful but best really that they get on with it so hopefully not too long to wait, you're doing great even if might not always feel like it x
A bit more of a positive day today so definite pleasures have been had:
1) Woke up this morning barely able to open my swollen eyes and with some pretty 'classic' infection symptoms so sadly had to cave in and ring 111. Waited over three hours for a call back from the out of hours doc (pity them on a BH weekend) but he was great, really listened and agreed antibiotics were urgently needed and prescribed over the phone, no need to be seen. Hubby picked up meds and started straight away, there is no way it was going away on its own. Still feeling spaced out and shivery but they will soon kick in.
2) Hubby was hobbling with his back this morning but fortunately it has eased off a bit as the day has gone on, not right but a lot better.
3) Oldest grandson has survived four nights in a tent at the pop festival - amazing as his default position is a king-sized bed and an en-suite bathroom! Anyway, he wanted to prove to himself he could do it and he has, but has asked to be picked up later tonight rather than tomorrow morning as planned!
4) Done very little today as feeling grotty but have at least made a cake in preparation for our holiday, and hubby has cleared some freezer space so it will be tucked out of temptation's way. Other stuff will have to wait, there's an order to collect from the shopping centre but will get that tomorrow when hopefully will be feeling a bit more like.
5) Missed the Northern Soul Prom which was meant to be fab, have tracked it down on catch up so early tea and maybe a gentle 'settee bop' if there is such a thing.
Hope you've enjoyed the day, have a good evening.9 -
Pleasures for today (Sunday)
1) Went back to sleep after providing an early lift home.
2) My friend came round for tea and to see the new house.
3) Filled cracks in the wall until I ran out of plaster.
4) Put plants and garlic in the garden.
5) Did some Arabic and a learning English video.
6) Got round to doing progress photos/video of the house. Laptop cable popped then sizzled the other day and (reasonably enough) no longer works so bought a new one online.
7) Had a game of badminton with smaller son.
8) Quiche and salad for tea then figs, yoghurt and maple syrup.7 -
Please know I am sending out lots of virtual hugs.
1 Woke up very early and was very wide awake, and if I am honest very panicky, but rather than let it take over I read for a bit and drifted back.
2 A surprising to me great book by Richard E. Grant.
3 Craving cake so I made a choccy loaf cake comfort food.
4 Skipped lunch so had all the Chinese leftovers heated up for tea.
5 Helped a struggling bumble, a few drops of sugar water and it was off.
