1. Looks like Herne Bay had a great treat last night:
https://www.facebook.com/100044788626070/posts/pfbid031SKkgjuB4PdYNxghEbpwkdwCjFjSofwhbcfZ836qdVvYv22KgVGJr9AgnHuiHVT3l
You know & will keep on recommending her Spookymen.❤️😀🫶
2. Escorted variously yesterday by a glorious maroon Rolls Royce, 1010TW and later, a barn owl.
3. Collected traybake tin from Jimmy's lovely S to drop back at Peacock HQ. Next stop Trumpy emporium and first trolley out contained very expensive Naturo catfood! Explained indoors, was told to keep it, so today it goes to M's 2 new kittens, Enzo and Roo.
4. Didn't expect to stay, but was asked to help someone who'd had big news. Did so gladly. All done and away by 23h. Away to Bishops Stortford for another pre-season match tonight.
5. Teasingly asked DoR 'What shall I wear to this one?' 'Oh, just more of your glorious ott colourfuls I think', with big smile and hug. Right, 'twill be done, including chignon visibility for Frith's perfect brocade/gold/velvet Peacock gift from last season.🤩🦚❤️🏉

Midweek Communion calls, then all-day busy. Had intended early Town of Horse beforehand, but wasn't in till 2 bells this morning.
Loved John Finnemore's Souvenir Programme yesterday, especially the 'Unaffected by becoming a lottery millionaire' skit, until shortbread was mentioned......😅😁😀🤣CAP[UK]for FREE EXPERT DEBT &BUDGET HELP:

Pleasures for I don't know how long... Not necessarily in chronological order.
1) Bigger son's girlfriend survived DKA, with 4 days in hospital.
2) The wallpaper has been removed (up to five layers), the walls scraped down and sanded... So far that is the living room, dining room, kitchen, hallway, stairs and landing. I can't describe the number of person hours that have gone into it.
3) Games of badminton on the lower lawn (!)
4) Watched my brother play in his tennis tournament. He lost in the final.
5) Watched the women's football final.
6) Watched our local football!
7) 3 or 4 trips to the skips.
8) Had the man round to measure for the new kitchen window. Had another man round to measure up for the new kitchen.
9) English lesson
10) Sold one of the 1960s kitchen cupboards on Ebay.
11) Did lots of Arabic, online and in real life.
12) Several trips to B and Q.
13) My friend's daughter got her university place. Today, her young passed his GCSEs.
14) My brother in law's birthday lunch.
15) Helpers with the wallpaper removal and sanding, who have also cooked.7 -
Hello.
Blimey, Frith, a lot going on and there was me thinking you were perhaps having a nice relaxing holiday! Good news about eldest son's girlfriend.
A lot cooler today, strange how the weather can change so quickly from one day to the next.
Some pleasures:
1) GCSE results day. Middle grandson took two, English Lit and Physics, a year early and passed both so that's two tucked under his belt already.Phew! Particularly good result in Eng Lit. Not looking forward to next year when we have both GCSEs and A Levels going on!
2) Got to the end of my thick library book, duly returned and two more new releases picked up.
3) Hubby's car failed its MOT - not a pleasure - but is booked in to be sorted next Thursday, the earliest they could do but at least it will be sorted and through its MOT before we go on holiday the next day.
4) A restless morning waiting to hear about 1) so got a lot done - washing, ironing, made a cake, booked a couple more mini-breaks for later in the year, did a bit of freezer sorting and a meal plan to use stuff up, shopping list for the holiday, Christmas planning and some reservations made, then a bit of aimless faffing til son put me out of my misery, after which I ground to a halt and spent the afternoon relaxing with a new mag and my new books.
5) WhatsApp chats with brothers and sister re our forthcoming holiday - places to go, meals booked, who is taking what and suchlike. Really looking forward to it but a bit concerned sister is still not at all well (she hasn't told me but eldest brother did as he had seen her yesterday). Hope she is ok to come away.
Hoping for a better night's sleep tonight, tossed and turned last night hoping the lad woudn't be disappointed today. In the event I could have done like he did and had a good sleep!
Goodnight all.

Frith, is this your new place?
Seriously hunting for pleasures today
1 Clean bedding for us tonight.
2 In Wales I bought a couple of pairs of trousers, £5 each, the pair I’m wearing today are dark tie-dye, feel comfortable and look good if I do say so. As they were such a bargain, I also got a red pair, but I just need to shorten them, and by that, I mean you’d have to be 7ft tall for them to fit anyone, but I’m happy to do it. I do wish I had picked up a couple more.
3 Today's food is a seafood cocktail for lunch, and build your own dinner of a chicken fillet, grain rice, salsa, home-grown salad leaves and cheese to build in a wrap and squash down.
4 The bright side to the weather is the garden doesn’t need watering, and not so bright I didn’t get the washing in ah well a post rinse..

Not posted for ages so here goes
1. dS2 seems to be working and there is new bone growth of just over 40mm. Consultant seems pleased with results
2 A better couple of weeks after ds2 dipped quite badly with his MH.
3. Had several problems diagnosed with new to me car that I bought in March, said it wasn’t covered under warranty, I raised a complaint and they have now said it will be covered so I should get a refund for the 1 but if essential work, but they won’t cover my travel costs to work, even though though my car was in garage for 10 days whist they were back and forth. It cost me £160 for travel due to shift times over 1 weekend.
4. Due to above and because I had been in contact with CA, and that I had no money left I was issued a food voucher which I used today, was given plenty of food and toiletries. I will pay it back in kind once I get back on my feet.
5. Good friends who have supported me over the last 8 months.8 -
Hey Frith good to ‘see’ you and yikes on son’s girlfriend.
👋🏻 Topsy
For yesterday,
Another warm, muggy day.
At the stables with my girlie, sold an unwanted piece of kit to a fellow owner and chatted with my friend, it’s a very sociable yard.
Pay day today so books balanced for the month, bit of a spendy one with family get-together and paying the balance on the cottage for our upcoming holiday but all nice things.
Lost all enthusiasm for any chores and read my book for most of the afternoon.
Only Connect and answered a good number of questions, sometimes they fall just right.5 -
TT good to see you back again.
Good morning. Another tale of battery running low on iPad last night so it’s now fully charged! For Thursday.Wet start but brightened into a beautiful day.Had a puppy till 2pm but he’s now away his little holidays so won’t see him till next week….he’s away to see his other granny!I didn’t have a washing but had said to DD2 to bring theirs up on way to collect pup. So that went out about 3pm and was almost dry when I brought it in…in just in the nick of time! Poured thereafter!Nice chat to sister on phone.
Sold something on Vinted for £2 …what a palaver! Usually it’s a digital label that’s sent. This customer sent a label that I had to print. I don’t have a printer anymore! So friend would print it off, had to go to other side of town ( but this end of town) to pick that Up, nice chat and thank you very much then had to go way to opposite end of town to Lidl to the lockers they were all full! So couldn’t drop it off. By this point I’ve almost spent a pound in petrol! Then on way back I’d to drop off a parcel for DD2 at this end of town but off the main route! So I stopped at supermarket on way home and bought a bar of chocolate so that was my remaining profit spent 😆😆 what a faff! And I still have a blooming parcel to drop off!Home ( I’d taken the dog with me ) and just got washing in and the rain started! Then it seems I’ve had an almost decent sleep and woke at 6.30am which is late for me ( I think having woken at 1am and checked that DD2 had arrived at their destination) . Catching up with niece this morning. Currently wet but hoping for dry as there’s another load of washing to be done! I’ll wait till I’m back from catch up.Have a lovely day 😊6 -
topsyturphy - you have been on a burgeration struggly path, haven't you? Glad for your no.5 and hope car, warranty battles, being Mum and money bleughhh stop targeting you and flip the other way.🙏👍
1. Last night's pre-season match v Bishops Stortford was a salutary reverse of last Saturday v North Walsham. 🦚🏉lost: 29-5. BS are 2 Leagues above us, which showed - and a yellow card did us no favours. Happy meetings with many.
2. Another Edam cheese moon last night.
3. 👹 strawberry slug deception. Ate 2, but big one, saved for last, collapsed, eaten through from the inside.Still more pink flowers coming!
4. Happy service yesterday morning, before heading to rugby.
5. Looking forward to ABs v 'boks in The Alma ce soir, last warm-up match before the World Cup.

Frith - ohthankheavens DKA can be a right swine to smooth back out but treble hurrahs at academic successes & friends helping with all that wallpaper!Highdays - hurrah your lad & hoping sis is well enough to comeon holiday even if she occupies a chaise longe & doesn't do her share of the wine justice.Purple kitten - aye we thought it was line drying weather until! Can you use spare trouser leg to add pockets?topsyturphy - wonderfuyl to 'see' you & alas son & MH dip but so glad good friends there.LaineyT - awed you ever have enthusiasm for chores.mhagster - I suppose the upside is something has gone, but really all the effort.ampersand - fiend slug sneakily eating the inside. All best with last warm-up match before the World Cup! I don't suppose Spooky do rugby cheer chants?OS Pleasures recentlyFamily tree climbing, we (distantly) have a vice president! In 1889…Took six little sage cuttings & tucked them in a propagation cell - damp, leafy, placed in warm & light. Now beset by doubt, but all being well, they’ll survive! This way the traditional home grown Christmas sage & onion stuffing has a better chance. May even have enough for part of a Christmas wreath, but the stuffing takes priority.Colleague to stay the night before they go on the razzle Saturday. Just Middleson (as host) working that night so guest to come and be fed watered accommodated, just we’re not to say a word to him. [Ah, “not go in & have a conversation”. Hm, OK.]Lovely Google doodle celebrating Indian lunar landing! (Generally hurrah Chandrayaan-3!)Youngest has Bolognese ready to go. Have I mentioned recently how I adore him & he is the delight of my eyes (& stomach)? We have a Pearsons pottery mug that looks innocent until you realise there is a frog in it. Carefully modelled, credibly glazed. I can’t tell how you put a slip coated frog into a mug & then glaze the mug so the frog stays green & the mug brown. I adore it, which bewilders the lads as my response to mugs in the wrong place has included screaming.Son set up Ahsoka - Star Wars spin-off. Lots of robots who have never heard of Asimov, some impressive bangs & graphics but a distinct setting-up episode.Colleague, struggling with too much expected, has been introduced to finding just 3 things to smile at, be they a backdated pay rise or a daisy still bright in the rain. As I raffled about a possible memory quilt of T shirts, I found myself singing a love song to Wales, snippets of memories that would take hours to tell in full & should be told by a bard as cawl is served generously and washed down with draught beer, so I wound them all into a wish she relax into the delights of Wales & let it shield her from the savage burdens of now. Hope she sleeps well. (I always did, lumpy mattress or not!) [She's sounding better this morning]Middleson has taken possession of Another inflatable kayak, twin to #3 & I am cheerfully suggesting names. Tippicanoe is a respected battle & Wikipedia holds the door wide open to possible pairings. Middleson somewhat peeved at me.Met the “the orange cup” post & bawled in recognition. It’s being that kind of week - parents beaming as their chicks’ results mean hopes can soar, but rooms will empty. Listening to plans to drive things around the country with very mixed feelings - yes, I felt the greatest rogue unhung driving the lad’s new bed to his flat. There are going to be unexpected days (or mornings) off as people adapt to a September without various people. That it is wholly right won’t stop it hurting.Health Strength Love & Courage to all as have need, be it in pint mugs, hugs, growing things &/or a bit too long on the line, ahem.7

A cooler morning and Mr Robin has started singing again in the garden, lovely to hear but autumn draws ever closer.
At the yard, watched my pal having a lesson and chatted to friends, it’s a year today since our old place gave us notice and what a blessing in disguise that was, pony is happier, I’m happier, even our bank account is happier! Win win doesn’t even come close.
Remembering that I had put a new bag of liquorice allsorts in the glove compartment of the mini a couple of weeks back, made the drive back home a lot sweeter.
Dog blankets and saddle cloths drying on the line.
Capt S finishing work for a long weekend so a celebratory beer in the garden, even if we did have jumpers on.
