Aww, lovely that you finally feel at home Highdays
For yesterday,
Muggy, warm kind of day so doors & windows open as much as possible to catch a breeze.
Into horsey town for a food shop, we are hosting a family get together on Sunday and I needed a few fresh bits, most other stuff has already been purchased and tucked away, either in the freezer or the cupboards.
Capt S came home for lunch and we caught up on each other’s day so far.
Drove across fens to market town where my lovely niece gave me a facial, she is moving premises soon and is in the excited / stressed stage of the move.
Home, was going to water veggies / pots etc and then checked the forecast and saw heavy rain overnight so held off. Picked a few salad leaves to go with pizza for tea. The nights are noticeably drawing in now but I am lighting candles as compensation.

Oh look, lionesses?
Could bee?
Sometimes I red things and if I dids putt me forts down I’d be band! Lighting candles was one of them more! I shall kept mum!For off that cover drive.
Wobble on the footie butt is notes that the Hatters go up a spot! How did that ‘appen?
Set up the box of blue sky to load the Sherlock Holmes and we shall start with the one about the hounds tonight!
has me usual snorkel fest this morning with the usual bits. Tee was mugged as well. As a bonus we had double buns tooday! Eclair and a strawberry donut from the German discount surplus store! Very tasty!
All is good.Jen sends her buzz!
I work from home so my cat can be fed on demand!7 -
Up early after a rubbish sleep.Skinny club first thing. A wee loss.
Sold another thing on Vinted so posted it off.Picked up a doggy and we down to visit DD2. Dogs had such good fun!
Went blackberry picking. In the freezer for a future crumble.
We had rolls & RTC sausage. It was nice to spend time together.
Home and a lazy afternoon.
Then got a wee burst of energy and hoovered and washed floors.8 -
For today,
Was meant to have a lie-in but wide awake at 6.30 so up, had a cup of tea and read my book. Breakfast was boiled egg and marmite soldiers.
At the yard, worked my girlie in the sunshine and she was so sweet & honest, some days it just clicks and feels like a blessing. We shared an apple.
Home, made a loaf then decided to clean the outside of the windows as they hadn’t been touched since the field was harvested and were a tad dusty.
Lunch then back outside to wash down garden furniture ahead of family get together tomorrow, half an ear on the radio and the football, we won again and are now top of the league, long way to go!
Moroccan chicken & couscous for tea, small dog now snoring in her basket and we will light the candles soon ha ha.

1) Saturday lie-in, cooked breakfast and long soak in the bath - bliss
2) pedicure - also bliss
3) curry's to look for a new fitted oven - can't believe i can't find one the same size as the old one - am going to have to think again!
4) garden centre to look at plants for when our back garden is finished - top soil arrived yesterday, looking good!
5) long walk with dd2 along the river front

Various, before shower and early morning prayer, which will be over by ⚽ round ball game, to which - amazingly - & will actually listen.😀
This is good and & passed Ipswich aller-retour yesterday:

1. Surprisingly, catch-up calls didn't come - & was volunteer driving again and helping someone else, so left msg. As they will catch up, Soddit! kicked in and off to North Walsham 🏉 went &🦚yesterday. What a gorgeous day!+afternoon!+evening!
2. As with Lainey, awake early yesterday to salute that overnight rainfall. Quickly &, 😋,🍓! So, current score: & 3 - slugs 2. More flowers coming.
3. Another 'as Lainey will know', with blutty race traffic and Exning closed off and useless diversions AND even M-O-R-E roadworks all the 86 miles away....took well over 2hours. But eventually there.👍🦚🏉
4. What a wonderful afternoon of rugby and friends!
Our 31-5 was good, of course, but this is an annual pre-season fixture, useful for both Clubs to sort and trial many senior squad players. North Walsham played so much better than their score. A fabulous atmosphere and welcome on a beautiful day.
5. &'s mascot🦚made its appearance for pics. More Soddit post-match and & was suddenly at Walcott and the sea. Had brought munch, as always, but Soddit! is &'s constant nowadays🤩, so f+c from a highly-rated seafront establishment, many pics, vids and hours later.....

Off to beloved Spookymen's Chorale at Dorchester Abbey tmrw, then Canon Frome Court next Saturday. Catch-up calls may be, but Soddit rules!😀👏👍
Ireland 29 - albion 10 was excellent news.
Blessings in every way to everyone today and onward.

Good morning. It is too. As was yesterday. Friday was cold and wet!! Ah well. Will cherish any summery days we get.
I've not posted much because nothing much has happened, but that's good news here!
Car had its service but as it has a maintenance contract, it's free. Not really, of course, but nice that it's covered. And it comes back clean and shiny too.
Keep finding more things for the charity bag. Revisiting the Kondo principle, and there's a heck of a lot that doesn't spark joy! In fact, lots has gone straight to the garage rag bag! Not fit for a charity shop!
Green bin filling up rapidly as garden is tidied. It's very lush after all the rain. DH has had three lovely, very big figs from the tree. About the size of comice pears. I don't like figs. Too pippy. So they're all his!
Family meal out this evening. We have a vegetarian, a gluten free, an egg allergy and a three year old ! We're hoping our posh Chinese can manage!
Happy 🌞 day everyone8 -
Morning!!!
Popping in very quickly as just off on our little Historic Houses trip. Lovely sunny morning, all packed up and ready for the off. Very much looking forward to a couple of relaxing days away just the two of us - for a change!
Back Monday night so will catch up with everyone's pleasures then.
Have a good Sunday.9 -
Dear heavens you have all been so busy you haven't had time to post!LaineyT - of course your wonderful girl had a good roll before visitors! Compost in the sale? Happy ponderings. Love "back in Quebec with Armand". So right to scan the forecast as line drying gives a special texture. You're hostess for the Whipsnade party? Will your guests be looking out of windows? perhaps not, but you do, fair enough!Highdays - hurrah everything show ready & I'd stay on the Armouries mailing list so you can catch the fun touring exhibitions (we've yomped past the elephant & howdah several times, but popped in specifically for the lord of the rings swords, for the Bond weapons etc) but you may well feel as I do about Bovington (by the third visit even an armoured personnel carrier was One Tank Too Many) Still it is only a couple of minutes away from Costco - keep it in mind for simple birthday fun? Family hols planning & the wine is already in hand - splendid! Staycation is a Holiday at home - well done you sticking to that! Paperwork nobbled for the foreseeable? Wonderful!mhagster - off to the castle (whee!) & then hefting grden furniture, ergle. So unfair Haggis gets weighed to keep the pounds on, you to keep them off. Congratulations on if you don't ask discount on rug & shared waaah at stain - hoping all better? Selling on Vinted?! Impressed. Blackberrying into the freezer, yum.PaulieHerts - your photos really are glorious. I can sit here & immerse my imagination in those blue skies & waters & delight those beach hits!ampersand - oh those gallops. Of course it has a good signal, the touts need to pass the intel back & a flutter of racing pigeons from a shrubbery would be a bit obvious. Almond croissants - well done you & emporium! Peacock traybakes & cakes & surplus to Jimmy's - wonderful. A day of Soddit (& why not?) and hurrah Spookymen to look forward to as well!SuffoilkSue - hurrah on the waiting list & hire your most robust grandchild to help you move as soon as you are released from hospital. Bramleys? Yum! Pies, jams, more?BoP - delighted British Snail funded Bristol wobbleades. Aye, will not see their like again. Tea mugged & with double buns!Purple kitten - oh crikey, but the medics are not messing about - there will be answers soon & I seriously hope they're the good (or at minimum better) ones.Happycas - hurrah getting topside of things! Cor "a vegetarian, a gluten free, an egg allergy and a three year old" - y'know I'm pretty sure the Chinese will cope. Have a smashing night!DundeeDoll - blimey academic nibbles leftovers have serious potential! Long soak & pedicure, lush!OS Pleasures recently (er this last week & a bit)Youngest strolled back from evening stroll with bag of cinnamon swirls - for some reason he didn’t feel he could eat the lot & coaxed me into a nibble, to ease his conscience, & expand his digestive capacity. Boychicks…I say, triple bonus points to mum’s gardener: got the lawn mowed & garden looking tidy just before the rain started! Hoping further family arrive in time to avoid getting drowned and still see garden looking carefully cherished. [Yep!]Hurrah our Lionesses, even if playing they appear to have a very unimaginative hairdresser. I’m sure as individuals they don’t look like they’ve been cloned, but in full kit…“What is green-washing?” Oh my, but at least I can make a passable stab at that without Google. Translating for mother is a new & interesting challenge. “Political nihilism” is eye watering. (She gets some very odd emails.)“What does he want?” “Space in the fridge.” Sometimes family communication is not quite all it could be… Especially when he has conjured a splendid lasagne that we will get to eat none of.It’s a bit of a drive home but lo Middleson & he has donated platelets again. Wonderful proud vicarious buzz!Realised had taken bags of clothing to donate on tour Again & asked Youngest to take them in to a local place (Ulp) but deny gift aid as he’s not yet a taxpayer. At last, that lot moved on. Shall wait another month or two before going on to hats & gloves.Youngest played some music at me & was irked when I called it charming. Turns out to be "Aphex Twin" & actually some is pleasing listening (Yeay Google & son leaving an accessible track running) so he was startled to find me speed read briefed on the artist & several minutes later still enjoying! I lead him to Lehrer & Eartha, he leads me to Aphex twin...BabySis (on holiday) visited Leominster & boggled at the ducking stool in the church. Best place to get the help needed after that kind of ick, I think. She was a tad peeved I was au fait with the tech & history…Middleson hit the local Aldi up by Loch Lomond and bought me a pack of heathers, now planted. Mum & sisters all clamouring for white heather but I’ve only one plant! Also a tuft (pinkish) that came away in his hand kayaking & six hazelnuts - so I’ve potted most of the tuft on, am trying a Forsythe pot for the rest of it & the nuts are damp sandy soil (in a ziploc) in the fridge (along from the white heather seeds)… So proud of him, thinking of his demanding womenfolk!Have, given the lack of clear plastic bags, ended up going down the Do Something Structural with clingfilm route. My only big clear bag is currently persuading bay cuttings to contemplate rooting… (Who’d have thought cheering on Scouts with spaghetti & rolled up newspaper would be so useful, gardening?!)Middleson has just realised getting a fibreglass 11’ canoe up our stairs would be fiendish tricky & “winching it out the window would be an ache”…. hurrah for the Young applying Logic first!Only Connect & me making a stupendous hash & loving every minute. Finally got bid for first aid training in - never mind if you get queasy at blood. First you have to survive trial by paperwork…Oh my! A gallumph of Scouts, all in beautiful vintage uniform and with an array of handsome knees has arrived! Gosh. Some pack somewhere probably has these fine chaps’ offspring as Leaders. I must try to find out who! (Possibly in time for this year’s Jamboree on the Internet & Airwaves?!)“No Trusts, I’m 22” - in matters relating to inheritance tax, what’s your age got to do with it?! I adore my lads but they are utter toddlers on some issues.Cabin pressure…. There are occasions where Carolyn is a beacon of serene calm as the offspring go Arthur on me. Mind you, they could go Douglas.Peering at a photo of an old family portrait the lady is wearing something flimsy in chiffon & a husky great glove - I think she’s been at the archery butts, just it’s a bit tricky to tell. Fun to speculate!Youngest promises me Huevos rancheros after tomorrow’s visit. I love my job but now plan to work from home after. The Lionesses will be in the final! Well played the Matildas, just the same.Middleson’s leap into the property ladder delayed by death of vendor. I think he ought to be the perfect buyer, but wholly see the family will take their eye off the house selling ball somewhat. Have coached him in sending condolences & reassured him he is still welcome in the family home even though he has such clear plans to leave! He’s off to Keswick, kayaking as I slave over a hot laptop & watch the rain fall.Really struggling to write award nominations despite colleagues being marvelous - if I didn’t cherish them maybe spinning fabulous tales would be easierWheeze with youngest - he opened with what is the most irritating characteristic? (Took me several minutes to figure Indecisiveness, he had “vocal fry” lined up…) Went onto ethics, ephemera & showbizz - what Has he been reading?Got to Friday yoga! Surprising how little floor space I got away with. [Awoke to aching arms but they eased off!]Thrashed at four nominations for work awards. M’boss, former judge, was clear none of the 4 would win but all would be touched to be nominated & anyway my written style is apparently distinctive & May tip the balance. Thank gods, deadline stopped play.Youngest discovered we had run out of tinned tomato & bravely endured gallumph around Costco as well as supermarkets. We now have a Costco sized tub of cumin so probably don’t need that on the list for a few months.Had survey payout in evouchers & had struggled - bring back Amazon vouchers! Ah well, garden treats incoming & house food paid for by evoucher. Hope it stays warm & I can persuade white heather to grow from seed…I look forward to the match but understand why there will not be royalty present. We weren’t arrogant enough to make plans & it is summer, they too are allowed time off (insofar as you can, with children!). Win or lose, the Lionesses will be greeted warmly at home, but family holidays are important too.Eyed the bundles of fat quarters & did the maths on bed curtains. If I were to go to all that faff, I’d need at least 80. A box bed is locally even more traditional and would use beautiful timber, no wrestling with a sewing machine foot there… I like playing with ideas. This blinking sniffle. Still, a dose of kitchen roll leaves me all the more appreciative of boilwashed fabric.Health Strength Love & Courage to all as have need, keep windows tight shut & play Mozart (or other tastes) loudly if wishing to avoid Lioness-based roaring (even Youngest is resigned to it occupying all news for next day & says a change from That Nurse is welcome) & may the local weather cooperate with your plans.8

Hello! It’s my wedding anniversary today so always a bit bittersweet now.Work was worked . Shift 6…5 to go!Up early and a very quick doggy walk. Just until what was needed doing was done! Was a lovely star filled sky first thing.Home mid morning. Hello doggy and I have my weetabix then 😆
Crazy shift, so busy. Glad it’s done. Tips okay.Dropped off stuff at work colleague so quick chat with her.Big chat to DD2 on phone. She was up earlier with puppy and my new rug has been pooked…grrr! She knows nothing about it!Not sure what I’ll have for tea. I do have leftover chilli so will probably reheat that and I’ve a half pack of couscous so may have it with that as I’ve no rice left. Need to eat something though as all I’ve had was my breakfast 9 hours ago!Five to go…I can do it!And a wee add on of a lovely chatter with a friend on the phone.
And DD2 popped up to see me ( minus a puppy) with a beautiful bouquet of flowers 💐10
