5 OS pleasures in your day today - part 3

Hello again.
Been hot again today in our neck of the woods but now clouded over and cooler, think we may be forecast some rain.
Purple_kitten - everything crosed for a good result for you, at least they've got on to it very quickly. Easy to say, I know, but stay positive, don't run towards trouble but take good care of yourself. We will all be gunning for you.
Today's pleasures:
1) A restless night so a bit of a lie in, it is a real pleasure for a non-morning person to be able to wake up naturally
and not with an alarm clock. Also ditched the wristwatch when I retired and don't miss that either.
2) Hubby out this morning set-building so a bit of faffing and a bit of this and that. Did get all the linen napkins ironed and the bedding too before a walk with my bairn - the tough way today but wasn't as tough as expected.
3) Took back stuff we didn't use to the stone place and finally sorted out the invoices/credit notes and a nice, healthy balance back on my c/card.
4) Sat in the sun when we got back and finished off the remaining ice cream, used our Italian ice cream dishes and spoons and made-believe we were sat in a square in Sorrento. Happy days!
5) Remaining leftovers for a very easy tea tonight. Tomorrow will be something out of the freezer, I am stubbornly sticking to my staycation plan and am on holiday til Monday. I have given myself permission just to do exactly what I want to do for the rest of this week, very liberating!
Hope you've had as good a day as you could and maybe seen a bit of sunshine along the way. Have a good evening.9 -
Sending ((hugs)) PK sounds like whatever it is it’s being dealt with quickly x
For today,
Forecasted to be warm in the afternoon so I made a loaf first plus got some washing on the line before heading off to the stables.
Girlie was in a funny mood, seasonal by my reckoning and the calendar, so just some gentle grooming and cosseting today then sat in her stable with her while she had a doze.
Home and yes it had got warm so sundress on.
Cleaned the bathrooms and wiped down the windowsills as we’d had an invasion of thunder flies.
Now watching the Hundred and contemplating an ice-cream ☺️8 -
PK just a big hug being sent. Hopefully you find out one way or t’other soon and you’re being prioritised x
Woke early then dozed off again…after my shower and washed hair! Cue…big wavy hair all day!Hung out a washing then drove to other side of town ( with several crazy drivers just pulling out in front of me …eh hello! ) went to Dunelm ( I honestly don’t like there or the range type of shop) to buy a rug. It had a wee teeny mark on it from where it had been hung up ( the display model was the only one in stock) so don’t ask/ don’t get…asked and got 10% off. Managed to wedge it into my tiny car! Then went along to TKMax which I do like 😆 and me…I don’t need anything for autumn…also me…oooh they’re pretty! And may have bought some teal blue pumpkins. And some pretty candles. Just because. And because I’m currently being paid and such fripperies won’t be doable in a few weeks!Home. Hello doggy. See I wasn’t that long.Out in the garden. Then the niecelys arrived and I was to watch a boy child. Who honestly never sits down. Goes from one thing to the next. He had a shower after tea and I came downstairs afterwards to find a big stain on my new rug. The water from shower must have somehow seeped down through the light fitting in lounge! Waaah! Was ever so glad when he was collected! As always lovely to see but lovely to say goodbye to!8 -
Good evening
S Sue - thank goodness things are moving forward at last. Six months still sounds a long time to me for an urgent case, but maybe you'll hear something sooner.
P Kitten - It's the waiting for results that is so difficult to cope with. But at least it's all in hand now, with things being treated as if they're important so that's good.
I'll be thinking of you both, with fingers crossed for a positive outcome.
Paulie - I hope your friend gets a beach hut cos then we'll get lots of lovely photos!
Been a lovely sunny day here, and I'm gradually catching up with housework, admin, mending, gardening and cooking. I feel as if I'm getting top side of things for the first time in ages
Happy summery evening everyone

Thanks ,yes six months does feel an age ,but he took time to explain why the private hospital is not a good idea
hopefully sooner.
PK another keeping everything crossed for a rapid ,positive outcome ,it’s the waiting that’s the hardest .
A good lunch with DGD and DGS1 ,they wanted to go to Wagamama ,it’s ok but I really can’t see the attraction ,
you sit on a bench next to a stranger, all the food comes out at different times and it costs a fortune !
Been given a load of windfall Bramleys ,so that’s my job tomorrow
hope everyone has a peaceful night7 -
Dear PK, as you're seeing, everyone is caring for you as you await those results, & included. We have met, too - please accept heartfelt 🙏from &.💓 to you both, and your beloved 4-foots.
1. Only 11 at midweek Communion yesterday, with summer hols peeps away. But it felt very special and is &'s weekly anchor. A magpie feather on the grass went in hair😃. &'s Aotearoa province of Hawkes Bay has Hawkeye the magpie as mascot. Significance recognised by several kiwis last night as & dished out their munch.
2. Various backtracking faffing for neighbour used time and diesel, up another 8p per litre, but done and & is grateful for physical and vehicular mobility, plus being compos mentis, with a busy life.
3. A great night's training last night, pasta traybakes for all dietary requirements, then M's birthday celebrated with 4 definitely not training-compliant cakes.😋 A lovely evening again, late wine and chat as Club direction and décor is revamped, long overdue. First pre-season match tomorrow, away at North Walsham. Also Ireland v England clash, but it'll work somehow, and remind me.....is there something round ball-ish on Sunday?
4. Took surplus traybake to Jimmy's Night Shelter around midnight. All still welcoming and good there.👍
5. Reflecting on much at present. Important calls missed yesterday, but will catch up today.

Goodness just a few posts to catch up since I last called by! Work manic. Let's think of mse things from the week
1) Sunday friend came to stay as he had a dentist appointment Monday - he took me out to dinner then we went to mennies and the 100 was on
2) Monday he called in at work (he used to work here) then we went off to St Andrews - hard to believe now but the weather was glorious - i went paddling then we had very nice burgers in a studenty place i'd not been to before
3) Tuesday went to a great Uni event which was followed with some rather nice nibbles - there was plenty left over - cakes they kept but the lo feta / cherry tomato / cucumber / black olive on cocktail sticks went in my empty lunch tupperware
4) Wed early lunch and watched 2nd half of the lioness' game with ops manager - very exciting
5) hairdresser this morning - walked across the park and met Mr G walking his dog - they're off on holibags

Hello, back again.
Grey and dirgy sort of day, rain on and off, not sure why the window cleaner bothered really.
Today's pleasures:
1) A day at home, just out for a (wet) walk and talk with my bairn late morning. Love that boy to his very bones.
2) Have booked a mini-break for just me and hubby on Sunday/Monday. To two places I have wanted to go for ages and both are included in our Historic Houses membership (the £80 saved just about covers the year's membership fee) so just an overnight stay and dinner to pay for. Quite a while since we went away just us two so looking forward to it very much. Forgot hubby's MOT was booked in for Monday - oops - but now recheduled for Wednesday, no worries.
3) Jousting tournament booked at little fella's favourite castle for the Bank Holiday weekend with a 'Meet the Knights' thing afterwards. Looking forwrd to seeing his little face when we tell him.
4) Spent the entire afternoon sorting paperwork, lists, bills, filing, etc. Good use of a grey afternoon, all completely up to date and feeling very organised and virtuous. Truth be told I actually quite enjoyed it once I made a start and now feel I've got a grip on things right to the end of the year. We have a lot going on - all fun but still has to be sorted and planned. Only downside was totting up the entire spend to date on building works - ouch, but all worth it when you look at what we have achieved. We will have been here four years in October, Covid and life have happened along the way but seeing the vision we had for this place slowly becomig a reality has been so rewarding. This is the first place in my adult life that has really felt like home and we are steadily making our mark on it. Very proud of all of us for working so hard and living without complaining in sometimes not very comfortable circumstances - a roof is a very nice thing to have after the wettest of summers without one!
5) Dismal sort of evening and very dark by nine so enjoyed an evening of catch-up telly with tea on our knees. Nice and cosy, foretaste of snuggly evenings to come.
Right, off to bed and an hour's read of my book.
Hope you have a good weekend.
