For yesterday,
Busy morning, took down back door curtain to be washed, wiped down the door and all surrounding woodwork. Hoover, hoover and dust downstairs. Replaced front door wreath and wiped that door down too.
Phew, sat down with a cuppa and a book for 30 mins.
Lunch then over to the stables, vet visit to reassure that nothing untoward re bad bites on girlie, all ok and complimented on care but suggestion made for barrier application and will ask if she can move fields as nearby water isn’t helping.
Bees, butterflies and dragonflies in the garden.
Caught up with Only Connect and then a few games of Yahtzee.7 -

Pleasures for today, so far (Wednesday)
1) A good sleep.
2) Porridge for breakfast.
3) Much hacking back of brambles etc in the back garden and some weeding in the front.
4) The washing is out - for now...
5) The cat that no one owns came round to be brushed and to have some chicken.
6) In M and S to use their internet, do some Arabic and send my friend the English sentence of the day.
7) Smaller son suggested yesterday that we play badminton on the lawn so I'm off to get some shuttlecocks just now.
And 2 extra for yesterday:
1) Lots of gardening and wallpaper stripping.
2) Got a t shirt and candle holder/vase from the charity shops.7 -
Hello again.
No rain again today, might have to water the new grass soon if this carries on!
Today's pleasures:
1) Another busy day of scrubbing corners and re-painting chipped paint, we must live in a very scruffy house normally. The pleasure is that, after the visitors on Monday, there will be no housework to do for the rest of the week and I will live in a clean and organised home - for a while anyway!
2) Every cupboard and drawer in the house is cleaned and sorted. I am shattered! The not-such-a-pleasure is that a lot of stuff is in five big boxes hidden in the workshop - oh dear!
3) Quick trip to the supermarket turned into a nightmare as they are in the middle of a big rearranging so nothing is where it used to be and even the staff don't know where things are. The only pleasure is it's done and we eventually made it home with everything we needed.
4) Picked up a nice, chunky, in-between seasons ribby cardigan in just the colour I wanted at a very silly price.
5) Son and I did an extended walk today, mainly - it felt - uphill and we kept up a very brisk speed. Definitely getting fitter but I was very, very hot and puffed out when we got home but it felt good to stretch ourselves.
Right, little fella has just come in and haven't seen him for a few days so off for a natter and hopefully a cuddle.
Have a good evening.8 -
Hello. I have an overnight guest! Great niece is staying for first time in ages.Up early this morning. Just in time to see the most beautiful sunrise.
Waited. And waited. And sent a text. Thought stuff this and went out and came back and then got a text to say be there in half an hour. Two hours later I sent a text. Work should be over tomorrow. Fingers crossed 🤞
Anyway doggy and I went up to local castle. Had a nice wander. Pleasantly mild I think you’d describe it as. Needed a jumper on. Just the tingeiest tinge that seasons are moving on.Then home. Oh hello workman chap. No point antagonising him…I’ve other stuff I want done!Took excess stuff back to B&Q, got refund…then I’ll just go and have a look at plants 😆…respent refund! But they were all half price.Home ( the long way due to road closures) with a doggy as I’d taken him with me.
Then it was time to go and get the girl. Took doggy and we stopped at beach on the way back for a very quick walk. Then it was time to walk up to doggy daycare and pick up the pup. GN was delighted to get to walk him.
Then DD2 came up after work and we went out for tea to a dog friendly place. And had a very lovely tea. Then home to my doggy.Bed!7 -
These Monday osps wouldn't post yesterday-
'Good morning all, from a very unusual for &, lazy start bed - much R4X listening on a Tuesday, with classic Goons right now.1. Good CUBG time again, using ParkandRide. Early duck and coot feeding - lightens bag😀 - then to the human evolution+cultivation beds. Spotted this Big Green fella.2. ....and this one, as leaving &squat. Very late, but &'s 1st this year, also well-hidden. Spotted 2 strawbs too, ate those. All saved from slugs in nick of time. Strawbs still flowering. Raspberries ditto, 2nd time in 2 months now.3. Further round CUBG, munch, Thermos and book by fountain. More pics for others done:-). 'You should charge!' said one jolly couple:-) 😃
4. Big moon still, with Men's 100 listening, closing innings from up on the Gog Magogs. Was probably a 100s nay-sayer initially, but really enjoy it now.5. Current reading, 'Miss Mole', by E.H. Young, previously unknown to &.https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/E._H._Young
What an interesting life indeed! Her writing is meticulous, observant, sometimes spiky, wise and acute. Happily taking time with this one.

Now, from up on The Gallops, for yesterday and today -
1. Excellent fishy rtc's from emporium. Taken to share elsewhere.
2. Sweet Pea III at last blooming! Nothing like Mhags' wonderful masses, but scent from even these 2 is delicious.
3. Last night's ludicrous torrents before and during training - oh, 'File Format not allowed' again. Anyone in The Fens knows how it was for nearly an hour. Crazy night's rugby weather was sortakinda enjoyed by all, as was post-training munch.
4. 1st drink taken for tomorrow. Here & still am 😇.
5. Good msgs from Spain, but 41⁰ expected there tomorrow, when friends have a tricky on-site reupholstery job to do.

More great reading, Frith - and busy, busy! New feline visitor sounds very chez soi. 🐈

For yesterday,
Door curtain washed and on line by 9am with small prayer to goddess that the warm, sunny forecast would hold. Chilly start though and yes Mhags a sniff of next season on its way.
With pony, groomed and then solution made up & carefully applied with small sponge, took some time with large horse but wanted to ensure that every bit covered to repel pesky midges. Lovely yard owner showed me our new field, smashing one ( to be fair they are all good ) with several pals on same routine as us, yay for being on such a great yard.
Afternoon errands picking up small dog’s food and a visit to village nursery for a few bits including canes for toms which are still growing albeit slowly and with a fair wind we will get some fruit in October ☺️Picked carrots and beetroot. Sewed kale, broccoli and next lot of salad leaves after moving small plugs to salad planter. Looked up and there was Capt S home from work at 5.30, am convinced both the stable and garden have their own time zones!
Tea was a throw everything in nacho dish followed by ice-cream, appetite is back.5 -
More pleasures for yesterday (Wednesday)
8) Went to a kitchen showroom for a chat. My scruffy drawings and measurements put in their computer, kitchen designed and deposit paid!
9) Took well over an hour to cut the lawn. Too long for the little Flymo really.
10) Played badminton with smaller son.
Today, so far.
1) Good to get up after a poor sleep. Smaller son and I were wandering around at 1.30, wondering where the weird clunking noises were coming from. No idea, but a police car had been parked outside for 2 hours this morning.
2) Picked blackberries in the garden.
3) Went to window place and ordered a new kitchen window.
4) In M and S to use their internet and do some Arabic.
5) Going for a walk along an exposed ridgeway just now with some guys. It's so hot I might die.7 -
Hello. Bedtime. And I’m so glad to have a nice quiet house with just me and my doggy.Up early. GN wasn’t! She didn’t wake until midday when I thought I really need you to get up as we have stuff to do…wheres the puppy? Er been and gone! ( puppy part one)
Builder chap to come at 9am…do you mind if I come this afternoon? Sighed ( actually growled) well I’m going out this afternoon. So he came to pick up a key.Puppy visit part one. Couple of hours this morning. He’s really no bother after the initial runaround. They both calm down.GN & I went into town and I went into shops I don’t normally! Then we went to McD’s…again where I don’t normally. In the school holidays too! Waaah!Home and builder chaps still there and he ran out of something and picked up the wrong shade by accident and just used it as he thought I wouldn’t mind. I did mind so he’s got to come back tomorrow ( sigh!) to sort it. Anyway asides from that it all looks rather splendid. I just want my home back to how I like it!Then niece came and picked up GN who has been a pleasure to have and no bother at all. I’ll have her again for a couple of hours on Saturday morning. Then Puppy part two. Back again for a couple of hours, usual mad runaround then they settled down. Then his parents came to pick him up and I actually chased them all away! I’ve not had a day off just me and my dog all week and won’t again tomorrow. I just need builder chaps to be totally finished, get everything back where it goes, hoover properly and get floors washed. The last hour has been peaceful at least 😀7 -
Good morning. Sunny too!
Taking advantage of a gap between medical appointments and some decent weather to come to the caravan.
It is good to be back. We've enjoyed gentle strolls and restorative sea air. However, a big decision had to be made. I'm going to the site office to ask about selling the caravan. It's sad but we just don't get here often enough to justify the annual ground rent. And ours is one of the cheapest sites on this coast. At a Haven site near ours, rents vary from 5k to 10k pa. Can you imagine! And then there's insurance, gas checks, wifi......
But meanwhile, we're still here. Meeting friends for lunch in a lovely cafe with a sea view and have booked our favourite restaurant for tomorrow evening. Making hay while the sun shines.
And it does at the moment
So happy🌞day everyone
