Morning all
Pleasures for friday
1. Nice bike ride along the Mawddach trail. Used to be an annual family and friends bike ride but now we rarely do it. Was harder than remembered, not sure if that's age, out of practice or the wind
2. rewarded with tea and cake in a favourite tea shop
3. washing mostly dried on the line
4. nice sea bass for tea
5. then rode to the pub
and yesterday - woke up with an undeserved hangover and general bleurghh. But let's see
1. managed to power through some marking
2. was going to go swimming, but general yukness and inability to find my swimsuit meant i couldn't so had a bath
3. i'm not a fan of Heinz tomato soup, but yesterday it was just what the doctor ordered
4. My boy went to Valencia (for the day - he's already on his way back!) to watch the villa. Looks like he had a great time
5. my bed.
Have a great day all.I wanna be in the room where it happens8 -
Morning, it’s slightly sunny 🌞 this morning after all the wind and rain 🤞
Hope you’re feeling better Lainey.
Recent pleasures:
lunch out with Bestie and other friend on Wednesday. Nice pub, ok food, torrential rain on 40 minutes drive home so took an hour!
Swimming, haircut, dinner out and Mary Black concert on Thursday. All good except I got water in my ears (at hairdressers not swimming where I wear earplugs!). This gives me a headache, earache and deafness! Just wearing off now!
Missed out on family meal on Friday because of above. Have had a lazy 2 days because of above so must get back on it today. I made a chicken casserole in the ninja and it has done 2 meals each and I’ve whizzed quite a bit into soup, so easy food whilst feel bleurgh.
Unbeaten so far at scrabble on line.
Have a great Sunday 😊9 -
Good morning. It's sunny! Up silly early so washing on the line by 6 am.
Lainey - that sounds dreadful. I do hope you feel better soon.
VJ's mum - I know what you mean, but I do like him more than I dont!
Thank you for all your kind wishes. We had a lovely day, just enjoying each other's company. And last night we had a Chinese from Sainsbury 's. Not very MSE but 50 years doesn't come round very often.
We amused ourselves yesterday cutting up 12 m of net curtaining into individual lengths for the caravan. I don't even like net curtains! But when I washed the original lot this year they disintegrated and without, it feels as if we're in a goldfish bowl so needs must...
Spare ribs for tea. A favourite here.
Happy Sunday everyone

Thank you lovely peeps and hope you feel better soon PH
For yesterday,
Waking up and not feeling sick! Not sure if it was a bug ( but Capt S is fine ) or food poisoning ( we had a W8rose Paella for tea that night) and I had a dodgy prawn but either way don’t ever want to feel that rough again and it will be a looooong time before I have anything with seafood & rice again!
My beloved kindly drove me over to see Princess Pony, I knew that she would be well looked after by the yard but oh how I missed her. Much cuddles and a groom.
We had spoken about going to the first footie match of the season but for obvious reasons that no longer appealed so listened on the radio and we beat our Varsity rivals 2 nil.
Lots of reading, am thoroughly enjoying the latest Strike book.
Bit of soup and a couple of crackers for tea.8 -
Using M and S's internet, so here are my pleasures for yesterday (Saturday)
1) Not a bad sleep.
2) Went to Ludlow (quite a drive now I've moved!) to get light fittings from the Period House Shop for my charity shop 1960s glass lampshades.
3) Put the lampshades up!
4) An exciting afternoon as we had been given 2 football tickets (well, the charity had, not me personally) so I took 2 guys and smaller son to watch our team. It's not exactly Manchester United but they seemed to get into it! There was a moment when they asked me to translate some of the chants... I said I would do that later so hopefully they've forgotten. (They're not awful, just full of swear words).
5) Watched Casualty.
6) Phoned my school friend.
Excuse the wallpaper stripped walls.

Pleasures for today (Sunday) while I have internet access!
1) Almost a lie in.
2) Collapsed all the cardboard boxes. Cleared most of the garage.
3) 2 trips to the skips.
4) B and Q and now having a cup of tea in M and S.
5) Hopefully gardening later.
6) After the 2 day cooker cleaning extravaganza, I can cook a proper dinner later.9 -
Wow Frith! You were on a roll there! 😀
Mix of wotnottery follows, will likely be the more of same non-pattern from now on.

1. Transfiguration Sunday. There's irony. But all went well and 50+ was a big turnout for fenny area.
2. Distant sounds from so-called Country Show and much bogging around in mud to return to own country roads. Pothole and Roadwork avoidance amounts to ever-changing dual Olympic obstacle course, especially this weekend. For mud, turn right and start slithering for nearly a mile.
3. Along to mucky bit of little river, fed left-over biccies to geese and ducks. Geese most ardent, but & was firm. Then remembered rest of emporium rtc pearl barley, extracted it and laid trails. Everyone super happy.
4. Gorgeous 🏉 time in The Alma yesterday arvo. ABs had squeaked through earlier, 23-20 v Wobblies, so & was at ease. Mix of friends in, many Shelford, also at ease and surprised when & didn't start coshing them for raffle money. 😀
5. Have not long managed, at last, to speak with oldest Northern hemisphere friend, down in Collobrières. We'll speak again this evening. Many changes for us both.

Like your friends & ☺️For yesterday,
Coming into the kitchen first thing and our resident raptor, the Sparrow Hawk was sitting on the garden gate, by the time I went to get my phone to take a picture he had gone.
Drove over to see pony, lots of cleaning up nasty bites ( thank goodness for Hibiscrub ) and applying of cream, we have vet coming out Tuesday just to check there isn’t anything nastier at the bottom of this skin problem and I’m really hoping that it doesn’t scar ☹️Home and felt pretty wiped out so sat down for a few minutes and woke up an hour later!
No lovely food to speak of as zero appetite but thank goodness for HM meals in freezer which have at least meant Capt S is eating ok.
Early night and the contented snuffles of small dog as she settles down next to me in her basket, for almost 12 years of her life she’s slept downstairs but for the last couple of months has decided she wants to be upstairs with us and I love having us all together.7 -
Belated Happy Anniversary wishes HappyCas 🎉
Hope you're feeling better lainey
lovely piccies ampers
fabulous work so far frith all very exciting
For the weekend which went far too quickly
1) dd2 and bf home from their lovely week with dd1, ds, their 4 paternal cousins, 5 partners (ds's partner sadly had to work) and a dog - a wonderful time for all
2) Murrayfield for the France friendly - DD2's bf also going so we gave him a lift to his mum's where he was stopping overnight - she lives near the zoo and very kindly invited us for lunch - we were also able to park outside her house. Match fabulous (my early birthday treat from gbf - i hit 60 'the new 40) later this month) and the weather stayed dry (J13 fabulous view of the end that got all the action both halves)
3) church - first time for 3 weeks, lovely to catch up with everyone
4) then Leicester game with Dr M - Leicester won. Home for a late lunch then
5) back for the Sunderland game with Dr M and Mr G (who refused to watch Leicester 🤣) then Mr G left and a lovely couple, friends of Dr M, arrived and we had a really nice evening. though rather later than Dr M or I planned. and now of course the working week starts. The weather is at least improved.

Using Sainsbury's internet so pleasures for today! (Monday)
1) Not a bad sleep.
2) BT have confirmed they really are coming to fit broadband on Saturday. We gave up with Virgin Media.
3) Met my sister and niece in Costa.
4) About to collect my friend to do more house type jobs.
5) The 63 year old electricity in my house is dying. No cooker yesterday afternoon then no shower and now no working sockets in the garage and extension. A man is coming on Thursday to fit a new consumer unit. My brother replaced some light fittings yesterday as they had gone so brittle with age.
