Happy anniversary happycas - a former poster on these threads (Chickenopolis, i still miss her posts 😥), when i said how long i'd been married, said "that's a long time to like someone". To which i responded "I don't always like him..." 🤣. So well done, it's a massive achievement. If we make it to our golden, we'll be pretty bloody old so fingers crosssed.

Pleasures for today (Friday)
1) Not a bad sleep.
2) Finished cleaning the oven! In total, 3-4 hours of scrubbing plus 12 hours of steeping in a bag of chemicals overnight. It was an appalling job. Really, I need to get another bottle of cleaner and do it again as there are still patches of burned on food. I had to take the doors apart to clean them today as grease had managed to run down between the 2 pieces of glass... Anyway, it is now clean enough that I would use the cooker, rather than just the hob.
3) Bigger son appeared so we took some stuff to the charity shop.
4) Bumped into 2 guys so had a cup of tea with them. One volunteered in the same field that bigger son works in.
5) My mum, dad, brother and second mum and dad came round this afternoon, to look at the house and to say happy birthday to smaller son. We had cups of tea in the garden. Some nice fox poo out there!
6) My brother swapped the 1980s strange multi armed light fitting for a normal one, in the lounge.
7) Had a Chinese for tea.
8) Smaller son and I are going to have tea and cake in the garden later.8 -
Congratulations @Happycas.6

Good morning! Had a late one by my standards 😆😆last night!Friday pleasures
Up early ( and up even earlier with a blooming doggy needing out at 1.30am…made a point of looking for the moon and at the stars! )Stripped wallpaper off my living room wall. It was quite a satisfying thing as it all came off very easily with the nicest of riiiiiiip kind of noise!Out to get eyebrows waxed. Ouch. But much better!Chaps arrived…thought I, ready to start work…no we’ll just drop off and come on Monday! Grrrr! So I’d changed my plans to accommodate them coming and then they weren’t staying. So just kind of pottered around as didn’t have that much time before The Chap was dropping off the pup.Famous last words of oh the dogs better…🤮 sick in the garden ( so at least it wasn’t a rug) me with a noooooo! Anyway he had chicken and rice for tea and we are back on the little and often and will see how that goes and whether a vet appointment is necessary at start of week.Had a delivery of flowers which was nice. Lordy as two dogs were barking at the delivery man!DD2 had finished work an hour or so earlier so she picked up her boy ( as well as picking me up chicken) a bit earlier which was nice too! He’s such a lovely wee pup and we all had a snoozette 😆 before she came.Out to cinema with friend. I walked round to hers and walked back. A bit of a shock ( as I always think it is when you come out a dark cinema after a couple of hours at either how bright/dark it actually is) at how the nights are ‘drawing in’ ( sound like in 93)Home. Hello doggy. It’s bedtime.Yesterday was our second dry day in a row! It’s been nice! Got two sets of downstairs curtains washed and dried. But it’s been raining and rain forecast for this afternoon…garden probably needs it after two dry days!Have a lovely day 😊10 -
Sending belated Happy Anniversary wishes HappyCas 🎉
Not so many pleasures for the last couple of days as have had a nasty tummy bug which laid me low, sips of water only and couldn’t even manage a nibble on ginger nut, urgh!
Tad better this morning and trying lemon tea, fingers crossed!8 -
Good morning.
Won't mention the fact that it's grey and raining again.......
Lainey - sorry to hear you're not well, hopefully now on the mend.
Recent pleasures:
1) In spite of the inclement weather hubby is valiantly getting on with the big garden tidy up, off to the garden centre later this morning and, because it's another wet day (oops, said I wouldn't mention that!) I think lunch out may be on the cards.
2) Managed to get in to see the Dr yesterday, he thinks it is something completely different to what I have been treated for so three lots of cream/gel to apply. Really pleased they are going much more down the 'natural' route and even more pleased that the oat cream has already started to have an effect. He is also arranging a video appointment with the specialist.
3) Had to go to the big shopping centre as the meds were not available at our local pharmacy so did bits and bats of shopping while we were there which puts off the 'big shop' til next week.
4) New bifold doors are arriving Monday, great news as we have been living with a big hole covered up with wood for weeks and weeks!
5) A nice weekend at home on the cards after a couple of busy ones and away last weekend. Lots to do but lots of time to do it in so will see how the day pans out, may potter in the house this afternoon or may retire gracefully to my summerhouse (best birthday pressie ever!) for painting, reading and a snooze. Hmm, decision made then!
Hope you have a good weekend and that the poorly people and pets get better soon.10 -
Hello.Had a nice day.Skinny club first thing. Then home for breakfast and then out a big walk with DD2 and the pup.
Back to mine. DD2 went for a lie down upstairs and I was on a dog duty. The niecelys came and we all had a ( bit hectic) lovely afternoon. Took great nephew to the play park. Outside in the garden it was dry. All inside when it was wet! Then big sigh from doggy and I when they all went away at the same time! Lovely to see you but lovely to see you go!Made mince for tea with lots of veggies.
Nice chat to friend on phone.Currently pouring!9
