I live near Disneyland. When I was younger we had some Junes like this one with the morning gloom. My sister and I would go to Disneyland in the morning (it was free for us to get in because my father worked there during the summer). The tourists wouldn't come until the clouds burned away about 2 in the afternoon. So the locals enjoyed the mornings. Now it is too expensive for the locals to go. Some of the children living on this block have never been. Unless they get a job there, many local children will never see the inside of the park. Disneyland has lost its community support because of this.7

1 A day of needles, an anaemia injection in and bloods taken out, I must be honest I am hoping and praying it does show up something that answers things.
2 Popped to Ald1 picked up vitals, but I’m bemused to see the prices are still going up and so noticeable on what were cheaper items. Picked up a pair of their croc equivalents as the fox decided to have fun with mine in the garden and he kindly left me one???
3 Amazing thunderstorms but hung the washing inside this time, nature watered the garden and took 4 rose heads with it…
4 HM curry with rice is dinner and smells lovely.
5 Left the bedroom with curtains closed today in a hope to deflect the heat via the curtains, we do have an air con unit, but I don’t like the noise during the night.
6 Starting to research Vinted as I have a few decent quality dresses to sell on.

aw that's a shame @weenancyinAmerica supporting community is so important.
glad you got out of work mhags - been such a glorious day
1) a strange pleasure - i had to have my rowan taken down but glad to say they were quick and efficient and actually the corner of the garden doesn't look as bare as i feared
2) the bird cafe has been moved to hanging from the acer in the front - we'll see how it goes - the front hedge is alive with sparros or spuggies as DrM called them
3) managed to work at home the whole morning so also spent some time in the garden - reminded me of lockdown 1
4) then a lovely walk into work and a lovely walk home via the park - the Tay looks sooooo beautiful
5) a very nice supper (if you like kidneys which i do)MrsSD declutter medals 2023 🏅🏅🏅⭐⭐ 2025

Beautiful days and evenings for our last couple of days in Lesvos 🇬🇷 😊. The heat here is a much more bearable 25 degrees and we have the benefit of air con, pool and sea to cool off in, not to mention the cold beers 🍺. Dread to think how we will manage at home and I’m sure my infant runner beans will be no more ☹️
We have had such a lovely time that we are talking about coming back again next year. The last 2 days will be spent on the beach with dips in the sea and returning to our favourite restaurants for dinner.
Wishing everybody well and hope you all cope with the heat at home 😊

Today amounts to being a lazy one in comparison with recent ones:), with a fair bit of 'So what?'
1. Another surprise walnut tree potted up - 30cms tall but was lying longways, obscured by old bluebell greenery. Fingers x'd.
2. Finished excellent Montalbano book, plot of which meshes well with the death of Berlusconi, his corruption and era of connivance with criminals.
3. Another npd/nsd.
4. Courgettes, red cabbage, grapes, toms, salads, sweet peas, shrubs, salvias, lavenders and gourds all surviving, all watered. Figs are being good figs and staying on.
5. Yesterday was very different, with lovely, simple early church, then miles back for lunettes, left in bathroom, then out again for afternoon village fête. Super hot! Donated some good goods, bought others.

Pleasures for today (Monday)
1) Not a bad sleep.
2) Got a few bits done first thing, including hoovering then steam mopping the floors downstairs. It was too hot for that!
3) Went into town for a cup of tea in M and S and did some Arabic.
4) Went to English lesson. The heating was stuck on!! Unpleasantly warm but it went OK.
5) Popped to Sainsburys afterwards.
6) Had pizza and dough balls for tea then I made a pumpkin pie (but with the last of the butternut squash from the freezer).
7) Third day in a row with a huge thunderstorm. The thunder was odd tonight - almost continuous for an hour.
Next village from us...

For yesterday,
Rough night with an IBS flare up, no rhyme or reason ☹️ but there you go. Did get out to horsey town for some provisions.
The rest of the morning was spent pottering and sitting down with HWB on tum, not ideal in such hot weather!
Over at yard as equine girlie was due a visit from the farrier, we decided to put shoes on her front feet as they have worn down low with hard ground, she hasn’t had shoes for over 4 years but was a good girl to have them fitted.Nothing to eat for me but Capt S found something in freezer to defrost and cook.
Small dog usually sleeps downstairs in the dining room but she followed us up and slept on the bedside rug, very unusual.6 -
Hello.
Goodness, good weather and bad weather photos! One set looked fabulous, the other less so.
Lainey - hope you are feeling better. Little dog must have picked up on you not feeling too good.
Pleasures here:
1) Weather continues hot and sunny but with a refreshing breeze. No rain here though it did look threatening last night.
2) Changed to summer duvets so have slept well without being too hot.
3) Doors open into the garden, meals outside, feels just like being on holiday.
4) Packing (not a pleasure) for a few days away with my brothers and their wives (this will be a pleasure). Not seen them for a while so looking forward to a really good catch up, some good food and wine and just relaxing together in the sunshine.
5) Little fella said he wanted to come when I told him yesterday that we are going away as it is a very long time, he tells me, since he has stayed in a hotel and he likes it and he has never been where we are going so thinks it's only fair we take him! And breathe! Well, maybe, but there is a small matter of school so we have made a 'deal' and we will take him away in the school holidays while son does something with the other boys - we had already talked about this but weren't sure where to take the little one but we will take him where he wants to go and he will think it is all his own idea and we are very obliging grandparents who do as we are told! Will do a recce while we are away.
Right, off to do final watering and to cobble a meal together from the random stuff left to eat up in the fridge. Back at the weekend so will catch up on everyone's pleasures then. Enjoy the sunshine if you can.7 -
Pleasures for today (Tuesday)
1) Not a bad sleep.
2) More washing dried on the line. House reasonably tidy.
3) Was watching an old re-run of Casualty. I knew I remembered "Jan's" husband from somewhere. He was a paramedic in the earliest series!
Anyway, I thought I heard talking outside and ignored it for a while, as next doors are having lots of work done and there are people milling around. Went out after a few minutes and it was the lady who is buying my house, with her builder...
The survey had found lots of things wrong, and the buyer was absolutely stressed out. I asked her if she wanted to come inside and have another look round but she said no and that she had wanted it as soon as she went through the door (on the original viewing). The list included downpipes that empty into the road, rising damp, problems with the roof, things being worn. The builder ended up having to calm the buyer down. He pointed out it is 180 years old and hasn't fallen over yet and nor will it. He showed how all the downpipes on all the cottages empty onto the road as there is nowhere else for them to go in an ancient terrace. I showed her that there is ventilation into the chimney. He found a tile is missing and said he will put that back for her once she moves in, if she gets him a sandwich from the butchers.
Then we talked about her travels and it is all go again and we will both try and speed our solicitors up.
4) Went to Ludlow afterwards and looked round a couple of charity shops.
5) Did some Arabic.
6) Went to get a takeaway for smaller son and me and heard someone shout "Hello, mum!" then bigger son cycled past me on his way home from work.

Oooft it’s hot! However I have a fan going at full pelt which is helpful.Rubbish sleep and up from the back of 3am, first doggy walk at 4.15am and then we were on the beach for 5.30am. It was lovely.
Home and thought I’d put washing on but hadn’t shut the door properly. Anyway washing all done including bedding and remembered to put it back on long before bedtime!Cut the grass before 9amChatted to sister on phone
Hairdresser. Always a lovely experience.Supermarket. Not so lovely but had to be done and at least it was cool!Mooched around inside in the afternoon. Too hot for me outside.
Friends over for tea. We had salad and sausages. Corn on the cob and couscous. All very tasty. And fruit for pudding. We ate inside as it was marginally cooler but sat outside for a couple of hours chatting.Friend helped me get the fan out of the garage. It had 3 heavy boxes on top of the plug… as I discovered when it whacked my head this morning as I tried to pull it out!7
