Fab photos Paulie, enjoy your holiday.
For Tuesday, sorry but no pleasures as a dear friend lost her beloved horse in heartbreaking circumstances, RIP Vin x
For yesterday,
Work done first, cleaned the bathrooms and completed a handful of surveys.
Over to the yard, as always at this time of day my girlie was snoozing in her stable, evidence below, after a night of keeping the grass down in her field. Finally ready for work but she wasn’t 100% concentrating so changed plans and did something different. After nearly 6 years together I’ve learnt to recognise the subtle signs and give her choices too.
Home and sun finally made an appearance so a late lunch in the garden.
Looking out of upstairs window and saw the pigeons in field scatter & something fly fast into our garden, the sparrow hawk was sitting in the apple tree. Afraid to say that I opened window and scared him off, we have a lot of nests in our big hedge and there are plenty of mice etc about without taking one of our baby birds.
Watched the West Ham match.

1 I cancelled a shop that was due, as we can use what we have.
2 A day off from tidying and de cluttering, thou we did talk about de cluttering an item but decided against it, we had lovely curtains up in the living room that I have washed and stored as we hope to move, but then I was thinking are they just in the way, but we’ve decided we both really like them so keeping in a vacuum bag until needed.
3 Thoroughly bored by healthy cooking but stayed on track with brown rice pasta for protein, numerous veg and homemade sauce, did top it with grated cheese.
4 Popped the bread in the freezer to save and portion it.
5 More online house hunting tonight.

Pleasures for today (Thursday)
1) A day off work!
2) A bit of a lie in.
3) Went to M and S. Did some Arabic in the cafe. Was joined (not enough tables) by a man who used to be a carpenter for footballers, and his wife.
4) Sent a farewell text (very early this morning) to the current (not current now) unsuitable man. A final slightly weird date last night was the end. I did find out yesterday that I could lift him up. I had forgotten that I used to be surprisingly strong and this cheered me immensely! I'm pondering now how far I could have carried him. Of course, I drove back from town today and he was walking the other way so we drilled into each other with our eyes and didn't wave or smile...
5) Bought some trainers.
6) Put an expenses claim in.
7) Have been offered many more hours of work, both tomorrow and for the next 2 weeks.
8) Made shepherds pie base.8 -
Another non-stop day, just in, too late to resume gardening, as intended.1......but have given fig tree a night-time bucket of water. The coming crop looks plentiful again, of good size, but still hard and green, so 5 gallons am+pm until ready, first day today.2. 15 lettuce seedlings teased out from the 50p church table pot, all trough-planted on an old picnic table and garnished with pretty blue slug pellets. A nice mix, with red oakleaf, chicory, frisée et al. They've survived their first day.3. Great address from Rev.R at midweek Communion today - 'Unlikely encounters and holistic paths. The way to faith.' We all remembered a moment, or a someone.....4. Suddenly seen in disbelief......a small gold/pearl/diamond bar earring, lost several months ago, in a parsley pot. Wasn't obvious. Saw it only because of repotting/emptying/tidying an excessive build-up of small pots, ready for returning.5. Relief as diesel leak will be diagnosed tomorrow a.m. Horrific loss after only 2hrs' parking for Church was way worse than ever.(pic, but usual 'file failed to upload '.)#The perfect timing of bringing supper drink to bed just as Tom Wrigglesworth's Hang-ups began, repeats always welcome:-)Now, is & in every possible, besty bestest, walloping, implacable, unbending, unbreaking mindset to see djokovic the Vile out of the French Open tomorrow? Hope so. & has been a consistent opponent since first seeing him, umpties ago. Carlos Alcaraz is my new appointee as Rafa's successor.CAP[UK]for FREE EXPERT DEBT &BUDGET HELP:

Good morning.
It's been so cold here the last few days! I'm really hoping the forecast heatwave is coming our way.
Beautiful pictures Paulie. I'm so jealous!
And a beautiful horse Lainey. She looks very content.
Yesterday morning was DH pre op. That took the best part of two hours but it's reassuring and gave us some more information so that's good.
I watched Sewing Bee in the evening and kept nodding off, rewinding, nodding off again! I don't know how I'm so tired from doing so little!
Realised my right rubber glove had a hole. Threw it away and went to put the left one in the bag of cleaning cloths under the sink. Decided to check and found 5 left gloves in there! Think I need a left-handed friend!
So, more pootling about today. Tidying, gardening and hoping for sunshine.
Happy Friday everyone

Thanks HappyCas, she really is the apple of my eye.
For yesterday,
Busy morning, into horsey town to drop a couple of bags off at the Scope shop and picked up a few bits at the emporium.
Lots of admin jobs, sorting paperwork and small dog’s insurance, her age and various conditions are against her so ended up sticking with current provider as at least we know they pay out!
Talking of whom, seeing her dozing in the grass while I hang out the washing.
Over to see my other girl, bit of work in the school but think we both felt lazy in the warm sunshine. As I was there much later I put her out for the night, we shared an apple then I had a little mooch around her field and topped up her water, she followed me for a bit then touched her face to mine and wandered off.
The return of Extraordinary Escapes with Sandi Toksvig, beautiful scenery and interesting guests.9 -
Morning everyone.
Still waiting foir the warm weather here but think it might finally be on its way. in which case a lazy weekend is on the cards.
Lainey - you really do have an amazing relationship with your 'girl'.
Recent pleasures:
1) Little fella's Sports Day at school yesterday, he is very competetive and did well but he was a bit put out that his team came second overall. Total joy watching him but also the tiny tots running wherever they think they will. Aww! Worked out I've been going to Sports Days for about 38 years!
2) Yet more builders, yet more steel cutting, yet more Acrow props. None of this a pleasure but hopefully the end results will be,
3) Went to watch hubby's play last night, really very good and so pleased for him that he is part of such a nice group and doing something he really enjoys. Their set was impressive, very proud of him. Final night tonight and a late one as they have to disband the set and pack it all away. Then a nice, lazy weekend for him.
4) Sorting arrangements with my brothers and their wives for our mini-break next week, really looking forward to a catch up.
5) Nice, easy meals of leftovers with bits and pieces added this week, will eat up fridge and freezer stores and fresh stuff before we go away so all I need to buy today is a lettuce!
Hope you have a good day and that you get some sunshine wherever you are.
Oh - a final pleasure - no need to buy lettuce, some of my home-grown are big enough to eat. Sorted!7 -

Pleasures for today (Friday)
1) Not a bad sleep.
2) A morning at work which went smoothly.
3) Off to floody city as I had 2.5 hours between shifts. Went to the Columbian cafe.
4) What I don't think I mentioned yesterday (or Weds?) as I didn't have the strength, is that my divorce took so many years and was so complicated that part of the value of the house was put in a trust for my sons. I have paid them their share but the clause about them needs to be taken off the deeds when the house is sold...
They have signed and completed the paperwork to say they have been paid. I mentioned this to the solicitor immediately as I thought it might take a long time. Thought no more about it...
Imagine my horror when I received an email from the solicitor saying the "second trustee" would also have to sign to get the clause removed. Ah, the former Mr Frith... I have not spoken to him since 2005. Smaller son has not been in contact with him since 2017. Bigger son is ever patient and meets him monthly for a cooked breakfast in a cafe.
The former Mr Frith went to years of effort to make life as difficult as possible, including refusing to sign to accept I wanted a divorce. My divorce took 8 years. How to extract a signature from him...?
Anyway, the solicitor phoned back today to say she has found a way round it. I nearly fell on the floor!
5) Then I did some Arabic in the cafe.
6) Merrily started driving home. Halfway, remembered I had a second shift at work starting at 1 so I went along the lanes in a diversion. The afternoon at work also went OK.
7) Made shepherds pie, peas and gravy for tea (too hot for cooking really) then pineapple pieces.
8) Watched tv this evening.8
