mhagster said:Hello. Just enjoying some fresh air. Nipped out for half an hour there and came back to a boiling house as I’d had to shut windows and doors.Another sunny day here. Heading to bed soon as alarm set for silly o’clock for work.Doggy a bit better today. Which is good. Not quite right but less wrong than he was. Today he has an appetite and a waggy tail.Tidied out another kitchen cupboard and drawers and pull out shelves. Have a bag filled for next time I go into town to go to charity shop.
Puppy sitting this afternoon. Oh he’s adorable. Oh he’s hard work! So it’s just as well he’s adorable!Missed out a meal as I didn’t get lunch till about 3.30pm so didn’t need tea…I’ll hardly fade away!Nipped to supermarket to get a gift card for a colleague who’s leaving and met my husband’s best pal, so had a very good catch up with him! May also have got RTC potatoes and flowers! And a bunch of bananas 😆Started another book.6 -
1 We popped out for a few bits and from that point of view it was okay but we didn’t get what we set out to, we ended up with sale items from dunelm, so thick socks 1.75, a big fleece for the fuzzies £3.
2 Savvy shopping, I hope.
3 Home and popped a couple of slices of C0stco pizza in the oven.
4 Did a bit of gardening, which of course Polo, Rhubarb and Custard had great fun helping with.
For Today1 A grilled bacon Brie and chilli sarnie for brekkie was delicious.
2 Did a small amount of tidying today, I sorted a drawer and the surface above it.
3 Did various garden pottering today, planting some more peas out, planting a rose and climbers in a trellis out the front.
4 I started tidying the front but only part of it as I have a little frog living in the border, he keeps jumping into the hole I’ve dug for the rose, just watered the front and back garden.
5 I’ve discovered a new to me author, and I’m inhaling the first book I found second hand, The 5 people you meet in heaven.

Pleasures for today (Friday)
1) Not a bad sleep.
2) Had my hair cut.
3) Smaller son and I went to the Greek restaurant in carpet town. He won't go inside places (apart from the football) so I got a takeaway. He hadn't tried it before but was very impressed. He has also asked to go to the local motor racing track tomorrow with my brother, which will be the first time in YEARS (probably 6 years).
4) I phoned my school friend.
5) Will watch Have I Got News For You now.8 -
For yesterday,
Some sloggus domesticus inc a bed change and three loads of washing, had got a bit behind!
Mostly because I would rather be playing ponies so at the yard, worked girlie in the lunge pen with a lot going on in the background including loud gun noises with nearby shoot and someone using a chainsaw! All ok and I picked a couple of cow parsley stalks as a treat.
Home, sun shining so sat outside and read my book with TMS on in the background, looking forward to our Ashes trip in July.
First strawberry of the summer, not homegrown as mine are still green but tasty enough rtc from the emporium, clotted cream with.
The flowers that Capt S gave me are all open and looking lovely.8 -
1 Using Google lens to identify the plants I’ve grown from seed.
2 Would much rather be out today, but domestic stuff called, and it’s busy out there, last days of half-term. I did a deep clean upstairs and clean bedding for us and the ferrets, the rest of the house is also cleaned up.
3 The camping duvet is airing out on the line with other washes, Polo was absolutely delighted, dancing around with me while doing it. I should introduce him know he’s settled to stay for however long he’s got, he’s sure going to enjoy it. This is the photo we were aiming for they are asleep together, he’s the toffee coloured one with a smile on his face on top of the pile. The photo is from when we are away in the caravan.
4 Playing DHs playlist in the background is part of my way to try and improve his mood, he’s very down at the mo, he had a large op to mend his left shoulder, he now needs the same operation on his right shoulder and is in a lot of pain.
5 I think I might treat us to a Chinese delivery tonight, oddly I prefer the way they cook it on a busy night, they en-masse steam the rice rather than fry when busy.

Pleasures for today (Saturday)
1) Not a bad sleep.
2) I went to Park Run. I couldn't walk round as my leg is still wrecked. I felt very out of place, sitting alone in the forest at a table waiting for everyone else to finish. But then everyone appeared, one by one, and we all had a chat and a cup of tea. About 5 people have invited me to football on Monday morning so I might go!
3) Did a tiny bit of Arabic.
4) Smaller son and my brother went to the local motor racing. This was the first time smaller son had agreed to go in 4 or 5 years. I don't know what has got in to him this week!
5) Watched the FA Cup final.
6) Did quite a bit of hacking back and work in the garden.
7) Watched Casualty.
Tried contacting the gentleman caller in my life, who of course has been excellent at "talking the talk". It is amazing how many people are good at that. Really, I start to worry that I am cold and disconnected because I don't tell people how marvellous they are and my "plans" for our future together. Well, that'll be because I don't fabricate things...
He was so weird and dismissive this evening that I texted something like, "If you don't want to see me again, that is fine" (but phrased better than that!) He has read it. but not replied. I made a list of things that were not quite right about him, and it is quite long. One of the points is that his parting is too close to the centre so it is not all awful things. It is probably better that he has gone but I'm surprised how upset I am. Annoyingly, I bump into him A LOT, so this is going to be awkward.
He had, however, told me 4 times how fat I am. The last time I said, "I do have eyes!"7 -
Aww, lovely photo, hey there Polo
Hmm, given such a personal comment I presume that the gentleman in question is toned to perfection with a chiselled jaw Frith?
For yesterday,
Woke quite early but lay in bed reading for a while.
Most of the morning was spent at the yard, what a surprise 😉 lovely in the warm sunshine and my girlie worked well, she’s still a bit clingy though and needs a lot of reassurance.
Home and beloved had cut the grass so mmm lovely smell as I came through the garden gate.
We watched the football then took small dog for a walk around the fields, since her op and starting on different medication she seems to have a new lease of life bless her.
Sitting in the garden until late with a full moon rising in the sky and the bats flying around the cottage.9 -
Morning.
Just touching base, tricky couple of days but they come and they go.
Hope everyone is ok.
Some pleasures:
1) Little grandson's company, always a delight.
2) The weather is warming up again, yesterday was lovely.
3) Have to agree with DFV that our 'shady border' does sound a bit dodgy, like something our of Homeland!
4) Son & co ar having a bbq today, I am invited, hubby is set building all day.
5) My bairn's birthday tomorrow, birthday tea prep is underway.
Hope you enjoy your day.
