For yesterday,
Up early, not a great start as small dog brought up the supplement tablet that she has to take first thing but seemed ok.
Usual Sunday morning of Archers omnibus followed by much pottering in the garden, fed the climbing rose, rhododendrons and liquid seaweed to anything that looked like it needed it!Lots of bees and pollinators around, especially on the geraniums and salvias.
Lunch then a lazyish afternoon, we watched the scores coming in from the PL and read our books.
Evening walk then wine & cheese watching the new series of Midsomer Murders, silly but entertaining.8 -
Ooooh L. Guess who?
I thinks Ms. DD Shall be as ‘Mad as a Hatter?’Thinks ‘appen when you’d has the free sheets too the wind!
All is good on bored, things has bin busy with checking the decks and moving the chairs around. Still at the Tower. With house lick the Admiral’s palace on market, could be on the cards and up sticks and pocket the dosh!
Lots of films watched, as we had the free Apple at the moment. The Reluctant Traveller, and on the river stream we has Oh Cook with the Jimmy May. He cooks like your Admiral. Proper foods.
Chicken ticker has bin perfected. Very good for you and we has one brewing on the side for today as well.
Obviously I has sampled waters and wobbleade in the recent times. Very good, but the lad on the plucking guitar yesterday should be safe in the knowledge that staying in the day job should be a reality. Would say more, butt Kitty dose better!
Jen has herfor the needy.
Back later again!I work from home so my cat can be fed on demand!10 -
Posted twice, but it has turned into t'Admiral!
Trying yet again.
So good when 'lovely sunny day' and similar variants feature here.
& loves them.
Yes, there's a bit of 'changeable' most days, but all is so good.

DD+Luton= Pavlov response. Another here, even though it's round ball!
1. Lovely R receptionist and wonderful insistent Dr S. & fearful of timewasting, but not so.
2. Had ensured plenty of change on hand for a rare local-ish garage sale. & had a splendid time!
3. Oh, such rugby days! So much watching and enjoying, live and screen. ECRU women(inc 7 Peacocks) and U17s chaps - County Cup progress - also inc. 7 young Peacocks, both won yesterday. Final at Ealing for the former next Sunday, which & just can't attend, sadly. Toulon beat Bordeaux-Bègles after leurs Espoirs did same to Toulouse, both at Stade Mayol hier après-midi et soir. Oh, to have been there!.....
Sadly, Sale couldn't overcome poor refereeing decision for loathsome Farrell's Saracens, but - after CUBG time - & found great Peacock and other company in The Alma, with excellent merlot. All were fearful enough to ask if & had more raffle tickets to sell....Glorious day in every ballon ovale way, including Aotearoa home province results, where it is actually winter.
4. .....and a day so well begun with our interregnum Zoom Pentecost service being a 2017 Pentecost Folkestone Cathedral recording. An absolute highlight is Archbishop Justin's brilliant address. Worth anyone’s few minutes to listen.
5. An incorrect refund will be sorted tmrw. Knew assistant was confused when it was attempted last week. & will have £41, not merely £1, merci.

Thoroughly enjoyed 2 more listens: Ronnie O'Sullivan on DID and, less surprisingly, Sir D.A. this morning, on the remarkable

Hello. It’s a beautiful evening. Probably been a beautiful day but I was at workety work. It however is done for the week! Hurrah!
Rubbish sleep and woke up before the very early alarm clock. In at work earlier than I would normally start.
Home for 45 minutes. Enough time to hang out a washing, water the plants and eat some weetabix! And have a cuddle with my doggy.
Work was mad! But it’s done.Home. Put some tiny potatoes in the airfryer, went for a shower, put on my shorts , made a salad which was very nice and reclined in the garden!DD2 popped in having already been here but I’d leftover soup from work .
Need to remake my bed. Sigh! But it will be worth it!

Pleasures for today (Monday)
1) Not a bad sleep.
2) Went to M and S for a cup of tea and did some Arabic.
3) Went to English lesson. The actual lesson went well. The same 2 guys as before. The boss said (at the start), "Oh, Frith is doing such and such", (a new task not mentioned to me before) and I said, "Am I???" My boss said, "Yes, M said you are doing that", and my friend M said, "I don't think I did say that..." Well, that was enough confrontation for me so I quietly sidled away to do what I thought I was supposed to be doing. I didn't sidle away quickly enough so heard my boss say, "I can't be doing with volunteers being ridiculous and difficult", under her breath !! I still haven't thought of the perfect retort.
4) Went to see bigger son afterwards, who was on good form.
5) Had a Chinese takeaway for tea.7 -
Hello again.
Bit late to the party tonight, off to my bed very soon.
Oooh, Frith, I'm mad on your behalf! Volunteering and giving your time and energy can sometimes seem a very, very thankless vocation. Not that we do it for thanks but a little bit of appreciation now and then wouldn't go amiss. I'm hopeless at thinking of an appropriate reponse at the time but I'll be chewing over this in the night, what an arrogant woman. Just bear in mind that presumably nobody gets up in a morning and thinks 'Today I'm going to be a total twonk', we all try to be the best we can, and if this is her best then actually poor her. Grr.....
On to some pleasures:
1) Hubby working on his car so I had a lovely, leisurely shower, did some washing, sorted grandson's toe (don't ask!!!), crossed a few things off my 'to do' list and generally pottered enjoying just 'being'.
2) Did some gardening this afternoon. Actually that's maybe not 'gardening' as such but I put on my pretty patterned gardening gloves and snipped about with my secateurs for a bit feeling very worthy, then got a bit warm in the sun so handed over to hubby who did a solid couple of hours while I read my book and drank tea. I then rallied and fed and watered the tubs and admired our handiwork. The back is still a building site but the front now looks quite respectable and colourful.
3) Texted a friend as I had been thinking about her as she's got several medical worries at the mo. She rang rather than texted back so had a lovely long chat with her - it's good to talk!
4) Son and partner and her daughter returned from their trip away. The 'girls' brought me back a lovely present for my summerhouse, so kind and thoughtful and I was very touched. Good to have the male:female ratio a bit more equal in the household. Can't beat a woman's touch, son commented last week that they now have vases of flowers in their side too!!!
5) Having a day out tomorrow as we have been at home all weekend. RHS garden and lunch out - we joined when we went away a couple of weeks ago and the membership pack arrived a couple of days ago with a £5 off voucher to use in the restaurant so it'd be rude not to!
Hope you all had a good weekend. With three Bank Holidays it's been a very relaxed May.

1 A couple of days away in Norfolk at a steam fair was lovely.
2 Polo was a star, he was carried for one walk to get him used to it, and then he managed a little walk as well.
3 Home safe and sound, the start of the washing wars is on the line.
4 I filed the accounts all on time and accepted, phew.
5 Garden watered and take away ordered in.

Pleasures for today (Tuesday)
1) Not a bad sleep.
2) My brother popped round first thing.
3) Went to M and S and had to "save" a lady fainting in the queue! She was OK.
4) Picked up a gentleman and had an afternoon travelling to, then waiting in, an immigration solicitor's office. Pleasures were all the trains running sensibly and that we found it with just one mishap of following the map! He was good company and we also sat in a park as we were too early and saw a terrapin that lives there.
5) The stars of the show there were really the interpreters who were 2 very ordinary looking middle aged men. They dealt with introductions, interpreting (obviously! but not only to the solicitors but on the phone, to the receptionists etc) and also helping people look for emails and give their phone numbers over. There was a bit of bother outside (a loud English person) and really only the interpreter and I had guessed what was happening and he swiftly said, "Let's lock the door, shall we?" to me then it was my job to let the receptionist back in as she had gone to the shop. The walls were paper thin so I could hear the interview of one person taking place, which was pretty grim, but fortunately I could not hear my guy. I would have sat outside if I could hear him.
6) A quiet evening now so I might do a bit of cleaning.7 -
Good evening. It's cold again!
Following DH tests on Friday, he developed an infection on Sunday! Short version of a very long night. Appt at Out of hours clinic 9:30 pm. Virtual collapse of DH due to v high temp. Ambulance called by clinic. A and E.
Xrays and scans. Admitted to ward about 3 am. I went home!
But there are pleasures
O o hours service, hospital and home all within about three miles of each other. Makes life much easier
Very efficient and very friendly staff. Everyone we met was so helpful.
Smooth running of every stage.
Hospital seeming much calmer post Covid.
So today. DH still in hospital but he may be home soon now temp is steady. I'm spending all afternoon there and either DD or DS picks me up after work. I go there by bus because parking is virtually impossible, and very expensive if achieved.
I have treated myself to the next Gamache book so I'm going to have an early night.
Night night everyone
