Bless you Highdays that’s a very kind thing to say x
Welcome to a new fur grand baby.
For yesterday,
Into horsey town for a food shop, no time for a coffee but had a been there done that chuckle with a lady who had mislaid her vehicle in the car park!
Food put away then over to see my horsey pal, was a bit headachey and more than a little fed up with not being able to do anything on such a sunny day but had words with myself and concentrated on just enjoying spending time with her.
Just one errand in afternoon to get small dog’s food from store then read my book.
Snorkers for tea with spicy couscous and salad.
Clear skies and a waxing moon.8 -
Good afternoon. Beautiful sunny day here
But I'm in a hospital waiting room. DH is here for tests aa something showed up in a recent scan. So sitting here with fingers crossed.
Washed two winter coats yesterday and they both look good as new so that's very MSE for winter. No new coat needed for either of us.
Replaced a couple of bedding plants in our 'manger' . One that I took out was a bright pink daisy that got bleached in the sun and looked very unhappy. There's a very pretty pink ( dianthus) there now.
Hopefully fish n chips for tea as a treat if DH feels well enough. If not, there's some mince in gravy in the freezer. His favourite comfort food.
Happy 🌞day everyone

1. Crazy nonstop yesterday ended with a look up at wonderful moon and Venus, as Lainey commented. This site is good:
https://earthsky.org/astronomy-essentials/visible-planets-tonight-mars-jupiter-venus-saturn-mercury/
2. Midweek service was just right. Was glad to do usual washing up after, in effort to clean garden-y fingernails. Little improvement. & does wear jardin glubs, or else they're ever so nearby........
3. 'For Your Eyes Only' - an unroselike rose, first one out yesterday, another this morning. Unexpected gift months ago. Says Lightly Scented but is fruity+lovely. Knocked a twiggy bit, but immediately potted+rooting powder. Looking OK, day 4
5. Lovely chats about whisky and wine yesterday.

From Aotearoa, winter sunrise yesterday in &'s old stamping ground.

Hello.
Hope everything is ok for hubby, Happycas, definitely not been the best week for you.
Quick and brief pleasures for today:
1) Another glorious day here with wall to wall blue skies and sunshine. Lovely.
2) Got quite a lot of food prep, washing, etc done this morning so felt very justified in sitting in the garden all afternoon.
3) Lovely peace and quiet, no builders, no workmen, no children, just me and hubby at home today listening to the birdsong and a very occasional distant plane but otherwise total silence.
4) Fed the only grandson here for the weekend, he looks a bit weary from his trip to Old Trafford but had a good time and was home by 1am so not too bad, though he looked a bit bleary-eyed getting up for college this morning. Never mind - half term next week.
5) Just been for a lovely walk with hubby to stretch our legs. Still sunny but a frisky little breeze kept us comfortable. Tea is in the oven and an early-ish night to make up for last night.
Have a good evening and a good Bank Holiday weekend - yet another!

Was on the beach just before 6am. Tide was quite far in so doggy doesn’t get off lead plus there were a few jellyfish washed up so just as well. However it was just lovely. And apart from runners it was just about at that time. The water looked so clear .Anyway quick home and quick shower and then it was time for puppy daycare. Helping out until jags are done and he’s allowed into proper daycare. Which won’t be everyday. Pup is gorgeous but of course needs a constant eye kept on him. Was glad when DD2 came and got him!Out in the garden late afternoon. Was rather roastie toastie round my corner spot. Watered everything.Did a washing for DD2 and even though it went out late afternoon it’s almost dry. And the house is warm enough upstairs that it will dry off overnight on the clothes horse.Had a roll and sausage cooked in the airfryer for my tea.7

I hope everything turns out OK, Happycas.
Pleasures for today (Friday)
1) Not a bad sleep.
2) Did some vague tidying up first thing. Load of washing is still on the line.
3) Went to Ludlow for the charity shops but didn't buy anything.
4) Went to the nearest NT property where everyone was very chatty. Lots of sunshine again. They have opened up a new bit of walled garden.
5) Tasty tea of pizza, dough balls, falafel and salad.
6) Went to Wildlife Club after tea for a talk on mustelids.
7) I had told Wildlife Club members on our WhatsApp group that I have lots of self seeded hollyhocks and to bring a pot and compost with them if they wanted some. It was quite funny to walk home from the village hall with several people behind me, all queueing in the garden while I dug up seedlings and planted them in the pots!
8) Just got off the phone to my school friend.8 -
Hope all is ok HappyCas.
For yesterday,
Woke up hungry so leftover snorker sarnie for breakfast.
Small dog had her latest check up at vets, all is well and insurance company have paid up which is always a pleasure! Lots of different dogs in the waiting room, all shapes and sizes, my girl was particularly taken with a Mastiff / Doberman x puppy with the biggest paws I’ve ever seen.
Few chores then over to the yard, warm in the sunshine and chatted to horsey pals, as usual my girlie was lying down when I got there and, like the princess she is, accepted her carrot from a reclining position.
Capt S finished work early and we sat in the garden reading for a while, heated up a couple of Danish pastries to have with our cuppa.
We watched some old TOTP’s then played a few games of Yahtzee.7 -
Good afternoon. 🌞🌞🌞 again
Thank you for thinking of us. It's good news and bad. Nothing rwally terrible but will need yet another procedure. We are booked to visit friends in Spain next weekend. Dr says to go. Procedure will wait. Won't be a problem. We are still thinking. Insurance will be a problem. Hey ho. Very first world! And at least DH is still fit and well. That's all that matters really.
Relishing this glorious weather we're having. Apparently much better here than in Spain so perhaps we won't go anyway😂
I'm gradually moving house plants into the garden for their summer holidays. I try to position them under the watering system as they all look better for having their leaves washed!
Other than that , a lazy day here, though with much thinking going on.
Happy 🌞 day everyone8 -
RL busy & big grief anniversary approaching so To Do lists are Fizzing.LaineyT that poem - ulp. Right in the feels & she's still breathing (just the carer is Needed) delighted to hear the beloved mare is mending. A Mastiff / Doberman x puppy? Blimey, when has grown into those paws will be Huge!Frith - much amused & impressed by a nurse who will leave lawn to go fishing. Hurrah ferretin count! Love the idea of a queue of people with hopeful pots.Purple kitten - I too have planters awaiting assembly but I'm holding on to see if the tangerine seedlings merit their own orangerie before I start!Happycas - while antibiotics work they are so much better than the pray & hope route. Meanwhile DH to await surgery (keep him busy & off the internet?!)DundeeDoll - Singapore! The scheming effort involved I am in awe at.ampersand - cajke and gardening alongside each other as pleasures! Thank you for the girlguiding link - much enjoyed & agreed with.Suffolksue - visiting the sick - cheering on the frail & seeking how to support your gardener - figure how you are both going to grow beans this year?mhagster - of course they turn to you if they think they left the iron on, or the puppy needs 24/7 watching. Sending you So Much love at this new First.Highdays - belated happy anniversary - the Right Bloke is very special & sounds like the grandson will be another such given a bit of time.Topsyturphy - thinking of you & yours & hoping all survivingBoP - could you persuade Miss Kitty to pace herself a bit? As I'm not used to All this Yellow Stuff concerned she'll over-do & exhaust herself!OS Pleasures recentlyGas boiler service booked, youngest laconic “I’ll be there to make sure he doesn’t nick the silverware”(!) He has silverware?!Youngest utterly smitten - just saw a deer in the park. He’s shocked & delighted, me I am charmed at his delight. And carefully not mentioning venison.I really must hoover the office-at-home floor. The yoga class was great fun, but the floor is littered with small things. An Australian grandma got tasered approaching a copper on her zimmer frame while holding a kitchen knife - now I do appreciated demented little old ladies can be scary but I’m bewildered.Did a survey on holiday clothing & still bewildered - people buy new, wear, post a photo on social media & then bin the garment?! Baffling! Happily Very OS, here.2 kumquat seeds appear to be sprouting! Hopefully in time for warmth & sunlight. That plus the thyme cuttings rooting & the rose hips with three seedlings to date, plus the baby forest — my windowsills are thriving… I continue to throw hope at the key lime seeds which are (so far) just getting mildewed.Met the concept “health goth” & decided that the Morissey version is easier to cope with. While the sort I meet at Whitby devouring fish & chips are downright neighbourly. So much sunlight! The washing line took ten hours straight pummelling and the last batch of bath towels will wait for tomorrow. Meanwhile my bed is made with freshly laundered & line dried bedlinen & I almost want it to be bedtime now! [Oh my, snuggling into crisp sunlight. Bliss!]WhatsApp beeping a bit as 136 beaver scout camp photos are shared. Glorious weather, beaming smiles & knackered-but-chuffed leaders.YouTube is too clever - I want to play different things on different devices different rooms but it remembers what I listened to & gives me washing up music at bedtime & thinking music to exercise to. And AI is coming - Ulp!Utterly smitten with “ask a librarian” service! This will hopefully mean I can ditch the Which subscription & possibly even get the economist online… which would be very OS. (I can read The Economist too, just not go through back numbers. Or get the nudge emails, which are useful.) [Hm, I can read which but only on library PCs. Still that’s something.]A gun. Not in a bag “there was nowhere else it could be, not in that dress” - thinking of various restrictive garments I have worn, I wouldn’t care to put money on it, but Miss Marple is not to be contradicted.Ah, village cricket being played. I would stop to admire in more detail but am driving Youngest & frozen foodstuffs - a powerful combination.Card arrived from lovely cousin, “early, but these things cast long shadows”. Yes indeed & typical of her that said card is of trees - big, long growing, patient. For the first time I put a t shirt on inside out & realised it was wrong (without seeing the wash print at my throat). After I corrected it, I checked in the mirror & laughed.“When you’re good they tell you, when you’re great they tell others” - yep, I’ve been testifying to Martin for years! The tangerine seeds Have Rootlings! And are now in soil in a a germinating pod & I am just so delighted and in awe and in hope. This is gardener’s high - getting the unlikely seed to germinate!Had a hug & tickle with Middleson trying to get him to clean his fingernails, which have dark lines that should nailbrush back to pink. I tried. Don’t think I succeeded other than getting hand slightly soapy but he did gather I have strong views & will do nasty things to his T shirt!Middleson has put an offer on a house (only seen 2, so far) & is getting colleague to come to have a dekko as well as surveyors etc. [Offer accepted!] {Viewed 2 more today & another tomorrow but his heart is full of the first one. Terrifying but he’s not being a complete idiot.} (And coaxed the soon-to-be-married pal down from Newcastle to give it a once-over - mind, he’s one of two Best Men & distracting the Groom has always been one of the tasks!)Beautiful quiet sunlit morning, just a turtledove commenting as I peg out laundry.Queried does the food stash under my desk "include chocolate?", it doesn’t, but I offered my open bar of dark chocolate. Declined but he has wandered off with my coronation tin of shortbread. Oh my sons!Returned to one of my favourite people, Hornblower. Chuckling over Doughty, quietly sorting the captains table & worriting the captains womenfolk.Colleague has asked after my “green family” - yes, various seedlings & rootlings are getting as much mention, praise & hope lavished as on hulking great beloved lout sons!My boss has set her out of office referring technical stuff to me & staff stuff to a fellow (real) manager - I’m amused (just shocked) to be landed that without warning. Minx!Have been allowed to see property listing & drawn up huge list of questions! (I take pleasure in being prepared - of course I want to know where the nearest supermarket is, let alone a GP or dentist!)The best offset to a twingeing First is for it to result in a big bag for life (of a label I abhor) filled with clean line dried carefully folded clothing & handed over to a friendly & grateful charity shop.Herb cuttings taken from the “try a bit” herb beds at the surgery. A nice vertical rosemary & a vivid oregano & hearty swathes left for those uncertain.Argh! Philosophical debate as to the nature of Worcestershire sauce & whether it must contain anchovies. Since we add both Lea & P And Hendersons to a stew the issue was moot but the cook enjoys getting my circulation moving. (As I peeled All the parsnips & carrots & not his chosen mere two. “)Sometimes you have to live a tradition to realise why it is. I’ve worn solid black these last 11 months & even a navy tee shirt feels racy & discourteous. Black can be really comfortable (as well as solving the what do I wear faff). I’m eyeing half mourning carefully & thinking do I have to?Eying Middleson’s cookpot (we cleaned it, seasoned it, don’t think he ever used it as YoungThegn!) & wondering if he’ll take it with him or I can have it for cooking over a fire. Then trying to accept that for a start it’s his - I remember the birthday, & also that my enthusiasm for cooking outdoors over a fire tends to be marshmallow-on-a-stick at most. I expect he’d give it to me (as I love its lines) if I surrendered all the Denby!Peered at YouTube & I think I see how to make pretty string using a crochet hook. (I need to make a strip to nålbind the rest of the slippers - it’ll all make sense eventually.)All this drenching sunlight! Washing machine now on 5th load today (as I only start it if I've enough pegs/line for it)Some of our scouts will be singing the NAtional Anthem at Twickenham befor ehte rugby today & the side pleasure (alongside the whopping vicarious pride), is that I was still fast asleep when they set off at 4 this morning.Health Strength Love & Courage to all as have need, sunhats etc & irrigation as needed & may all the pills keep working.10

DFV I switched what’s app beep off a while ago as the work chat group could sometimes get a bit noisy! Honestly it was liberating!Saturday Schmaturday.Up early and out to the beach. Just us but tide in and jelly fishes in too. The sea was so calm this morning. Then went to skinny club! Restarted. And then had a big walk around the park. Cygnets on the pond. Then went to L!dl and then home bargains. Then to see puppy! Too cute but oh what sharp little teeth!
Home and lugged everything out the car and inside. Put shopping away.Had bought compost so filled big plant tubs and planted peas and runner beans seeds and then transplanted tomatoes/cucumbers into bigger pots and out into greenhouse ( one of these plastic frame things ) and courgettes and pumpkin into bigger pot too. 🐌 snails better stay away!Made a chilli for tea. Half saved for tomorrow.Cleaned my bathroom. Usually a Wednesday job so not sure why it wasn’t done.Just going to hoover downstairs and wash floors then it will be time for jammies on I think!8
