Pleasures for today (Thursday)
1) Good to get up after another tiny sleep, dreaming that I was running up and down an incredibly long train looking for the gentleman, whilst telling guards that he doesn't really speak English.
2) Lots of washing done.
3) Sent the goodbye text message. That was awful. Received some lovely, kind messages back from him. He can get a job now so organised one today. He is just waiting for the go ahead to move back to the city. He didn't want to move here. They were just put on a bus one day.
4) Met my brother at 4 to tell him what has been happening. For some reason, while I was crying on a deserted millennium green, about 20,000 dog walkers suddenly appeared through the 3 different entrances. In the end we had to walk around just to avoid them. I told my brother my goodbye message had included a sentence about wanting my normal life back. Then I cried because my normal life is rubbish.
5) Ate a hash brown.
6) Bigger son came home for about 30 minutes so I chatted with him about the houses he is going to look round.
What a miserable day.7 -

Good to have a chat with your brother Frith.
For yesterday,
Trip into horsey town for provisions, had a £8 off £40 shop to use.
Immediately spent the saved pennies on putting the mini through a car wash, usually do it myself but given the fact that you couldn’t actually see my rear number plate thought time was rather of the essence.
At the stables and had a catch up with my pal who was back from a mercy dash across the world to see her poorly dad. Worked girlie in school and she was a little treasure.
Tasty tea, chorizo and pepper frittata.
Watched one of the winter GW specials, recorded before Christmas, and it was spirit lifting to see all the summer flowers.10 -
Pleasures for today (Friday)
1) Weirdly, went to bed and fell straight to sleep and slept for 7 hours. I haven't done that since I really noticed the gentleman, in about October.
2) My brother had texted last thing (about midnight) then appeared at breakfast time, perhaps to make sure I was alright! I also had a text from my mum asking me to join her at Pilates on Tuesdays.
3) Finally, the email arrived saying smaller son is too disabled to need to look for work. It will save having to get an identical fit note every month. I didn't think my phone interview with the assessor went particularly well (as I always put a positive spin on him) but he is still disabled after all.
4) I am going to book a counsellor and talk about why I nearly die of stress in relationships and why ending them is actually more "peaceful" for me than considering how awful the end might be! I had emailed 2 a few weeks back (when I realised I couldn't cope) but had not got back to the one I liked better. I need to get my life in order.
5) I went to Malvern to look round the charity shops, but bought nothing. Then I went to Waitrose. Of course, everything I saw was a reminder including a busker playing a sad song, then shakshuka being a choice in the cafe, then a Levantine food section!
6) Bigger son was here for a while and is going to look round his potential house to rent tomorrow.
7) I haven't been a volunteer at the cinema for months (due to the racism) but just put my name down to do a shift as projectionist. If the other volunteers are nice, I will come down from my perch. If racist again, I think I will say something this time.
8) I am going to take smaller son to McDonalds now as I still can't eat. I will then pop to Sainsburys, come home, go to bed and watch the Last Leg.9 -
For yesterday,
Few chores in the morning, bed changing and a sort out of kitchen cupboards.
Out to the farm shop, met up with a friend for coffee then visited the butchers counter.
Lunch then Capt S decided to call it a day work wise so we watched the last two episodes of Silent Witness back to back. Hot chocolate and biscuits may have been involved as well.
Evening walk with small dog, remarkably mild and nice to be out.
Glass of wine - rude not to, opened the bottle and all that - was going to play Yahtzee then decided against and read books instead.8 -
Morning all, and the sun is just starting to break through, hooray!
Oh, Frith, massive hugs, lovely lady.
Some pleasures:
1) Baby grandson turned 8 yesterday, no longer a baby but he has been an endless pleasure since the day he arrived. I am so fortunate that after mummy and daddy, obviously, I was the next person to hold all my grandsons. Such precious little bundles and now so grown up with a very proud grandma.
2) A tea party was had, egg sandwiches and jelly were consumed and candles blown - I fear this is the very last of the 'proper' old fashioned birthday parties. I've been hosting them for 42 years now, time to move with the times to bowling and burgers or some such but it's been fun.....
3) Been NT members for years but decided this year we'd also try a year of English Heritage so off to a local-ish castle today where a lovely young weekend volunteer at our favourite house and gardens is now head gardener - great for her and we are looking forward very much to visiting her on her home ground.
4) Ready-made picnic of leftover sandwiches, finger rolls, buns and birthday cake, very frugal!
5) Intend to have a very lazy weekend after a busy-ish day yesterday, and of course the last ever Happy Valley tomorrow night. Will have to watch it live to avoid all spoilers - probably peeping from behind a cushion!
Have a good weekend.

Hello. Just watched a beautiful sunset at the back of the house and a lovely big moon at the front. Daylight stretched to 5.45pm tonight.
For Friday :
in at work at very early o’clock. Then hairdressers where I realised I had very muddy boots on from the very muddy early doggy walk! They were filthy! Look much more presentable and used the voucher I got for Christmas.
Waited for someone coming to pick up some furniture which was initially supposed to be at 10.30am and then at 10.45am they messaged to say after 1pm. Sigh! But it’s gone. And left a nice space!Another early night as the early mornings catch up on me!Today.Up not quite as early but early enough and watched the moon appear out of the clouds in a tadah kind of way! Look at me!Bumped into my husband’s best friend not seen for a while so had a good chat with him. The chap was introduced!Went to garden centre for brunch with DD2 an and her chap. Then B&Q ( not my favourite place ) but I had a 10% off offer on something I was needing, much laughter trying to get it in the chaps fancy car! It sat in the passenger seat and we sat squashed in the back!A quiet afternoon. Got as far as taking the hoover upstairs but not as far as plugging it in😆
Enjoyed watching the sun set and the moon rise. And another early night as alarm set for early o’clock tomorrow and zoom the days off are done!12 -
Pleasures for today (Saturday)
1) Not a bad sleep.
2) Bigger son and his girlfriend were here on and off during the day. They have looked round a house and were filling in reference forms, credit checks etc.
3) Smaller son and I went to the football at 3pm. We lost 1-0 but it wasn't a bad match.
4) Have spent hours trying to set up an online investment thingy. All sons friends seem to use it and I am supposed to get £5 (or maybe they do??) for being referred. Still haven't quite managed it!
