5 OS pleasures in your day today - part 3

Happy February, always feels like we have turned a corner.
Quiet pleasures here:
1) Hopefully having a quiet week to rest and recover from these blummin colds which are hanging around, so far so good.
2) Had Funday Monday for the first time in ages where we do something nice just because we can. Went to the very smart new restaurant at a nearby garden centre for late lunch (as they were fully booked over lunchtime) but that was good as we didn't need any tea later on so a lot of late afternoon book reading. Nice to spend some quality time with hubby and chat things through. Amazed how many people were out enjoying themselves on a Monday, plan to have Funday Monday more often now things are getting a bit steadier.
3) Up indecently late this morning, woke up and my bed was so warm and comfy I dozed off again for another hour or so, must have needed it. Bed changing today, though, so won't sleep well tonight as, unlike most, I'm not keen on new bedding and prefer it when it's - sorry - bedded in a bit.
4) Another quiet day in store but have people coming next month who haven't been here since we moved so today intend to do a 'to do' list as, eventhough it's only a couple of years since the work was done and we finally 'moved in', there are things that already need touching up or sorting. The big kitchen drawers are definitely due a clear out, must get hubby on the case!
5) Easy tea from stores and freezer today and why not?!
Enjoy your day.

Frith said:VJsmum - have you ever been to Powis Castle, just outside Welshpool? I think it is my new favourite NT place.
Pleasures for yesterday
1. I saved OH's life - LOL not literally. He woke with a thumping head and wondered if his salts/sugars were out of kilter from a mega walk the day before. So i recommended marmite on toast and a rehydration powder and to sleep it off. It worked!
2. Did some planning for Vietnam - changed the itinerary
3. Went to nearby small city to change my phone provider and look at rucksacks for above trip
4. DS has passed out in his new role - i.e. end of training (not fainted). so
5. we invited DD round and had a family curry.
Laters all.

Good morning
Topsy T - living up to your name, falling over. Hope the bruises soon subside. Fingers crossed re interview.
Frith - petulant is never a good thing. Not even in a charming toddler. Definitely not in an adult.
I'm struggling a bit ( a lot!) this week with sciatica which varies from ' not too bad in the right position' to ' unable to move without severe pain.' I'm therefore either gently carrying on as normal or lying down moaning loudly.
Met my friend yesterday. ( fortunately our car is automatic and it's my left hip/ leg which hurts). She is going for her hip operation next week after last minute cancellation a fortnight ago. She's surprisingly upbeat so fingers crossed for this time.
Ordered some new crochet hooks. Mine were my grandma's so at least 50 years old. Still fine of course but I've seen some new ones that have chunky handles. They're allegedly better for arthritic hands so I thought I'd try them.
Finished Silent Witness. It's turning into SW meets Eastenders meets Action Man! But there's not much else to watch at the moment!
Chilli for tea last night. Easy ' throw it all in the slow cooker then go lie down again' meal.
Happy Thursday everyone

Second stage of mini spring clean, this time upstairs, cottage feels lighter & fresh.
Completed some audit paperwork for Befriending Network, been putting it off for a while so good to get done.
Flurry of surveys as well, productive day.
At the yard, bright day but wind made it cold so we stayed in the stable, I groomed while horse pointed out her itchy bits.
A glass of wine with evening meal, just because.

Morning! Very lazy start this morning after 4 mornings with a very early alarm clock! Another one tomorrow but none needed today. But do need to get up and at ‘em as need to go into town.
Yesterday was an early start. A wild and windy doggy walk and an hour and half of work.
Home and sat on by a doggy to make sure I wasn’t going straight back out!Wrote a list and ticked off most things other than hoover / wash floors downstairs. Felt I needed the impetus of a quick fire list!Moved a unit that I had got for free last year and had painted into the hall but too wide ( as I thought it would be) so put it on the local FB page and it’s getting collected tomorrow.Went round to see mums next door neighbour. Had a good blether. Then walked down to work to pick something up. Met a friend had a very quick catch up and a very good laugh! Popped in to supermarket and then walked home.
Hello doggy, I was home well in time for his tea !Early morning rising meant I had an early night!
Have a good day!9 -
The midlife crisis continues. I dreamed about him last night and am crying now. It is absolutely ridiculous. The not eating is fine but the not sleeping is getting wearing.
Anyway, the pleasure for yesterday was sitting in the back of my car, watching him watching the Barcelona match on his phone. He somehow can sit on his own feet, like a cat. I can think of all the ways it won't work out (not least, because he has told me this is temporary) then go back to watching him sitting like a very small, Persian god. I cannot tell anyone in real life as I am not supposed to be meeting him anyway. (He's not married).
It is not his fault that my life before was so utterly humdrum and that my friends are scattered countrywide. I am meeting my brother later for a walk and am going to tell him what is happening before I go mad.
