welcome slumbershade
indeed bop
been busy at work and only just got home in time for a quick bite to eat tues and wed before going out again to watch the footie with DrM and MrG so let's move to Thursday evening
1) went to St Andrews with friend for Peter May book reading - packed audience and got his latest (i still have entry island to read, the latter was £1 from the hospital charity shop)
2) friday evening caught up with friends at the phoenix - very much revived my spirits
3) and today - lunch with gbf at the botanics and a much needed catch-up
4) then we walked the dogs - a lovely mse pleasure
5) after supper did a bit of a catch-up on mrssd's declutter (doing 23 minutes a day but tues - fri didn't manage) so although i said at the beginning of the year i wouldn't pressurise myself to catch up on missed 23 minuteses at the weekend i did tonight and thrilled to say down to 2 bags to sort in my office, a big box to put away, a big box for the CS, another big box for the recycle, some mislaid items found . oh and i got my washing washed, almost dry on the line and finished off in the house - now all put away. a very satisfying day.

Pork stir fry for dinner was very tasty and quick.

Pleasures for today (Saturday)
1) A lie in! First good sleep for a week.
2) French toast, bananas and blueberries for brunch. Have just realised that is all I have eaten today (apart from a second banana!) The mid life crisis continues.
3) Our football team won 2-1, after some very poor form recently.
4) I spent the afternoon in floody town, walking along the river bank and having pots of tea in a pub. We looked at a lot of fisherman and I asked complicated questions about fishing licences, as that is one of the hobbies of the man.
5) Smaller son and I had a little dance in the kitchen. We haven't done that in years.

Lucky you DD, love Peter May.
For yesterday,
Clean sheets and a lie-in.
Lazy morning, pottered outside for a bit topping up bird feeders and washing my yard boots, a man turned up with my old saddle which had been at a SH tack store for a while in the hope of it being sold, his wife who is a saddler is giving up the profession.
Over to see equine pal, tidied up her legs and chatted to other owners.
Home and DSIL & lovely partner had dropped in for a cuppa so had a catch up with them.
Treat of a Chinese takeaway for tea and watched the latest two Silent Witness.9 -
Good afternoon
Welcome Slumbershade. Here is a good place to be
There seem to be lots of people with the January blues. I do hope you all soon feel better. The days are getting longer, and we are having some bright days here. Soon the worst of winter will be over. But it's ok to feel sad too. It will pass. Honestly!
Spent an afternoon renewing our passports. Very straightforward but it seems we're rubbish at taking photos. Must have taken a dozen each before it grudgingly said 'Fair'. Pressed submit and we'll see what happens. Will draft DD in to help if rejected. She's good at phone photos.
Our smart meter display thing has gone daft. Well, unless we really have used 99p of electricity per day for the last 10 days. Will have to contact B Gas I suppose.
Had a lovely afternoon yesterday with all 3 DGC so a lazy day today. Roast chicken, roast potatoes sprouts ( sorry, Admiral. I do like them.). A sort of Christmas dinner really.😃
Happy Sunday everyone8 -

Hello again.
January has, as usual, been a long month. It'll be nice to greet February this week.
Recent pleasures:
1) My bairn is back safe and sound, very brown but, of course, now jetlagged and back at work. Welcome back to the real world!
2) Tackled the mountain of ironing this morning - including two weeks' worth of holiday clothes (see 1) above). All done, yippee!
3) A meal plan of sorts has been put together and a shopping list written to include birthday tea for youngest grandson who turns 8 on Friday.
4) Birthday cake made and in the freezer, to be decorated later in the week.
5) Roast chicken dinner on the menu here today as well, to be followed by some sneaky leftover Baileys and Happy Valley. But first, having got all my domestic stuff sorted this morning and having polished my halo, I have earned an afternoon curled up with my book. Bliss!
Have a good afternoon all.7 -

Bit random but did the trick!8
