For yesterday,
Bitterly cold and a hoar frost, pretty to look at it but nice to be inside.
Didnt feel 100% with bad sinus pain so good to have a quiet day at home.
Big bowl of cauli & kale soup for lunch.
Did the m/e accounts, monies go in on 26th, and squirrelled excess away for various planned treats.
Reading my book, must be the right time of year for a good yarn.

PM2DD There was an October day back in 81 when we failed to turn up at your place! It will not happened this time! Saturday beckons!
Right you lot!
There I is connected via the vpn to the Tower! Just thinking thats another bucket of cash inn two the pension fund! Making hay!
Readings through your posts I does think some Jenny help is required around the Parish, see below, butt I must says that since 21:33Z 1982-05-03, I has not intentionally watched the msm news! Turn it off and you will not miss it condescending messages of doom!
Was at the Tower yesterday, dropped off by the Albatross with me lunch box and all is good. Course bucked as well!
Has court up with the Uni Challenge! Strange subjects on the Belfast team?
Nipped out last night as we can and had a stake in the wobbleade emporium. Tasty. Last time we wents to one, we had pore service. The Albatross had her glad rags on!
Now must do more work for the Tower

Good afternoon.. Sunny again. Hooray!
Topsy - brilliant news about the zimmer! Such a relief already.
Frith - it's January. You have a lot going on. You're allowed to feel down. Try to let it ( the being down) wash over you. All will be well.
Been a bit at sixes and sevens this week but settled down again now.
Managed to get to yoga which I enjoyed.
Supposed to meet with friend whose op was cancelled last week but then DDiL called away to a family emergency so had to collect/ be home for DGC. They finish school so early! One at 2:50 and one at 3:10 !! It's like half days compared to finishing at 4! Managed to cobble together a tea for them out of their freezer.
Tuesday, rinse and repeat. I don't mind at all as I love seeing DGC anyway. We went out for tea which was great all round.
Today hopefully the emergency ( an elderly relative needing care) is almost resolved. NHS to the rescue again. So a peaceful pie and chips at home for us, fingers crossed.
Happy Wednesday everyone8 -
Thank you, Highdays and Happycas. It's an erm... gentleman problem. I've stopped being in denial now (though I did manage that for 2 long and miserable months) so we shall see what happens.
Pleasures for today (Wednesday)
1) A lie in.
2) Cleaned vaguely.
3) Made an apple and mincemeat flan type thing on puff pastry.
4) I have laughed a few times today remembering a silly joke we made up yesterday evening.
5) Bigger son is home (he keeps coming and going between his girlfriend's plus stopping in the van). They have sold the van and will move in together (again!) in a few weeks.8 -
Thank you for your support
Update on DS2 following appointment
His femur was fractured in 5 places, fragments have been taken away along with a part of his bone and a metal rod and pins from the top to bottom of the femur. His bone needs to grow about 6 inches. There were also 3 bones broken on the knee, however 1 piece has not aligned properly so depending on a decision from the knee specialists, they may have to operate again, depends if they think there is enough bone to attach a screw to. The consultant told us that this is a life changing injury and it will be a new normal when heeled ie not as before. They said he will have to learn to walk again. They have said that full recovery will take 18 months. The positive is that he is still here and that we can overcome this one day at a time.I also went to the theatre tonight to watch dirty dancing, really enjoyed the show. My lovely neighbour came in and stayed with ds2.
Ds2 is still upbeat - although in pain st times.
Hired a wheelchair so ds2 is happy as he can go out - as long as I push11 -
He certainly did a proper job didn’t he TopsyT, bless him that sounds awful, will keep everything crossed for a decent recovery.
For yesterday,
Feeling better and more energy so household chores ticked off list.
Dancing around the kitchen to Do I love you by Frank Wilson, much as I liked Mr Springsteen’s version you can’t beat the original and all the happy memories of Northern Soul All Nighters.
Did a few surveys and money added to pot.
Time spent with my horse, despite the low temperatures there were a few hairs coming out as I groomed her, guess she knows Imbolc is on the way.
Tasty tea, snorkers baked with root veg.

PM2DD When Saturday Comes!
You'd do well reading this!
Looks that Jenny has two gave out another burst today for the needy!
Rite, that's that bit dealt with!
Had another Chinese from the stove inn the galley. Alll homemaid as well. Mushrooms and toe nail onions whizzed around the pan, then tossed with fresh been sprouts and spinach, with a bit of black has been sauce. I love its when the spinach, food of PopEye, wilts down in the pan. Very Tasty!
I has chequed another flix for your lot on the streams. Bank of Dave Recommended by the Admiral. Wobbleades and cheeses were taken. It has that Roy Kinnear's lad inn it!
Now conexed too the Tower, IT downgrade on its weigh again! They sugared up the 'putah's last so we will expect further shenanigans too day!
Rite, I has me mug of fresh brewed tee and an apple. An apple a day keeps the quack away!
Jen does her bitI work from home so my cat can be fed on demand!6 -
Hello . Beautiful sunset. Beautiful day ( in a freezy cold kind of way) tiny moon in the sky tonight. I’ve just been out to sort my solar lights , they’d flipped over the fence. They are looking pretty!Fire is on and candles lit. It’s all cosy here.Early morning walk with doggy. All crunchy with frost.Met niece and great nephew at garden centre for a catch up. Such a lovely drive there and back. It’s all countryside once I’m out my town and it was all frosty and white with a beautiful blue sky.
Home and hello doggy.Got two things picked up today in my bid to declutter. Knew one of the people so we stood chatting for ages!Have put a desk up for sale so have manhandled that downstairs somehow not ripping the wallpaper! I’ve had can I have that for half of what you’re asking…eh no. Can I have that for a quarter less than what you’re asking…eh no. Can you take the legs off …eh no ( and it did say on post) so it’s now plonked in my dining area ! So I’m hoping that someone wants to pay what I’d like!Had a lovely chat with DD1 this morning and then we FaceTimed her when we were at garden centre. Someone stole her bike from outside her work. This is the second time she’s had her bike stolen. Grrrr.Had a much brighter day today than yesterday. Felt very lethargic and couldn’t be bothered so took myself to bed very early.Had French toast for late lunch/early tea. Was very yummy!Popped down to neighbours with some tablet and DD2 took some in to work.
I’ve an early start at work tomorrow so will be an early bed tonight again…and need to factor in car defrost time to my early start!9 -
1 The vets phoned this morning, they’ve had a cancellation for next Tuesday, so we are all booked in.
2 Usual house stuff done, washing cleaning, stuff hanging about drying.
3 Hair pack, face pack, whitening teeth against my tea addiction.
4 I arranged for some clothing we ordered in various sizes to be returned, just need to do it.
5 As we have a large animal bill looming next week, instead of ordering in I cooked from the freezer, you would think, simple, nope, the oven I always use came up with an error so turned itself off, so I used the combi microwave also a rather enthusiastic oven, I followed my way to the first set of burning even having followed all the instructions, middle of the oven it was cremated. So, I rescued the second pizza from the freezer, turned it right down to 40 degrees under recommended, and nigh on watched it every minute it was the most stressful pizza cooking. When we know if the surgeries are successful next week, we will see if we can treat ourselves to ordering in after.
