Hello. I keep saying I need to get up. I need to get up…I do! I’ve a dog to walk whilst it’s still quiet outside.
Friday was my vaccine booster day! Arm is seriously aching as I knew it would so just have to get on with it! Was a bit bittersweet as that’s the last place I went to with my mum. She died the following day. So I’d a bit of a gulp moment.Popped into charity shop down that end of town and got 3 books for a pound. And a cabbage from the supermarket. Not being waylaid by other things! A cabbage!Home and put the fire on and just pottered around. Big pile of excess cardboard went out to recycling lorry and 2 big bags of decorations had been picked up the night before. So space again on my table.Started a book.Went to bed quite early. Woken by a less than quiet child coming in from her Christmas work night out! Sssshhhhhh.Have a lovely day9 -
Keeping fingers crossed re the house offer Frith.
For yesterday,
The local water company are digging up the big drive to install a fire hydrant for offices located in the old farm buildings so bit noisy, they need to run pipes along the front of our property and apologised as will block our parking at some point next week, just don’t block us in please.
At the yard, spent a while getting pony clean and me warm, my old Gramps used to say that if you were grooming in your coat you won’t working hard enough! Photo of said clean pony
Lazy afternoon after that, watched footie and read.
Easy tea, baked spuds with cheese & beans.
Bit discombobulated what with it being Friday but Strictly being on, could have been the cider though!9 -
A very quiet day.Out with the dog early and the most stunning sunrise.Fat club! One pound off.Home and fire on and basically just sat on sofa , read a book and occasionally moved to get more logs!Book finished, fire gone out and an early night!8

Pleasures for today (Saturday)
1) Not a bad sleep.
2) I sorted the clothes donated by the footballer. Quite touched to see various club shirts in there, that he must have worn over the years. Some with his initials written in!
3) Went to the charity shop in the next village but didn't buy anything.
4) Made linguine for tea. Smaller son ordered himself an Indian takeaway later so I had a spoonful of that as well.
5) Phoned my school friend.8 -
For yesterday,
Bad night sleep wise so good to have a little lie-in.
Enjoyed a long, hot bath reading my book.
Changed to winter decs on the mantlepiece, put up the winter garland in the fireplace and generally just pottered around.
Cold afternoon walk with small dog, but we all had coats on and it was a beautiful grey and lilac sky.
Loaded veggie nachos for tea, tom & chilli sauce, black beans, sweet corn and avocado, all topped with cheese, one of our favourites.

Workety work day number one done…one down, one to go!Cold and frosty this morning so a quick doggy walk/sniff.Then I walked to work as car needed de-iced. And I needed the exercise after two days sitting on the sofa in front of the fire!Great tips.
Good company.
And a nice walk home, went the long way home ( round past my mums )9 -
Hi.
Just dipping in while the roasties finish off in the oven.
Pleasures today:
1) Got ours and the boys' Christmas trees up listening to Christmas songs and eating mince pies.I couldn't even face putting my tree up last year, my dad had just died and my mum was very poorly over her birthday weekend and finished up in hospital until the middle of January. I couldn't go and see her as they only allowed one designated person so that was my brother who lived nearer and was sorting financial stuff with her. So a bleak Christmas all round, the boys had to split their time between here and their mum's for the first separate Christmas so my son was bereft without his lads, I was missing my dad and worried about my mum, just dire. Anyway, a year on we have the trees up and sparkling nicely, a beacon of happier times to come.
2) Some of my baubles were the ones my mum and dad bought for my first Christmas so they are 70 years old and the really old fashioned sort that you can't seem to get these days. beautiful and very fragile. Happy memories of Christmases past and lovely to see them again.
3) Have ordered three small battery-lit trees, one each for the boys' bedrooms so we spent the morning cleaning and tidying, washing windows, etc so their rooms are all ready for their Christmas decorations. Will decorate when the trees arrive tomorrow.
4) It's beginning to feel a lot like Christmas, certainly cold enough up here in the frozen north.
5) We have been invited out for very posh afternoon tea on Friday with my bairn and his new 'friend'. She has been on the scene for a while now but he has been taking it very, very slowly and she appreciates that and understands how badly he was hurt. It is lovely to see him looking so much happier and getting out and about a bit more. They spent last weekend in London and seem to get on really well so looking forward to getting to know her better. As long as he is happy then I am happy.
Right, off to finish tea then a Christmassy film and some choccies will be enjoyed..
Have a good evening.

1 Worked out the microwave grill and used it to cook up the bacon this morning as I dismantled the oven and then did a quick run out to get soaking cleaner for it, and decided I was “too adult” making a trip out for oven cleaner on the I CBA to put it back in dirty. The shelves have been soaking overnight.2 Time to rescue some Christmas decs from the loft, always fun when it’s the most recent ferrets first time to wonder what the humans are up to and be as much help as possible.
3 Dinner is 75 percent off chicken bits. but I think I am very close to making sure we either have less meat in our diet or more over it is good quality.
4 Watched Love Actually and The Holiday.
5 Made a lot of progress clearing the second bedroom, a few things to the loft a few things thrown, a whole pile of old fluffy blankets to be used up by the ferrets.

Pleasures for today (Sunday)
1) A lie in!
2) Bigger son had a lovely day with his girlfriend and her family including a cooked breakfast and a chance to clamber in to their loft (they obviously know him well by now!) He also went to get some new work safety boots and the mother of the girl who broke his heart was working on the counter. However, he was with his girlfriend and has recovered, so that was OK.
3) I made a curry then a pumpkin pie (but with butternut squash) for tea.
4) My brother came over for tea and to watch the football. England v Senegal, 3-0.
5) In bed (nearly) with 2 hwb in situ and will read for a while.9
