5 OS pleasures in your day today - part 3

1. Reverbe'd £1
2. £4 MrT vouchers from Clubc*rd
3. Found out what the seemingly random recent £21.60 payment into my bank account was - a tax rebate for the VAT or something on my union subscriptions, and a new tax code received so I will get it automatically from now on. Yippee!!
4. Discovered we didn't have to pay to get back into England on the bridge so have put the £6.70 "saved", along with the other bits of money listed above into my Marmite jar savings for my future dreams and wishes....
5. Good to be homeParents were hugely proud of DD's achievements in Latin and we celebrated in style
6. Have arranged to go and see KW tomorrow, swoon!/yay/etc etc
7. Fresh sheets on my bed, some washing done and I've started going through some DVDs to hopefully sell on for more dreams money....watch this space! I'll probably only get about 10p each, lol.
8. Rather than spend £75 on a pair of posh ankle boots (I live in them once it's no longer flip flop weather and go through a pair a year on average....), I've bought a £9.99 pair from the bay of E and hopefully will get nearly as much use out of them...and if not, will be able to replace them far quicker! I prefer the look of the cheaper ones as well! Having spent a few hours driving through yet more rain to get back home today, I think flip flop weather may be over sooner than I'd like to imagine, hence getting ready for w**ter already
9. Have ordered a gazillion pairs of jeggings for DD as she's growing like a weed, and hopefully one pair will fit and the rest will be returned. MS'ness is getting free delivery to store rather than paying for home delivery. It's kind of on the way to KWs as well....0 -
Kittikins et KW sub abore sedet. (Not sure of the ending of sedet - GCSE Latin, 1991!)
Pleasures for today (Saturday)
1) First day of feeling better after wisdom tooth extraction.
2) First day of (nearly) solid food - porridge for breakfast, cheese omelette for lunch then macaroni cheese for tea - hoorah!
3) Bigger son and I drove to feed the chickens in the most torrential rain and loudest thunderstorm I can remember for some years.
4) Bigger son went to work then has been out most of the day (is still out) with his friends.
5) Smaller son went to watch his football team play and after the match one of the players shook his hand!
6) I have lost 7lbs since Monday. Plenty to lose but not perhaps the nicest way to do it!
7) My school friend came round to drop off smaller son's birthday present - a football, pump and little valve thing you need for footballs. Smaller son said, "What a legend!" :-D
8) Watched Usain Bolt.0 -
Morning Folks,
DS1 and GF were pet sitting while we were away on hols. They thought we were away for 2 weeks. House needed a bit of TLC when we got back.
Ran out of energy yesterday, so slowed down a bit!
Pleasures for yesterday.
1. Read back through MSE threads I have been following.
2. Trip to Waities to use the last of the £6 wys £30. Got a till spit for £4 wys £40.
3. Popped into Oxfam and found Mango top for £5.
4. Booked some events for literary festival in October. Nice to have things to look forward to, and one of them was free!
5. Made baked Zitti for tea. (Pioneer Woman recipe). Salad and Pico de Gaio used up lots of bits from the fridge and lettuce from the garden. Also used up a bottle of red wine, and fell asleep half way through the Harry Potter film we were watching(We are working our way through all the films again).
Going to Countryfile event at Blenheim Palace today. Freebie from O2. :j will report back later!

Thank you Skint they don't call them rubbish disposal units for nothing
Some recent pleasures,
DOH and hollow-legged ones away at the test match so time to myself, did send them with a food parcel to avoid inflated prices at venue, all that came back was a crust of bread, literally :rotfl:
Reading and enjoying I See You by C Mackintosh although in hindsight not best reading material for when beloved is away!
My secret stash of blackberries are coming along nicely although recent high winds have decimated our apple tree.
Took my little dog to local pet store to find a new lead as hers is dangerously frayed, spent time choosing a new one and also picked up some food, got to the counter and looked down, Tilly had quietly picked up a very large chew stick so that had to be added to the bill
The beautiful, clear evening last night, moon nearly full and bright in the sky.0 -
So, house elf:-), another Ree Drummond follower? Have you made her Aunt Iny's(I think, or it might be Grandma Iny's)prune cake? Divine.

Live reporting<Trumpy bootie. Not quite time enough to head elsewhere pre-morning prayer, so
1. Biblical water yday meant &, among many, suddenly remembered Free cake+drink voucher from kind Mr Lewis. Upstairs, lounge view out over miscellany of town of gown rooftops, always good. Changed usual choc. mind at last minute to poppyseed lemon cake, cascaded with dried blue cornflower petals. Absolutely amazing. Pot of green tea. As blissful a union as kk and KW:-)
2. Good library visit. Only 2 books taken=well done &.
3. ...but have picked up Rev. Richard Coles' 2nd one this day. A v. happy 10/- squander.
4. Hearing Mo Farah's fantastic 10,000m. Contrast that with Gatlin's shady 100m last night. Heard a false analogy being made in his defence, so told radio it was ridiculous.
5. Investigating using MrT vouchers against flexifare>Hoek van Holland, thence>Jutland>further Dansk lands. Another smell of oily rag journey at which & excels, if it happens.

A weekend of decluttering / sorting into piles . Have done a fair bit but much to be done. The pile for the garage sale is growing , the take home pile in the dining table free dining room is growing but cupboards & drawers have been emptied.
Went through Christmas stuff today with Dd1 & had requisite music playing!
Sold my butchers block trolley which I love but no room for. The lady said oh it's smaller than I thought to which I replied the dimensions were on the advert! So she would take it for now and oh I love your plant displays, I have wooden crates planted with primroses & cyclamen & primula & winter pansies on my back steps and they've given me so much colourful joy ...sold! I was just going to give them away at a later date but she bought them !
Lentil soup for lunch & curry for tea.
Lots of lovely dog walks .
Nice chats on phone.
Bright yesterday though very windy...much washing done!
Grim for most of today. Though dry when walking dog.
A surprise visit from 2 very young tawny frogmouths in the garden tree yesterday. Much earlier then usual.
Have a good day0 -
1 A lovely Sunday morning, a grilled bacon sarnie was brekkie.
2 I got around to baking and made some brownies using no sugar and coconut flour, and they turned out lovely, just had one with a cuppa I don’t think they will last long
3 The smell of the pork joint cooking through, filtering through the house.
4 A washing load out on the line and play time with the ferrets.
5 I went out to the van, to tidy up a lot
6 MILs car looks great and ready to go back tomorrow.
I could have gone bargain hunting, but instead, I sat in the garden with animals and book.0 -

That's what I was aiming for, Kittikins!
What a day...
Here are my pleasures:
1) A lie in.
2) Porridge for breakfast.
3) Hens ok.
4) Sort of got ready for holiday.
5) Bigger son went to meet his friends in nearby town.
6) Smaller son went to play football with his friends in other nearby town.
7) Watched the end of the Harry Potter film with smaller son.
Then a phone call from bigger son to say he and his friends had been targeted by a man in town (as they cycled to the chip shop). To cut a very long story short, man had threated/pushed/slapped lots of people. Then he tried with bigger son but he intercepted him and grabbed his arms. So bigger son was headbutted in the face (he's fine). Police have just left and they've caught the bloke and a member of the public got a nice clear video of it on her phone.0
