1. Ditto re: hwb Frith. First one was yesterday, felt necessary and good. Will do another after this.
2. Many of us will have had different memories surfacing today, while listening or watching.
A mass of these opened overnight in an old barrel, brought from former home in the Var. A linked loss for &.
3. Heartfelt thanks and respect for all elements of today's farewell services and wonderful music, to all who conveyed it and to all involved in its transmission.
4. Good daily exchanges and free calls with New Zealand, France and Spain(P's 25years and 254 days' RAF service)since Saturday, via What'sApp.
5. Observed yesterday's 1-minute silence up on The Gallops - this moment, 2000h.

For yesterday, not a day full of pleasure but many emotions
Quiet, contemplative time as we watched the day unfold, as always it was the pipes & drums that was the most emotive for me, that and Her Majesty’s fell pony standing to pay the last act of respect.
A feeling that as a nation we gave the Queen such a funeral as befitting a life full of committed service.
Evening walk with beloved and small dog.

Hello
Up early to go for a swim before meeting friends at 7.15am. The most stunning sunrise.Lovely catch up with them, I just had toast and jam and then came back to the hotel for my second breakfast 😆…well it’s paid for! Had fruit and a wee Danish pastry.
Pottered around apartment for a while, started a book but it’s a bit rubbish so will leave it and go on to another one I think. Then went out for a wander round the city streets.Went to cathedral which was always my place of solace.Had some lunch in the sun. First sunny day.Walked back along the riverside. Chatted to friend on phone when I got in.Quiet night in for me ( quite happy with that )9 -
Hello everyone.Much cooler, greyer day today, time to put away the summer clothes methinks.Recent pleasures:1) The state funeral yesterday went so well, an amazing spectacle, HM served this country so well and the country served her well yesterday. So much stands out but a special mention to the pallbearers who were just amazing. The pleasure is HM is now laid to rest and the family can come to terms with all the change out of the public glare for a bit.2) A lovely relaxed evening after all the heightened emotion.3) Big grandson can bring a smile to my face no matter what - well, they all can in reality!4) Went for my Covid booster this morning and flu jab is booked.5) Dashing off to get my hair cut in a mo. Intensely dislike having it done but the pleasure will be I won't have to peer out through my overgrown fringe.Enjoy the rest of the day.8

Pleasures for today:
1. The smell of twinks hobnobs wafting through the house. We have architects coming tomorrow to look at the house and I realised I have nothing to put out with coffee. Twink to the rescue. Also roasted the vegan meatballs for dinner later and some veggie sausage rolls for DDs lunch to make the most of the oven being on.
2. Sold something on Vinted. First thing I listed and sold in half an hour for £55. Now to figure out posting, etc!
3. On top of housework. Even washed all our slippers ready for winter.
4. Sitting in bed with a bathed baby and bathed toddler and DH reading bedtime stories
5. Reading my new book all snuggled in lots of layers8 -
Recent pleasures:
Watching the magnificent funeral of our Queen. What a wonderful send off, much deserved and I’m sure all the magnificent views and sights over the past week will do wonders for our tourism economy. The pipes, drums and the pony got me going 😢. We watched the whole day and enjoyed “picky” food and lots of tea 🍵.
Friends round for Chinese tonight, no hot tub this time as we emptied it out ready to clean, dry and put away. Hopefully the electric usage will go down, but I did put the heating on for a while before they came to take the chill off as they are delicate souls 😊
Snuggled down in my bed with the duvet back on.
Night all 💤

Pleasures for today (Tuesday)
1) Not a bad sleep.
2) Pottered around all day, achieving little!
3) Tried to sort out my premium bonds (seems I can no longer deal with them online).
4) Was the projectionist at the cinema tonight. A quick sighting of MrE. My mum and dad and second mum and dad watched the film then came upstairs to see the workings at the end. I was worried that all the other older people would see them go upstairs and decide it was an open evening and I would end up pinned against the back wall as they all piled in! The film (Fisherman's Friend) had a character in with the same name as bigger son (first and last name), which is incredibly unlikely, and I kept sniggering when there was a line like, "I'm leaving this band if Bigger Son is in it!"
5) A new travel video has been uploaded.https://youtu.be/FNrQP-ARX98

For the last couple of days
1. Watching the funeral. Very poignant and such grandeur but with personal touches. A very moving day.
It made London and Windsor look magnificent too.
2. A racing day at work. Nothing was easy or straightforward. Ignored a colleague who offered to help but only if I helped her out. How is that helping me? She had had a quiet day.
3. Another colleague taking advice about something without too much nagging. It was something she knew she needed to do but didn't want to do.
4. Phone call from DS1 - he has an interview today so fingers crossed.
5. An early night but too tired to read my book. Not that I slept much!6
