Oh heck. Post vanished!
Try again.
Thank you Admiral. It is much clearer now. I hope you enjoy your new job. I must admit I enjoy having no restrictions on my time. Think I was made for retirement!
Still very hot here. I don't mind hot one bit but even I can see that we need some rain occasionally.
Supermarket this morning. We are alternating between German ones at the moment. They both have good fresh food and lots of bargains. The difficulty is persuading DH he doesn't need an angle grinder/ tent/footstool!
Just got back into Virgin River and was enjoying it again and it's finished!
Lainey - We're watching Van der Valk too and humming all day afterwards. Not as many bodies in canals in this one! It has made us want to go back to Amsterdam though.
This afternoon's job is hemming a circle skirt. It seems to be about 10 yards round! Quite a calming task though.
Happy 🌞day everyone

Pleasures for today (Monday)
1) Woke up a few times during the night (still 28 degrees inside overnight) then woke up later than I wanted. I'll do a day volunteering tomorrow instead.
2) Got all jobs done.
3) A spattering of rain, on and off. Not enough to do any good yet. Heard thunder in the distance.
4) Went into town to look round the charity shops. Bought nothing apart from a calendar by a particular designer that will be a Christmas present for a friend. Had a cup of tea whilst out and bought 2 bakalava from the market for me and smaller son.
5) Made jacket potatoes for tea. Hardly ever have those but they were OK.
6) Finished my book.10 -
May have just went to bed early last night! Was so tired!Anyway Monday was my only day at work this week! Woohoo! Not up too early. Nice doggy walk as far as the post box which was our furthest walk yet.Home mid morning.A good shift, I actually had a really nice day at work. Steady without being rushed. Good company. Chattering and laughing.
Good tips. Then the rain came! Holy moly! And down it did come. It was torrential! Finally home and a few things to do . Drop stuff off. Pick things up.Then home! And I think I may have went zzzzz on the sofa!Today is my first day in 12 weeks with no agenda! There’s much that can be done but there’s absolutely no timescale to do it in!9 -
For yesterday,
Slept badly and woke up with a headache so pleasure to get up. Into horsey town for provisions.
Few chores and then off to the yard as farrier coming, the nasty place under girlie’s tail is healing up nicely and she seems happy enough. So warm and muggy with dark clouds bubbling up.
Home just as rain was starting up, quick quick to get washing in and shut the windows a tad. We had a decent amount for about an hour, need a lot more!
Late lunch for me so made Capt S some tea and I just had toast with a banana.
Finished my book, next on the pile is Eleanor Oliphant is completely fine as recommended by bf.9 -

There, another day is upon us and the sun did come up!
Has the prawn poodles last day for dinner. Chopped toe nail onions, chopped button mushrooms, toms, prawns. Tossed with some chin ease sauce and topped with fresh noodles! Very tasty, then we has some strawbs and ice creme.
Watched Our Man in Italy last night, to catch up a bit. Very good as usual! Did watch the 100, butt was a tad one sided. Cocoa, fizzy fruit waters and cheeses was taken! Sum of that cake shown yesterday was also eaten!
Up early to has the golden flakes of corn in iced milk, mug off tee. Packed the Albatross off with her top lunch box!
Set up the 'putah threw the big telly thing for later. PM2DD we is bee watching the big match from the Theatre of Fish later! #UTM! No chuckling to PH!
Now sits with me mug of proper tee. Later I will has the orange club and my luncheon!
I see on the hyped media about the salt marshes at Tetney! Salt marsh as the area is flooded by the tide! Well sometimes they do get a tad low with water due to low tides in the lunar cycle, but the media was claiming it was caused by some mythical loss of water etc and ... Well yesterday during the moon cycle, a big tide came inn and low and behold, the marshes we wet again!
Nature has again corrected its own!
Jen does her things!
Off with yours then!I work from home so my cat can be fed on demand!8 -
Good morning - just
Still hot but not sunny today. Yesterday we had approx three spots of rain. Maybe four. And no sign of any today!
Lainey - another vote for Eleanor Oliphant here. It's good.
Admiral - we had prawn poodles too! Snap!
More ironing! Had to be done before it gets too warm.
Made mushrooms a la Grecque. Sounds posh, doesn't it. Had to use the mushrooms up and remembered it from long ago. Very tasty!
Some more dead heading this morning. It's a job I enjoy, but not too keen on sticky petunias.
Chicken wrapped in bacon for tea. Thanks to the air fryer I won't need to heat the kitchen up using the oven. In fact I don't often use it at all now. Just for baking, and not in this weather!
Happy Tuesday everyone

Hello again.I'm feeling a bit sorry for myself, out of sorts and prickly - so the pleasure for everyone else is to keep out of my way, sadly for me wherever I go there I am! Not sure what's wrong with me, not sad exactly but definitely discombobulated if that means out of sorts and not tolerating fools, or indeed anyone else, gladly. I'll sit tight and hope it soon passes.Any road up, I'm here to find pleasures so I'll make a start and see how it goes:1) Got the latest M J Arlidge from the library, love the Helen Grace series though I feel they haven't been as good lately so will see how this one pans out.2) It's thankfully a bit cooler but no sign of any rain here as yet.3) Channelled my inner housewife yesterday in an attempt to work off this mood - it didn't but I have a clean house, all washing up to date and meals prepped in the fridge and freezer.4) Another dusk walk with my bairn. We started this walking business back in April to boost our diet and exercise campaign, it's certainly done that but the bonus is we get an hour 1:1 to chat about everything that's on our minds and ongoing plans.5) I'm rubbish at painting my toenails, for too long I couldn't even reach them (!!) but DH has very steady hands and does a far better job of them than I ever did and does them so carefully for me. Awww!Phew, made it to 5 after all.Got a meeting with the celebrant this afternoon to plan my mum's service for next Monday. DH suggested maybe this has been on my mind and is making me feel out of sorts, got his head bitten off for his trouble but I think, as usual, he may be right. I'm off to tell him exactly that and hopefully, once it's done, I might be a bit more back to normal.Sorry for the whinge, hope you all have a good afternoonHx10
